The Lonesome Ace Stringband Chris Coole - Banjo, Max Heineman - Bass, John Showman - Fiddle www.lonesomeace.com A traditional tune we heard on a Dan Gellart recording.
Now my joint-favourite version of this song, along with the Smothers Brothers th-cam.com/video/4LEfWjHCPVY/w-d-xo.html PS, recently saw the Lonesome Ace Stringband in Scotland. Haste ye back!
Traditional in the sense that the roots of the tune/song are old enough that the composer is unknown (at least to us). We aren't implying that our playing style is traditional.
I can't even describe how happy this video makes me. I love your version of Boatman

What is John's fiddle tuned to!?!? I'm a derpy beginner that usually plays irish trying to figure out how to do this. Super confused.
Fantastic stuff ,is this the same banjo tuning that you use on hills of Mexico
indeed FDGCD
Anybody able to say what key this is in or what tuning?
Key of F....banjo is FDGCD, not sure about the fiddle
Thanks very much I want to play my claw hammer along with this and of course didn’t try the f tuning so thanks again!
