Did both the savage and phantom method using exactly the same gear and bar as shown in the video (minus the Scripture of Wen). Got about 650k xp/h at savages and only 1m xp/hr at phantoms with 100% hit on both at 100+ necro lvl. So unless the Wen book gives 300k extra xp/hr or they hotfixed the xp rates, there's clearly something i'm missing here. Looking at the comments, it seems like many others are having the same issue.
For moss golems, you don't use death skulls because of adren, but I can't even keep devotion up because of adren. I'm assuming it's a relic thing, so those might be worth mentioning.
I'm at level 94 and using t90 weapons, t70 power armour and i can't even afk abyssal savages, i simply lose too much hp and have to eat (I'm maxxed every skill except necro of course) i don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Check the starting portion of the video, set up a reaver and pray magic with the autofire rate set to 7 (can go even lower if you want even more healing). Then with the same bar i showcase for them, you'll be fine.

I dont understand how abyssal savages are 900k an hour? Im maxed with lvl 82 necro. Tier 70 power gear. Tier 80 weapon with precise 6 and equilbrium 4. Luck of the dwarves, eof, kiln cape and tome of um 2. Im measuring about 500k an hour. Am i missing something?
Your weps are going to hinder your xp because of your accuracy - your damage will be reduced. With t90 weps it should be easy to get ~1m xp/hr with that bar in the video

How do you get 100% accuracy? I'm going through the early 80s of necro and don't understand accuracy at all. Also an osrs player so there's a big learning curve for me.
Accuracy in osrs is just how they determine the miss chance of an attack. With Necromancy, if you have 95% accuracy, that means you do 5% less damage, instead of splashing 5% of the time.

