And getting sponsors to pay for things like your gear or to fly you out for a try out is very difficult as everyone else is competing for such few spots. Going to university and graduating (even if it’s for a job that doesn’t pay well) I would say puts you in a better position than risking everything on a career where only the best make it. I can be a halfway decent programmer and make $200k after 15 years. I can’t be halfway decent at football and keep playing after 15 years

@@BellaTheDogo Young players have a minimum award income set by the FA. Not sure if it's still the same but any player whos signed a pre contract (under 18's to full contract when they turn 18). They used to make 40k a year + all expenses paid for, including boarding and scholarships.

When you get to 250k per week, that's top of the league wages, City, Liverpool, Arsenal. Your wage largely depends on 2 things, Your age, and your skill.
