Animation on the Alexeïeff-Parker pinscreen

Award-winning Canadian animator and illustrator Michèle Lemieux plunges you into the fascinating technique of pinscreen animation. Join her as she traces the history of this tool, from its invention in the 1930s by Alexandre Alexeïeff and his wife Claire Parker to its use in Lemieux’s film "Le tableau"(The Painting), which screened in competition at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Bel hommage au couple Alexeïeff-Parker et à l'écran d'épingle !!! Également à Jacques Drouin, et à Michèle Lemieux qui ont su continué l'aventure. Et bonne nouvelle, des deux écrans originaus encore disponibles pour créer des films d'animation, il en existe de nouveaux grâce à Alexandre Noyer. Ce gars s'est lancé un défi qu'il a largement atteint, et même dépassé, avec une nouvelle génération d'écran. On attend de voir le travail de la nouvelle génération d'animateur et d'animatrices…