Avoid using the sticky bomb method for the armoured phantoms. It messes up their hitboxes and they end up stacking on each other which lets multiple hit you and you start to get specd
at 13:50 the armoured phantom in front walks inside another one letting multiple hit you. Even if you kill one the hitbox stays bugged and more stack. I think you might just have to kill the one that got stickied as that is the one whose hitbox is bugged. I just found it annoying so i went without stickys@@MaikeruRS
Having difficult getting the Abyssal Beasts method to work, without a familiar. Short of putting Blood Siphon toward the near-front of my bar, I'm consistently dropping below 3k and have even signed once.
Yeah I have the same experience, it's fine most of the time but occasionally I sign and I've even died a few times. I've been testing out whether to use some demon slayer gear or the tank gear instead. Can't find a balance that keeps good exp/hr though
Yeah as odd as it is to say, I'm getting nearly comparable rates over at Asylum Savages, for far less preparation. Sitting at about ~850k xp/hr, and never drop below 70% health. My setup for the Beasts currently is: Full t90 Weapons+Power armour. Essence of Finality, Ring of Death, Zuk Necro Cape, Quiver (With Onyx Bolts (e) as ammo for looting and Prayer), Jas/Wen Book (depends if I have pages for Wen). Perks are: Precise6-Aftershock1, Equilibrium4-Ruthless3 (I know As4P2 is ideal for AoE, but didn't want to invest in that for a perk I won't use down the road). Biting4, Scavenging4, Relentless5-Crackling4, Invigorating4-Demon Slayer. No familiar. Inventory consists of their loot so I can just press spacebar for profit. Elder Overloads, Aggression Potions, Elven Ritual Shard, runes for Darkness. I've tried Penance aura, Prayer stays fine, but health drops. I've tried Vampyrism aura with penance Powder, and I still signed. I use Soul Split+Sorrow prayers. I have yet to try Vampyrism aura+Deflect Melee. I also use an identical action bar to the one shown at the Beasts segment of the video. I also stand in the middle of the Small room, if that has any impact, and am currently 111 Necromancy. I don't know... for the time it took to acquire the souls, I almost just don't feel it's worth it compared to even just Asylum Savages. I was barely maintaining 900k xp/hr at Beasts. Not sure what I'm doing wrong that makes my approach drastically different from everyone else's experience lol.
@@CommanderWaterSoulI've been doing more testing today and having 3 pieces of demon slayer gear (helm, boots, gloves) has been far more consistent than using the t90 necro for those pieces even though it's off-style. I sign and almost die every hour with full necro gear, but I've done 3 hours with demon slayer gear and haven't signed. One close call but didn't even use excalibur to see if I would sign and it brought it back. My set up is almost the same as yours but I don't have the demon slayer perk and only biting 3 not 4. I'm 120 necro and am sitting about 970-990k/hr now and it's way better. I've just been keeping the vamp aura up and using powder of penance for prayer. Oh, and I haven't been using darkness for this either so that would make it a bit safer too. Using deflect melee seems worse than soul split from what I've experienced fyi
How it currently stands, darkness stops auto retaliate when you dodge hits, so that can cause issues with surviving ironically. But they are fixing this tomorrow and that using darkness should help, alongside if you are not using a familiar, something as simple as a bunyip can also make a big difference with small heals leading up until your next blood syphon. I completely agree though, abyssal beasts definitely are not really worth the time to get the souls for when savages exist (only downside is the crowded nature)
Indeed the crowded nature of Savages is why I wanted to go with the Beast route lol. Granted the Asylum isn’t too bad these days and I might only hop ~5 worlds before finding an open one. Will definitely be giving the Beasts another go after the patches tomorrow, between the patch for Darkness, and also increasing the window to activate the 2nd and 3rd tiers of the Scythe, should make the QoL a little smoother. (Though they are also increasing the amount of Scythe targets from 9 to 25 for tiers 2 and 3, which might actually boost Savages slightly. We shall have to see tomorrow)
im sticking with ravenous ghouls, no potions needed, no aura, nothing. just walk in, sit there and avoid log out timer. Bone crusher keeps your prayer at maximum. 650-700k an hour. i can have it running on my phone in my pocket and we're good, i dont even have to check the screen to see whats happening. i just move the camera.
That's fair, I don't mind using a potion every 8 mins with incense or 6mins without, for 2x that xp rate personally, but whatever works for you. They're a viable choice
Agreed. All of the popular Afk methods blow through money like crazy. Aggression pots, Wen book, reaver ring, incense sticks all of these prices shot up after necro's release whereas Ghouls are completely free just crowded
If you simply pick up loot every so often, all that stuff is paid for at a lot of the places though. (alongside not even needing to pick up spring clearer GP which is a huge chunk in many areas and that alone pays for upkeep of setups sometimes)
You mean the armoured phantoms? Your cannon breaks and needs to be repaired every 20mins, even with the restocking unlocked. So to repair it, you use the sticky bombs. If you dont have the auto reload i guess you would be stick bombing every few minutes instead of 20 and i doubt it'd be worth.
You can just lure the phantoms to the cannon and then run back and spam click call follower while having auto attack off, hardly messed up the lure that way
Can you think of a mob that’s maybe 500-700k but doesn’t require a mob that’s overcrowded? Even golems have people now that people are freaking out about the ritual nerf.
The scythe had a change since this video came out. The timer between casts of scythe is much longer so it doesn't time out and go on cooldown as often.
Honestly, unsure. But they're 'fixing' the death skulls re-applying effects soon i believe. But they said they liked the ramping damage, so might be tweaked in relation idk
Nope, not patched, but as i said in the video - you cannot stand ontop of the plat or walk over it, then it doesnt work. You need to dive into the spot

I didn't want to spend 10minutes on every single monster speaking over every little thing in the gear set-up. It's better to give the key things like bars and focus on that as its the most important. I like to think people have enough knowledge to do the small stuff themselves - like you already have as you literally said you've perked your gear regardless. So I'm guessing most others will be like you, hence why i didn't add it as it's clearly not needed in your situation and many others :) Wasted video time causes people to be uninterested, thanks for the youtube advice, but i think we're good.

