After rewatching Man of Steel, I started to think about the film's final battle. General Zod attempts to destroy the world with his world-ending device, but Superman is able to stop him in a massive battle in Metropolis. During the battle, many buildings are destroyed, and as seen in Batman v Superman, many were injured and killed. Thinking through a criminal law perspective, I question whether Superman is really innocent or guilty for his crimes due to the collateral damage caused during the final battle of Man of Steel.
