I didn't use any of the drinks and snacks I brought. I had one sip of rose hip soup and just puked all over. But my husband ate it all. He's a nervous eater sometimes.
A tip is to bring more than one shirt/bra because there is going to be milk all over it. Good luck ❤

      Hi Sarah.

      More nappies
More bras when your milk comes in it’s the next level.
More onezies for bub. Boys wee on their clothes a lot you might go through three sets in 6 hours lol
More pads first baby u bleed a lot.
More clothes for you. Spew on you or a lot of milk.
Good luck with birth. If you are close to hospital Kurt can always get u more stuff.
Oh and when u feed you get sooooooo hungry!!!!!!! I’ve had three babies 👶

Quick tips: separate your baby clothes in smaller bags with tags like "First outfit", "Leaving maternity outfit", "pyjamas", "bodysuits", "hats & muslins" because you might ask your partner to get something for you and it makes their life so much easier. Don't forget muslins as they spit a lot in the first months. I also know it's not sexy, but adult nappies are the most comfortable thing after labor as you're never worried you'll leak, instead of being a bulky thing it is shaped outwards so if you have a episiotomy it doesn't hurt you and they take a nice amount of "liquid" (although I'd suggest a fair amount of changes). Hypnobirthing breathing techniques will help you so much with contractions. If you haven't investigated it, do so, even if just a quick search as I spent 8 hours with contractions and didn't need any pain relief (had to get an epidural after that point though as I was induced and they were giving me more oxytocin which doubles the pain). Relax. It's not as bad as the media and some people make it. With the right mindset, feeling relaxed and not stressed about it, breathing through the pain and having the right team, you'll be absolutely fine. :D Best of luck!

My labour and deliver with my first baby was absolutely traumatic. There was nothing that could prepare me for the whole experience, to be honest. I had contractions Tuesday at 8:30 PM and she was born Thursday 1:17 AM... yes, you read that correctly. Epidural and vacuum delivery with a second degree tear. Horrible experience BFing and having to return to the NICU where my daughter was admitted. I was blind sighted and traumatised.
My second was AMAZING! Rocked up to the hospital at 8:30 AM at 3cm dilated and gave birth at 11:04 AM. All natural! Went home on the third day.
Completely different! Made me aware of the differences in experiences. So much respect for women and what they go through, no matter how their baby is brought into the world. ❤️

Sharing this vid with a mommy to be, she's 28 weeks! All the love and good vibes to you and your special day, Sarah! My hospital was really posh, I was lucky! The had almost everything I needed, however I did pack my bag & the baby's bag. It was a very hard labor with my daughter, and painful but my beautiful pink baby girl made me forget any pain I went through 😉😊👶🏼💫
I need to catch up with your channel a word of advice, have your birthing plan in place and ready, but also ( I'm sure you have) speak with your dr in case you need a C section, nobody wants that but I had to have an emergency one with my daughter after 23 hours of labor ! My son was scheduled bc it was a uterus issue for me , so no surprises! As long as they come into this world healthy that's what really matters! My daughter took so long bc I tried to stay zen for so long and they didn't know she was breech. I love watching your vid so much , took me back to my younger mommy days! Xx🙏🏼⭐️👶🏼

You’re going to do great and be a great mum, I’m pregnant with 2nd now but been a sarahsday fan for years do it’s cool to watch you go through the phases. You are as prepared as you can be, I think I was too, I did a water birth and remained in my zen, I couldn’t hardly tell you who was in the room or what was being said, just kept focusing on relaxing muscles and positive thoughts. Some will say that’s crazy or sarcastically say ‘good luck’ but don’t listen to those people they weren’t as prepared

Awesome video! Its so lovely to see how you've both tried to educate yourself on birth and all the tips and tricks possible. Clary sage is amazing for natural induction and to assist in labour progress, you can take a bath in it or burn it for best effectiveness. Here's a few extra tips from a student midwife:
    - definitely test out your tens machine before you go into labour, and make sure you both know how to use it (less stress trying to figure it out when you're in pain)
    - a "peri bottle" is basically just like a bottle that you use when you go for those first wees after birth. You can have the same effect from a jug of water. You pour water while you go to dilute your urine so its less stingy on those sensitive areas.
    - babies wear the same amount of layers you're wearing +1. So if you're wearing a top and jumper, they need a singlet, body suit and blanket etc. also pack more baby clothes than you think you'll need, babies are messy.

I know this sounds stupid but I'm seriously so happy for you and think about you when I'm not even watching your videos. I remember sitting in my first child's nursery when I was 9 months pregnant, just looking at the crib and was freaking out and thinking "there's gonna be a baby in there in a couple days." It's so weird. And now that baby is 19 years old and my other child is 16. Do NOT take for granted how fast time goes. You blink and it's over. I was not prepared for how fast motherhood goes. It's seriously devastating me. You think you're excited now??? Just wait...holding that baby is going to take your breath away, and I'm so excited for you.