Do not use the bars shown in the video. Look at the necromancy bars shown in the rs wiki article for necromancy training. For the savages the placement is super important. You should stand in the area shown in the video. South of you there should be mounted skulls on spikes at the fence and east of you the northern end of the rock you can see on the minimap. Sorry for the complicated instructions. Standing in the right spot can make a difference of 200k xp/h. Do not expect 1m xp/h there if you are level 80, it will be more around 500k-750k xp/h, but it is the best method for lvl 80-90. The golems give less necromancy xp and gp than the beasts in pod, but if you want to get free slayer xp you can use wildcards and use the improved cinderbanes drop rate to pay for them. Will be around +/- 0 gp/h but, over 1.2m slayer xp/h. You can also use demon slayer gloves, boots and hood at savages and beasts. With that beasts in pod give up to 1.3m xp/h and around 14m gp/h.
Thank you for this. After struggling for hours I was finally able to hit that sweet 1m+ xp per hour. Also was able to retire my blood reaver, saves a shitload of time aswell.
Things get messy when Phantoms use their special attack after 5 auto attacks. Dont know why you dont get them and I do here and there. I got 99 Necro with t90 weapons and 90 tank armour. Any idea why my dps won't suffice?

Yeah, that bar with zuk cape is BIS for phantoms, even though its only 4 abilities (5 because it uses the normal auto when those are on cooldown) its crazy good DPS. Anything extra stops you being able to consistently use skulls and you get adren starved and your dps output suffers, hence getting those specs and not healing enough from soulsplit ontop of that
@@MaikeruRS so I checked your video again and it turned out I was actually standing in the wrong spot like two tiles west I think next to the bones on the ground. This detail got me from 800k to 1,3m/h. Even got my codex before the alleged platypus nerf so I'm done here. Thanks a lot :)

100% adren is far too much, and it bounces 2 less times. Definitely don't add it to a revo bar without the cape, the bars for stuff like savages are the types of bars you'd use without it :D (or more defensive without at golems)
I love the abyssal beast the most but its immpossible to catch their souls... after 2000 kills I achieved only 1 soul.. I use cursed ushabti and on-task kills and it still at that rate...
you're going to want tank armour and darkness, they hit very hard and as you're not soulsplitting, the little bit of extra damage doesnt keep you alive vs the tanky armour

It took me about 8 hours to collect the souls for abyssal beasts lmao. Just for me to learn in this video that theyre actually slightly worse XP than the savages. RIP

Though I did get crashed one day by some dickhead with a cannon 😒 But since I spent like almost 8 hours trying to get these souls I'm gonna use them. I'll see what tomorrow is like and decide from there what to do.
The internal box gives extra buffs which only works in the wild (extra damage & def). Also, the will be aggressive 100% of the time without needing a pot
This is how I AFK abyssal beast I almost never fall below 75% health. WEARABLES: T90 tank armor/weapons Cinderbanes Vampirism aura and Scrimshaw INVENTORY: ~ Potions- (overloads,aggressions weaponpoison++). Penance powder Kwuam Incense sticks Food Necro plasm, and all Necrovarus runes Ice Nihil. INSTRUCTIONS: cast darkness and putrid zombie as often as possible.
Vamp scrim does indeed only work with melee, cinderbanes take away your xp from necro, there is a lot of things that you would change in your set-up for increased xp. The set-up i showed literally doesnt ever die either and would net more XP/HR
jagex completely ruined the early/mid game for training with the xp chances. it can't be that ankou is my best xp possibility until i'm at least 85 slayer. there were good chances for the race. but with what feels like 80% of the base is max, they have no understanding at all for new accounts/players. the monsters simply have too little life. I don't have a problem with not being able to fight indefinitely. I even think that's a good thing. through the comments here i found ravenous ghoul. I'll have a look. a guide for the combat level is missing if you are not maxed out with real experiences and not just theory.
If you're new to the game literally just train slayer while leveling necro and have fun man... Training slayer means in the future this'll apply to you, if you ignore slayer completely, you'll never get "good" rates that you're looking for. It's honestly super fun levelling slayer with necro ngl, I wish i had it when i was a newer.
I would love to be able to use t90 gear but Jagex has chosen to exclude people like myself that cant boss from acquiring it. Almost lvl 91 atm and I will get lvl99 in spite of the Jagex forced bossing poliçy. Even if I have to kill skellies in Edgeville dungeon. There should be a path to include all players to get these items. They made a way to kill Zammy for a quest so non bossing players could do it.
The tank armour doesn't require anything too crazy, with a little bit of time anyone could get those tasks done. Especially with how strong necromancy is at level 90 I do agree with the T90 power armour though, those tasks include some really tough bosses.
@@MaikeruRS I suppose anyone that can do those bosses could. The simple fact of the matter is that. I cant. So it's skellies for me. Inclusive isn't in the Jagex dictionary.
@@williewonka3574 The only thing stopping you is yourself. Unlock the tank gear, craft t90 weapons, and then give Ambassador a try. Failing that, you can always make the t90 tank gear and use that for combat. Full set t90 Deathwarden + Darkness is absolutely insane for not taking damage and can, honestly, trivialise fights more than Animate Dead.

