- What is up everyone, in todays video I go out to Denison Dam to do some more lure hunting. Water had been running straight for about 2 months non stop so this was the perfect time to search since they had finally shut off. Go to dollar tree and get you a grabber next time. It will save your back from tons of bending over and bring a 5 gallon bucket to throw that stuff in. that's what I do.

Ya need 2 boogie boards. 1 for a bait box and 1 for the trashcan ❤. I LOVE to see folks clean up the SNAGS for humans & animals. Drag the boards behind with rope and you can ChanclaCheck every body of water quickly 😂

We don't get that good of a drain down out here in SoCal. I did get to scout the shores many yrs ago when the drought dropped many of lake levels and I did score on a whole mess of tackle and lures. Hope you didn't get any infections for wading into that stank water. Notice that there weren't even any scavengers cleaning up.
I've got a few hung up down there. Definitely a bunch of money.

Even though you weren't going to use that lure I wouldn't have thrown it away. It was a little on the rarer side and worth some money. It's looks like the common trend over at that dam seems to be poppers and spinner baits. I never understood people's obsession with spinner baits. I've never caught anything with those.
Yea I never had much luck with spinners either lol, just when targeting sandbags in creeks. I still have most of those lures and lead in my garage and working on making new jig head by melting down the lead.

Im not entirely sure why but I know when water drops some fish get trapped in the rocks
What reservoir is this it's so shallow, but has so many lures stuck on rocks! Is it always this shallow in the summer? If it is how the fish survive for the next year in such a shallow reservoir? I don't understand why so many people fish in such a shallow reservoir since the bass wouldn't be able to survive year round in such a water body. Awesome finds with those lures, buddy!
Thank you !! Its a hydro electric dam so they usually release water daily for a few hours. They may slow down and even stop for long periods of times, for example, if the dam needs work done internally or if the lake level is low.
@@reyreyfishing I've never seen a reservoir this small and this empty of water before! It must have been quite deep for quite some time for that many lures to be stuck on the bottom of it! If they drain the reservoir yearly there wouldn't be many fish at all in that reservoir because fish need time and a stable water body in order for them to grow and reproduce.

Yep you're right, they do float but most of the ones at the dam sink because people drill holes in them and fill them with BB's. This allows for farther casting, but you have to reel in a bit faster so it stay on top of the surface.

Bc they work sometimes haha but yea most ppl don’t know the rock structure well and get stuck. And fish always end up dying around this time every year and it smells like sulfur. I think low oxygen causes them to die

They been generating all afternoons from like 1-9pm and its been getting better, still not at its peak but in may it should be fire !!

lots of fish die when there's not much oxygen in the water and their bones just get stuck in the rocks.
