I have some fun facts for you 😁. Grosgrain, the s is silent so it’s pronounced grow-grain. Georgette both g’s are soft so it’s Jor-jet and the coolest thing is, there is no such thing as machine crochet. All crochet is hand done although there is some machine produced lace that mimics crochet. I love that she found hand knit items!! As a knitter, it makes me happy to see them get a second life ❤️
See what happens when you learn words by reading? 🤣🤣🤣 You know - the strange thing is, a while back, I said grow-grain and someone came in and corrected me in the other direction... who knows - maybe some regional dialect says it that way? Those hand-knit pieces are awesome, right?! I SO don't have the patience to do something like that, so I have all the respect in the world for people who do!
Oh my goodness - your videos are such a joy to watch! By the time the video is over I have a whole legal pad of new keywords. Your descriptions are so colorful, unusual and spot on - it's obvious you are enjoying yourself. Can't wait until part 2. Thanks for sharing
Not a Pucci caftan but I did find a Pucci silk jersey wide leg jumpsuit! Almost looked like a skirt type full leg. Paid $2 at a thrift that I loved (sadly, closed now). Found it about 20 years ago so I think I sold it for around $200. I really needed the $ so I was thrilled. I wish I could have held on to it but....oh, well. Black Brown 1926 is a Lord & Taylor house brand. I believe 1826 is the year L&T was founded. Doesn't seem to do very well, not sure why.
Oh. My. God. I'll bet it was absolutely FABULOUS! Who knows - maybe the thrift gods will bring another one to you... I'll keep my fingers crossed! ...and thanks on the Black Brown! It IS really gorgeous - I always say - when you have something nice like that that doesn't sell all too well, it's a great brand for those out there shopping for stuff like that - it's a win one way or another!
Moda International -- back in the day -- early '00s/late '90s was sold in the Victoria's Secret paper catalog, back when they had a sportswear/daywear section.
It’s wonderful that you and your mom share this love 💕 also I found and (finally sold) Elena Baldi white floral silk blouse and it is impossible to relay how soft and lovely they are so it sat for a while and I’m sure the buyer was someone familiar with the brand because it’s really something you need to see and feel to appreciate and unfortunately they don’t sell for much
Moda international was the victorias secret catalog clothing line..i think moatly 90s and y2k. They do a lot of angora blends. I always list the angora percentages and use keyworlds fluffy and fuzzy. Sells better on ebay and usually to men.
I found a tie once that looked very classic -- until you scrutinized the pattern and saw that it was scales of justice. I marketed it for "law school" and made a profit in the $12 range.
She's got such a good eye, right?! Of course, who do you think taught me how to spot the quality...I had to have been one of the only 6 year olds who knew to look for patterns lining up at seams...🤣🤣🤣
Loved all the sweaters and the hand knit labor of love ones, but my favorites were the two you found that would likely go on depop! So stinking adorable! 🤩
I did find an Emilio Pucci vintage night robe very light weight that probably had a long sheer night gown, found at the bins I recognized the print when I saw it I sold it for 89.00 it had some fixable flaws and Lafayette 148 find it a lot in NYC not so much in California where I am now. I will only pick up at the bins it sells from 30-60 and usually sits for a while but definitely pick up certain pieces at the bins
Oooooooh -a robe?!? Even better than a Caftan!! I just want to get my hands on that silk! 89 for something with flaws and missing it's other part is definitely a great sale!!!
I’m new to your channel and am loving how detailed oriented you are however I wish you would show the brand a little bit longer and closer please. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
I love your videos. Thanks for all the infomation. I found 2 (!) Layfette blazers at my Nebraska small town Goodwill. I was not familiar with the brand but I could tell they were high quality and had beautiful craftsman ship. Amazingly the blazers were not marked up! Only one has sold, i should re-list it. My mother also shared her love of quality clothing and some sewing skills with me so I totally understand your geek-out moments!
I love this SO much!!! Lafayette is VERY under the radar, I think, in terms of thrifts - it's not a super well known brand, but those who know KNOW. Definitely relist it! And I love that you got the skills from your mom too! I feel like it's a dying thing, so anything we can do to preserve it for future generations is a boon!
MAC had an eyeshadow that was like the color of the sequin dress! Very dark but when light hit it right, greenish. Beautiful color in eyeshadow and dress!! I would love to get those olive leather pants!! Also that last sweater with the ducks! Do you post across all the sites at once? I would think Depop or Mercari would be better to buy from you with no seller fees.
I remember those Mac eyeshadows and those early Urban Decay nail polishes... Bruise, I think was a similar color. Yep! I post across Ebay, Poshmark, Mercari, and Depop! Obviously do what works best for you - I know it costs quite a bit more money on those sites (but, obviously, you're so sweet for thinking about that!) That duck sweater is already sold (!!!) but the olive pants haven't been listed yet - they're missing that top button, so I'm on the hunt for one that works with the existing two. So freaking fabulous, though, aren't they?! I'll give you a heads up when I've got them listed!
@@JMSquaredVintage If you want to list them without button, I’ll buy them!! I have a huge button collection. On the button topic, I’ve picked up things before just for the buttons! They can be so expensive so $1-2 for nice buttons off something I wouldn’t really want to list is a great deal. Sorry I missed it but glad the sweater sold so fast! That was a great find!!
I will! I've yet to find one that I like in terms of match, and I 'm just not getting up to the Fashion district until probably after the new year (i like to make a day of it!) I'll get them photographed this week and give you a heads up once they're live! NOTHING would make me happier than one of you guys snapping them up! What I wouldn't give for them to be in my size....I'm going to need you to tag my socials in them when you wear them (Obviously, only if you're comfy with that - i'd LOVE to see them all styled!) I harvest buttons from pieces I pick up that i find damage on too. 🤣🤣🤣 Is there a rip I didn't catch in the bins, but there are unique buttons? SNIP SNIP!!
I live in nj and have come across Elena Baldi a few times. Once it was like thirty nwt linen dresses all lined up at a goodwill. Another time it was a handful of nwt silk dresses at the bins. I wonder if it’s some kind of northeast boutique brand.
A 2 1/2 hour video of the things you found at the bins?!?! Yeah, I'd watch that:)
I don't know if I could handle editing it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@JMSquaredVintage That's fair...and lucky us, we get a part 2!!! I'm excited to see what you found in my neck of the woods!!!
I need to hit the bins again! Are these from the Bellmawr, NJ location? I know there's also one in PA outside of Philly.
@@kathyarnauer2831I know there is one by the Ben Franklin but I heard it’s a freaking zoo lol
@@jacquelinedaniels87Really??? There’s a bins near the Ben Franklin?? I had no idea! Def checking that out!

