    Mine just started this as well, I can tell all of you who keep repeating they have replaced the ecm several times, your crazy. Thats not the issue. If you would read the manual it tells of 6 different issues that could be happening when the no bus appears, crank sensor, cam sensor, map sensor, throttle position sensor, governor position sensor (transmission), and then the ECM. All of those sensors relay a 5 volt signal to the ecm, and if they are grounded (bad or shorted) it will not allow the ecm to read and will not read correctly causing no start.

    Update....the Check Engine Light Code was P0753 which has something to do with the Shift Solenoid. Makes sense because the transmission does go into limp mode and it is leaking tranny fluid so thats a problem too. I have no idea if that is related to it shutting off. I returned the PCM and put my old one back in. I'm going to try checking the wiring harness for a short somewhere.

      So, did you find the culprit to the shutting off ? same problem and yet no overheating light of gauge it's not over heating issue,mine was cold when a few miles turned off.

      112914 Roy, I had similar problem with my saturn. After all the work/parts i put on it i narrowed it down to the injectors or the fuel filter. I didn't bother to check the injectors, i just changed all of them. When i removed the old fuel filter, it was filled with mud, you heard right "mud"(rust, dirt, garbage). This is what i think was happening. Engine runs good, there is enough fuel in the filter. Engine runs, gunk in filter restricts fuel flow, engine off, fuel trickles into filter after about ten minutes or so, engine starts: Then the vicious cycle starts again. My car has been running good for a couple of weeks now(repaired saturn on 11/19/14). I just bought a durango, I get sputter at high rpm and speed, im going to change fuel filter, and check sputter. If that doesn't work ill check injectors, spark plugs for cracks and carbon, then check spark plug wires. Hope this helps

      Its gotta be the one that looks like the soda can. Coz i just changed my fuel pump assembly in the gas tank and the fuel filter is something i havent changed yet. Ill keep yall posted once i change mine@yeeyee_rockstardavid_yeeye7746

    If it stays running with gas and brake pressed, it may be an idle control motor, connector or wiring issue. ECM while common, are usually easy to test by tapping on the case and wiggling connectors to either cause, or stop the problem.
    This is assuming the battery cables and grounds are in good shape.

    its your idle air control sensor you can either clean it with carb cleaner or replace it and be sure to replace throttle positionin sensor

      I agree. I had the exact issue on my 2000 Durango. It’s located in the back of the throttle body. You will need to remove two Allen screws, pull the sensor out. Clean or replace it as Travis said. 👍

    In your fuse box is an "Auto Shutdown Relay." Swap it out with the AC relay next to it. If the problem goes away (heat related), replace that relay with a new one.

    my 1999 5.9L did the exact same thing. I had it in the shop replaced starter and ECM . the new computer was faulty had to send it back and get another one. Was running fine but now I have an erratic idle so I replaced the air idle control valve and the throttle control module ( I think that's what it is called. ) so far running fine no check engine light no stalling. hope this is it finally.

    2000 4.7 durango had same issue. Manifold absolute pressure switch solved it. It had symptoms for a few weeks and never threw a code. The day it threw a code I checked the live data and map was indicating very low pressure. MAP sensor solved this problem of stop sign/low speed shut off.

    My 99 Ram 5.9 will randomly "lose" ignition while driving along. Tach drops to zero and engine dies just like shutting off the key. Changed computer and seemed to fix the problem for a little while, but then starting randomly shutting down again. Does this while driving down the road. If I pull over and try cranking the engine, it won't start and no tach indication. However if I shut the key off first, then try starting it, it will start right up and will run fine for several days. It's not throwing a CEL, and not getting a "nobus". Acts like something in the ignition system has an intermittent fault. Radio continues to play and everything else continues to work, just no ignition. The key seems to be that the tach drops to zero when the engine shuts down. No spit, sputter, or misfire of any kind. The engine just shuts off. Has me baffled, and I've had to park the truck as it is too unreliable.

    • @alexlundgren8297
      @alexlundgren8297 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Acuff have you found a fix. My truck started doing this a few days ago. Runs great. But then randomly dies. Doesn't matter if it's idling or I'm keeping it revved up to 2000 rpm in park. Or going down the road at 60 mph. But when moving that fast. It just pops and sputters and tries to die for a second. But keeps running. Very random. But happens only when truck is up to temp. And then it happens every 30 seconds to 1 or 2 minutes. And one time it died and I couldn't restart it. Without resetting the computer.

