Peter is one of the finest martial arts performer I know. After Andy Hug he's my undisputed favorite fighter. He is just a great role model and a nice person who still stays on the botton of reality. Would give a lot to train a day with him. great documentary thank you very much for uploading the vid.
What a great video, this really shows how dedicated + devoted Peter is, and what kind of true! sportsmen + fighter he is. And he is really ''Mr K-1'' ! Hopefully he'll keep fighting on for some years, cause he's still one of the best K-1 fighters @ this moment!
@ZenPhilosopher123 Aerts and Hoost are the two legends in K-1. Aerts is called Mr. K1 and the Dutch Lumberjack, Hoost is called Mr. Perfect, they both won the GP many times. Aerts is personally more liked cause of his humbleness and respect, he is a true example of a living legend.
zlopy not realy, you hear hardly anything about it when you are not into it. you will never hear a convo about this between people. And on TV there is also not spend a lot of time in fighting competitions. the only thing thats real big in holland is football.
Oh I see... they should be proud to have so many great kickboxers that comes from Holland I think. I guess the majority of the people think it is a sport that is to dangerous.
zlopy i dont know why it is like this, the people that are interested do have good places to train and grow etc. so thats why there are bignames from such a small country but if you would ask any random dutch man who the dutch lumberjack is they will have no idea. such a strange thing. maybe because it is dangerous or maybe for some other weird reason
I am a bit late to the discussion, but the reason why it hasnt been picked up by the people ( especiall in the early K1 days ) is because of negative publicity by the media. They focused on showing a shady world, connected to crime organisations. All about demonising. I remember relying on Eurosport since there wasnt any coverage on any Dutch channel.
dont know about the young kids for those like me ( 40 ) and older , Aerts is always wil be the king of kickboxing and yes dutch MSM didnt do much for him .
Does anybody know - what is the name of a documentary - that highlights all of its top fighters and championships - I have watched it a long time ago and forgot the name...
Tough fighter Ignashov! One of my favorites in the beginning of his career. Unfortunately I don't know what happened with him...maybe a lack of interest or maybe laziness determined his disappearance from the ring. Though he is the only kickboxer that was never knocked out, despite the fact he fought against the biggest names in kickboxing.
Don't know what you mean by pride forever but this documentary highlighted all top fighters beginning from cikatic to the late remy bonjaski - mentioning fights of legendary fighters along the way like abidi, ignashov, andy hug etc etc.. its not about pride mma fights if thats what you meant.
@dtothez187 sorry, respect is not the good word. Hoost has a lot of respect too, but Aerts is just funny and a happy guy. He stayed the same after he became succesful, really normal guy
My Favorite Fighter.
TODO MI RESPETO Y ADMIRACION PARA ESTE GRANDE DEL KICKBOXING!

Holland should spend more time in broadcasting fighting competitions...
I thought the sport was huge over there?

Famous around the world except for the Netherlands because the slimy Dutch MSM doesn't spend a sec of broadcasting on them.
Yup its sad how rico verhoeven is more famous in NL than Peter ever was.