Also I couldn't stand music being on when I was in labour so my playlist went out the window haha. I had 3 drug free births and my best tip is stress balls. One in each hand squeezing hard when you breath in and releasing when you breath out during contractions. They saved my life 😊

Oh man our hospital bags are so different haha! I stayed for 4 days. Wore one nursing shirt the whole time, my baby stayed in a diaper and the hospital swaddle blankets. Flip flops in the shower are essential! Water bottle. Stool softener. DIAPERS! Body wash/face wash. Camera. And you and babies coming home outfit! Better to be over than underpacked haha.

Things didnt go to plan during my labour and I ended up having to stay 5 days in total and had no where near enough stuff packed! I would recommend packing a couple of extras of things so youre not worried about Kurt trying to find everything you need at home if you run out (especially clothes lol). Good luck with everything, its such an incredible journey 😍

@Miss Dani There's plenty of things that are none of anyone's business...for example, a chunk of the stuff Sezzy speaks of is none of anyone's business but she shares it anyways and ppl ask questions about what she shares. It doesn't hurt to ask a question. She can decide for herself to answer the question or not just like she made her own decision to comment what she commented.

Lulu Cats I just don't think it's something I want... I don't feel clucky even when all my friends are having kids. I'm 30 and just can't see myself settling down and committing to something so permanent. My mom had my little brother when I was 13 and I was the designated babysitter. I loved it so much but at the same time it made me get over that "nuturing" phase because I already did it. Plus I travel all the time for my job and I don't know... I think I would rather travel the world and be the fun crazy aunt 😂💃✈️

Wow! My mind is blown! Australian hospitals must be very different to UK ones on the NHS. I'm guessing you are paying for it? I had a birthing plan for my eldest which involved calming music and a yoga ball. Jokes on me, all of that went out the window as all I could think about was what was happening and the pain and the midwives weren't bothered about what was on the plan they just cracked on with it. We dont have the same midwife in the hospital as we do during pregnancy either, our system just isn't set up that way. Second boy I didn't even bother with a plan lol. Definitely pack more nappies! You and Kurt kept saying hospitals are cold. In my experience maternity wards are really warm but again in Australia it's probably air con not heating they have on. So nice to see you so excited. I really hope your labour goes the way you want it to. Big love and hugs lovely Sezzy xx

As for the diaper bag, my suggestion is put your most used items on the outside pockets if they fit, save you from digging, searching! Babies don't know how to wait, so having them easily and quickly accessible is key and less stressful for mommy! Oh i see you got the bigger ball...good job!

commenting a lot here, but this is really good if you are not doing it already: get aloe vera and witch hazel, apply to pads and then stick in the freezer (trust me this is amazing during recovery. Then get yourself a jug, fill with camomile tea, salt and lavender oil and pour that on you when you go a pee afterwards - helps with healing and stops any sting/pain. I was OK downstairs within days doing these two things. So excited for you, you are in for the best ride of your life. Don't worry about pain it really ins't that bad, it's fine just breathe and relax. good luck! x

So excited for you, I think you're well prepared! I had my little bub 6 months ago, had NO labour signs whatsoever and then had a couple of hours of active labour and she arrived on her due date. Can't wait to meet your little one! Good luck and lots of love from Canada ❤
P.s. Peri bottle is a little squirt bottle that you will have to squirt yourself down there after using the bathroom (usually can't wipe/helps to keep it clean and cool)

The thing I’m most glad that I did was pre-natally expressing colostrum! With my first baby, I ended up with some complications and was away from her for 3 hours and she was understandably starving. With my second, I prenatally expressed from 37 weeks and had built up quite a freezer stash by the time I went into labour. Labour and birth went perfectly but then he was diagnosed with jaundice and they wanted to do formula top ups to flush the jaundice out of his body but I had tones of colostrum so didn’t need any formula at all! So many uses 😍 and if you don’t need it for that, add it to his baths, it’s so good for his skin 😊

You can eat, but the hospital provides food and drink for you and the person who is with you. You only have to bring clothes for you and the baby, personal hygene products and not much else. There is no birth plan...the docs and nurses know what to do.

Pack things that won't cling to your groin. Seriously you will not want ANYTHING touching that area. Loose fitting err thang. Loosey goosey all the things because you will be sore and sensitive. Also- and I'm not at all saying this will happen- but in the event that a c-section is necessary, you will not want tight tops either. So just keep it all nice and floppy. Good luck :)

So fun! Can't wait to hear the good news in the coming days or weeks (but hopefully days).
PS - take your time with having a shower after your birth or hold off until you get home to take a proper one. I was encourage to take a shower at the hospital after my first baby, and I took a hot one. Long story short, I ended up passing out which apparently can be common. Do a light freshening up at the hospital and wait for home to really take in a shower.
