Playing in Japan is probably the best thing for DeFalco right now. If the style of play and culture mellow him out a bit, it'll be critical in his progression. Right now, he's very similar to Bokuto. Sekita went away from him almost completely in the 3rd and 4th and forced the match winner into his hand. Very smart and cerebral setter knowing their connection is completely off at the moment, but also understanding how he needs to keep him involved at critical points. Will be interesting to see how they develop throughout the season.
Do you know why he decided to play in Japan? I know the japanese league is trying to become one of the "big 3" and contend with poland, russia, italy etc but what motivated him, luccareli, nimir, etc to play in japan? Do these japanese players know english and communicate in it? Or do they kinda just play with bad communication and figure it out? I do agree, japan has a heavy focus on discipline, technical ability and teamplay, so him playing there with his immense talent and athleticism will probably make his next national team performance insane. The struggles with mentality and composure in olympics were sad because hes arguably their 2nd best player but him having to be subbed out in important matches is rough.
Tbh I don’t think anything will mellow out Defalco. He’s been like that ever since his prep days. I almost forget how frustrated he gets because I almost expect him to lose his cool.
@@geegeeme3256 Is it necessarily a bad thing to have a firey player like that tho. You got the complete opposite in players who are incredibly calm and consistent like Anderson. I think Defalco just needs to figure out a way to not get in a rut when he gets mad. Him playing angry is alright but if he can get enough technically then maybe it wont put him off his game that much
Unfortunately, he suffered a shoulder muscle injury, but he is on his way back, gradually starting to attack again. We hope to see him back on the court soon!
Just so you know, "giving negativity the benefit of the doubt" doesn't make any sense in English. The phrase "Give *someone* the benefit of the doubt" means to trust that what they are saying is true even if it's a bit doubtful. You cannot give a concept such as 'negativity' the benefit of the doubt, because that would mean "I trust negativity", which does not make any sense. Hope this helps!
@@Kevin_Nguyen.he’s probably substituting “someone” for “negativity”. In this case I’m going to assume that by saying “negativity” he means Sekita. The commentator points out that DeFalco and Sekita were having “long conversations”. Judging by facial expressions we could derive that these “talks” weren’t exactly friendly nor rude. By the quality and amount that Sekita was setting DeFalco, you could say that there connection was giving a “negative” mood. DeFalco was definitely underperforming but not due to his ability, you can definitely see his demeanor slowly shift with the amount of sets he receives.
The whole floor being that colour is what makes it look so bad to me. If the outside of the field would be blue or something it might actually look well. The line colours would need to be changed then too ofc
think of the nba, where USA players return to after the olympics. even though there is an american team, there are still many local teams. Players like Ran Takahashi, Sekita, and Nishida all have different teams they play on during these times, and as you can see, other players from across the world can sign on and join these teams.
so do they play (and practice) with their respective teams as opponents most of the time, and only play as teammates a small percentage of the time to represent Japan in the Olympics and other tournaments? @Aisluin
@@erickperez8770so from Oct to May is when players on National Teams play for their club teams. Right now, players are in their club seasons, which is why you see Defalco (USA), Lucarelli (Brazil) playing in Japan. Club teams in Japan have no relation to the Japanese National Team, which is why you see players like Ran, Nishida and Sekita playing against each other instead of with each other. Hope that helps.
Sekita, Miyaura, Defalco, Lucarelli. What a stacked team.
You forgot kentaro
and ogawa
cant wait to see jtekt vs bluetons
25 - 11 is crazy in a professional game holy
yeah, the setter for tridents is pretty subpar, especially when compared to sekita
@@shogun1650 I actually disagree, 1:46:36 kinda says otherwise, I feel like their receiving/blocking was more at fault imo.
waiting for kento miyaura’s highlights. he already got 3/4 MVP + 7 aces in 1 match is crazy
Sekita sets are so precise, love it
Sekita a magnificent and great player.🤩✨️🤩✨️🤩✨️🤩✨️✨️🏐✨️🏐✨️🏐✨️🏐👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻👍🏻👏🏻🤗😊
This is almost the equivalent to a top tier boys club team against the national team 😂
Stings absolutely dominated this match holy
kentaro my goat getting all those crazy blocks in love to see it
I thought i never would see the day, where sekita is setting defalco

Is this the new team that has been formed after the VNL or it is just a friendly duo
Japanese League
VNL is national teams these are pro teams
Tj and Ma'a should be thinking of playing in the Japanese league so that they can be immersed into their volleyball culture
This might be the worst court color I’ve ever seen for volleyball