Use a bunyip. A reaver isn't necessary at all in my testing - at savages anyway
At lower levels I needed a reaver, especially with dps armour, definitely would recommend it until you're about 99+

I feel like the chance of rare drops is a pro for the moss golems. Torn pages and a shot at cinderbanes or elven ritual shard.

At most I get from savages is 550k an hr compared to 620k an hr at the temple senn with the same revo bar am I doing anything wrong

Solved the survival issues for myself by including the ghost conjure, doesn't really change my xp gains tho
Could also try out using darkness incantation 👍(also remember do not use skulls without zuk cape)

Essence of Finality, Ring of Death, Zuk Necro Cape, Quiver (With Onyx Bolts (e) as ammo for looting and Prayer), Jas/Wen Book (depends if I have pages for Wen). Perks are: Precise6-Aftershock1, Equilibrium4-Ruthless3 (I know As4P2 is ideal for AoE, but didn't want to invest in that for a perk I won't use down the road). Biting4, Scavenging4, Relentless5-Crackling4, Invigorating4-Demon Slayer. No familiar. Inventory consists of their loot so I can just press spacebar for profit. Elder Overloads, Aggression Potions, Elven Ritual Shard, runes for Darkness. I've tried Penance aura, Prayer stays fine, but health drops. I've tried Vampyrism aura with penance Powder, and I still signed. I use Soul Split+Sorrow prayers. I have yet to try Vampyrism aura+Deflect Melee. I also use an identical action bar to the one shown at the Beasts segment of the video. I also stand in the middle of the Small room, if that has any impact, and am currently 111 Necromancy.
I don't know... for the time it took to acquire the souls, I almost just don't feel it's worth it compared to even just Asylum Savages. I was barely maintaining 900k xp/hr at Beasts. Not sure what I'm doing wrong that makes my approach drastically different from everyone else's experience lol.
@@CommanderWaterSoulI've been doing more testing today and having 3 pieces of demon slayer gear (helm, boots, gloves) has been far more consistent than using the t90 necro for those pieces even though it's off-style. I sign and almost die every hour with full necro gear, but I've done 3 hours with demon slayer gear and haven't signed. One close call but didn't even use excalibur to see if I would sign and it brought it back.
My set up is almost the same as yours but I don't have the demon slayer perk and only biting 3 not 4. I'm 120 necro and am sitting about 970-990k/hr now and it's way better. I've just been keeping the vamp aura up and using powder of penance for prayer.
Oh, and I haven't been using darkness for this either so that would make it a bit safer too.
Using deflect melee seems worse than soul split from what I've experienced fyi
How it currently stands, darkness stops auto retaliate when you dodge hits, so that can cause issues with surviving ironically.
But they are fixing this tomorrow and that using darkness should help, alongside if you are not using a familiar, something as simple as a bunyip can also make a big difference with small heals leading up until your next blood syphon.
I completely agree though, abyssal beasts definitely are not really worth the time to get the souls for when savages exist (only downside is the crowded nature)
Indeed the crowded nature of Savages is why I wanted to go with the Beast route lol. Granted the Asylum isn’t too bad these days and I might only hop ~5 worlds before finding an open one. Will definitely be giving the Beasts another go after the patches tomorrow, between the patch for Darkness, and also increasing the window to activate the 2nd and 3rd tiers of the Scythe, should make the QoL a little smoother. (Though they are also increasing the amount of Scythe targets from 9 to 25 for tiers 2 and 3, which might actually boost Savages slightly. We shall have to see tomorrow)
im sticking with ravenous ghouls, no potions needed, no aura, nothing. just walk in, sit there and avoid log out timer.
Bone crusher keeps your prayer at maximum.
650-700k an hour. i can have it running on my phone in my pocket and we're good, i dont even have to check the screen to see whats happening. i just move the camera.
That's fair, I don't mind using a potion every 8 mins with incense or 6mins without, for 2x that xp rate personally, but whatever works for you. They're a viable choice