The A. R. Y2K dress with fishscale sequins is so mermaid core.
YESSSS I was SO happy the sheen of those sequins came through - I've never seen anything like them!
Moda International -- back in the day -- early '00s/late '90s was sold in the Victoria's Secret paper catalog, back when they had a sportswear/daywear section.
Ahhhhh! Ok - now this is definitely feeling familiar - and the style is very of that era!
The Black Brown 1826 sweater s were sold at Lord & Taylor. Really good quality.
Ah hah! That explains why I wasn't able to find any info - seriously, that knit is so, so nice!

Well dang - it is really gorgeous stuff, isn't it?! That silk is like absolute gossamer! Photos will never do fabric like that justice...

Love it! Novelty ties bringing the profit! Next thing you know, there'll be a run on keyboard ties!
OMG! I thought the ducks were dinosaurs, lol. A Jeep fanatic would pick up a duck sweater in a heartbeat.
Wait... what?! Do Jeep people do ducks like cruise people do ducks? I've never heard of this!
@JMSquaredVintage totally! Duck, duck, Jeep! And they need warm sweaters.
Me too😂
I saw a dinosaur profile in the last sweater not a duck 😂😂
I 1,000% thought they were dinosaurs at first too! I'd have been happy with either!
Another fun fact...Shoshanna was Seinfeld's infamous teenage girlfriend.
I think about that every time with that brand!
Oh my god THAT'S RIGHT!!! I COMPLETELY forgot about that! Ugh.... so creepy. So, so creepy.
Yep
i would watch 2.5 hours :)
Love the haul. You have a great mama to share your great finds
She's got such a good eye, right?! Of course, who do you think taught me how to spot the quality...I had to have been one of the only 6 year olds who knew to look for patterns lining up at seams...🤣🤣🤣

The quality on them is just insane, right?!
@ YES! Amazing!
Love the video and all the things you got. Looking forward to the next video.
