    I am wondering about the combs. We have 7 they are 21 weeks and 4 have been laying since 20 weeks slowly over week 20. I am seeing their combs and bright red and by their heads at times they can be a bit lighter. My concern is so many people say this can be health concerns but it seems they are good and no mites and I can’t imagine all of them have heart or respiratory issues. So is this normal that their combs can be a bit lighter by their head or when you stand their floppy combs up you can see in the bend they a lighter. I’m just curious as so many people say health issues! It seems this is normal.

    I have acquired two leghorns that for me seem so skinny and underweight. Probably battery chickens so I tried to help them gain weight. They only eat pellets probably that's the only thing that they were fed. They eat continuously and eat without stopping probably due to the fact that they suffered malnutrition. May question is: Is it normal that they are unstoppable eaters? Do I have to remove the automatic feeder as they never stop eating. Thanks

      White leghorns and red sex links are designed to utilize only fully formulated feed and have very big needs.

    What is the difference between white leg horn and DeKalb white chicken ?

    • @GKGPoultry
      @GKGPoultry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The leghorn is a standard bred chicken breed. The Dekalb white is a commercial chicken strain, related to the leghorn.

      They will stop laying around 4 years of age. But as they age they will lay less and less.