Agreed. All of the popular Afk methods blow through money like crazy. Aggression pots, Wen book, reaver ring, incense sticks all of these prices shot up after necro's release whereas Ghouls are completely free just crowded
If you simply pick up loot every so often, all that stuff is paid for at a lot of the places though. (alongside not even needing to pick up spring clearer GP which is a huge chunk in many areas and that alone pays for upkeep of setups sometimes)

You mean the armoured phantoms?
Your cannon breaks and needs to be repaired every 20mins, even with the restocking unlocked. So to repair it, you use the sticky bombs.
If you dont have the auto reload i guess you would be stick bombing every few minutes instead of 20 and i doubt it'd be worth.

Yeah, you need aggression pots for them after they stop aggroing (otherwise you have to leave and re-enter your dungeon)

You can just lure the phantoms to the cannon and then run back and spam click call follower while having auto attack off, hardly messed up the lure that way
You dont need zuk cape for the phantoms, unless you use adren pot, youll never have enough adren for the skullls
Can you think of a mob that’s maybe 500-700k but doesn’t require a mob that’s overcrowded? Even golems have people now that people are freaking out about the ritual nerf.
All good monsters are crowded sadly, even other things before these like abyssal demons, armoured zombies, ravenous ghouls etc.
now that phantom casting is free, rplace the death skulls with it. skulls will never go off and phantom will heal you/boost dmg
I put the Abby Beasts in the PSD but I cannot seem to hold aggro to all of them even with Aggro Potions. 1 or 2 keeps walking away lol.

how come i can't get enough adrenaline for death skulls at phantoms? The scythe just eats it all and can never get above 50, let alone 60
The scythe had a change since this video came out. The timer between casts of scythe is much longer so it doesn't time out and go on cooldown as often.
Does death skull stack the ripper dmg buff too?
Honestly, unsure. But they're 'fixing' the death skulls re-applying effects soon i believe. But they said they liked the ramping damage, so might be tweaked in relation idk

Nope, not patched, but as i said in the video - you cannot stand ontop of the plat or walk over it, then it doesnt work. You need to dive into the spot

@@MaikeruRS I know as I am afk-ing now, but it was just a point for potential improvement.
I didn't want to spend 10minutes on every single monster speaking over every little thing in the gear set-up. It's better to give the key things like bars and focus on that as its the most important.
I like to think people have enough knowledge to do the small stuff themselves - like you already have as you literally said you've perked your gear regardless. So I'm guessing most others will be like you, hence why i didn't add it as it's clearly not needed in your situation and many others :)