I had it in the shop the first time they thought it was a bad wire connection. but after one day having it back from the shop it died again. this time I saw a code pop up saying no bus , it's in the shop again and we are replacing the main ECU.

    This happened to me, got a 2001 dodge durango. It first had problems when I drove from where I live to pick up my brother (about 50 mins away) and when I got to his house, my car was over heated BAD. That was the first problem I've had with it in 2 years. Now it's common almost to shut off while I'm at a stop for too long or something. It's frustrating and I'm about to.probably sell my car because honestly I don't know anything about cars. And the mechanics in my area are quite questionable.

    YOU TUBE Scotty Kilmer said the fuel pump has no codes but a low pressure situation can cause stalling..
    Maybe this is why yo have to push on the gas pedal to keep it running.
    Check pressure under the hood at a garage if you have not solved this.

    My 98 dodge durango just started having gauge problems. They work fine but after driving about half an hour all the gauge lights come on and the needles drop out for a couple minutes and then just goes back to normal. The truck runs fine though. The air bag light remains on all the time. The low gas chimes when they all light up too. Does anyone know what the fix is for this? • @dennispeck2382
      @dennispeck2382 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This model of PCM is prone to have an internal circuit board crack that "opens" the 5 volt supply circuit to the sensors when the PCM gets heat-soaked (usually on a hot day with the A/C on full). I was able to confirm this by gently flexing one of the PCM connectors and watching the 5 volt line go on and off. Third-party rebuilders don't check for this fault and you can get a "rebuilt/re-conditioned" PCM with exactly the same problem. I had to get a re-built PCM from the dealer to get a quality PCM. Because PCM's are sealed, there are a lot of shady sellers the shine up or paint the outside of the PCM and can't repair the fault inside. Dealer is the most expensive though you get a quality part.

    Mine is doing the same thing but not as frequently. The mechanic thinks it might be the fuel injector. I would love to know what's going on with yours. My old Pontiac had an issue and it was the coolant thermostat and wouldn't start unless I flooded the engine.

      Just went through this, replaced different sensors, but continued to just click off especially when it was hot outside. they finally changed the coil pack on the distributor and it has been 2 weeks and not once has it stopped on me.

    My 1999 dodge Dakota does the same thing after the battery is disconnected for more than a hour. It does it because the computer resets and it don't know how to idle so I just gave it gas at 2,000 rpm for a couple of minutes and it was fine after that

      This is worth looking into . I have had a dead battery before and needed a jumpstart and i had to hold gas and keep hitting unlock on the fob to make sure security was off and then it stayed running after that . Next time battery went dead , same thing happened . Mine is a 2001 Durango /w 5.9L .

    www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSa...
    If you have ever had a problem with your 1999 Dodge Durango stalling either while driving down the roadway, at a stop-light or anywhere, use the above link above for the NHTSA department of the federal government for recalls, even if you don't own your vehicle anymore. I have a family member who has one & has owned it since it was purchased brand-new, it began stalling since it was new, first time in traffic on a very busy multi-laned street in Dayton, OH. It was a very scary & dangerous situation, that luckily turned out okay due to my sister's quick-thinking, but could have been death for 2 adult women & 4 children. They have spent a fortune on their Durango trying to find & fix the problem over & over. If you do research on this problem on the net, you will find hundreds, maybe thousands of people's posts reporting history of this problem, but ironically there are NO TSB's out there for that particular problem for 1999 Dodge Durangos which can not be if these vehicles have been looked at for a stalling problems, which indicates to me that the dealerships or someone above them were not reporting this problem in the system like they were supposed to be doing all along all of these years (perhaps the vehicles appeared in the systems when they were checked out but were listed in the system under an irrelevant problem, so that they could avoid listing the real problem. I believe that Dodge has been hiding this major possibly life-threatening problem for years & have hidden it so well & so far no one has contacted the federal government direct. If all of you contact them & report your stalling problem with your present or former 1999 Dodge Durango, Dodge will have to come clean & own up to their problem that they have managed to sweep under the rug & keep hidden for years from the federal government, as well as their customers! You don't have to continue to fight with this possibly life-threatening problem on your own any longer!

    my 1999 5.9L did the exact same thing.