Do not use the bars shown in the video. Look at the necromancy bars shown in the rs wiki article for necromancy training.
For the savages the placement is super important. You should stand in the area shown in the video. South of you there should be mounted skulls on spikes at the fence and east of you the northern end of the rock you can see on the minimap. Sorry for the complicated instructions. Standing in the right spot can make a difference of 200k xp/h. Do not expect 1m xp/h there if you are level 80, it will be more around 500k-750k xp/h, but it is the best method for lvl 80-90.
The golems give less necromancy xp and gp than the beasts in pod, but if you want to get free slayer xp you can use wildcards and use the improved cinderbanes drop rate to pay for them. Will be around +/- 0 gp/h but, over 1.2m slayer xp/h.
You can also use demon slayer gloves, boots and hood at savages and beasts. With that beasts in pod give up to 1.3m xp/h and around 14m gp/h.
Thank you for this. After struggling for hours I was finally able to hit that sweet 1m+ xp per hour. Also was able to retire my blood reaver, saves a shitload of time aswell.

Things get messy when Phantoms use their special attack after 5 auto attacks. Dont know why you dont get them and I do here and there. I got 99 Necro with t90 weapons and 90 tank armour. Any idea why my dps won't suffice?

Yeah, that bar with zuk cape is BIS for phantoms, even though its only 4 abilities (5 because it uses the normal auto when those are on cooldown) its crazy good DPS. Anything extra stops you being able to consistently use skulls and you get adren starved and your dps output suffers, hence getting those specs and not healing enough from soulsplit ontop of that

100% adren is far too much, and it bounces 2 less times. Definitely don't add it to a revo bar without the cape, the bars for stuff like savages are the types of bars you'd use without it :D (or more defensive without at golems)

I love the abyssal beast the most but its immpossible to catch their souls... after 2000 kills I achieved only 1 soul..
I use cursed ushabti and on-task kills and it still at that rate...
I wonder how bad I'd get wrecked trying the golems with the t95 set instead lol
you're going to want tank armour and darkness, they hit very hard and as you're not soulsplitting, the little bit of extra damage doesnt keep you alive vs the tanky armour

The internal box gives extra buffs which only works in the wild (extra damage & def). Also, the will be aggressive 100% of the time without needing a pot

Fyi vamp scrim only works for melee attacks, unless it’s been changed recently
Vamp scrim does indeed only work with melee, cinderbanes take away your xp from necro, there is a lot of things that you would change in your set-up for increased xp.
The set-up i showed literally doesnt ever die either and would net more XP/HR

jagex completely ruined the early/mid game for training with the xp chances. it can't be that ankou is my best xp possibility until i'm at least 85 slayer. there were good chances for the race. but with what feels like 80% of the base is max, they have no understanding at all for new accounts/players. the monsters simply have too little life. I don't have a problem with not being able to fight indefinitely. I even think that's a good thing. through the comments here i found ravenous ghoul. I'll have a look. a guide for the combat level is missing if you are not maxed out with real experiences and not just theory.
If you're new to the game literally just train slayer while leveling necro and have fun man...
Training slayer means in the future this'll apply to you, if you ignore slayer completely, you'll never get "good" rates that you're looking for.
It's honestly super fun levelling slayer with necro ngl, I wish i had it when i was a newer.
They drop the secondary to Necro pots so that's a plus.
I would love to be able to use t90 gear but Jagex has chosen to exclude people like myself that cant boss from acquiring it.
Almost lvl 91 atm and I will get lvl99 in spite of the Jagex forced bossing poliçy. Even if I have to kill skellies in Edgeville dungeon.
There should be a path to include all players to get these items. They made a way to kill Zammy for a quest so non bossing players could do it.
The tank armour doesn't require anything too crazy, with a little bit of time anyone could get those tasks done. Especially with how strong necromancy is at level 90
I do agree with the T90 power armour though, those tasks include some really tough bosses.

The t90 tank armor tasks are very easy I don’t boss and I got it and I just got a clannie to help me with getting t90 power

@@williewonka3574 The only thing stopping you is yourself. Unlock the tank gear, craft t90 weapons, and then give Ambassador a try. Failing that, you can always make the t90 tank gear and use that for combat. Full set t90 Deathwarden + Darkness is absolutely insane for not taking damage and can, honestly, trivialise fights more than Animate Dead.
