I bought the Kokatat Supernova recently. I tried several different dry suits and also dry trousers/jacket combos. The Supernova was by far the most comfortable. The neoprene collar with a cinch tighten cord allows you to slacken it off or tighten it up as required. The neoprene is very soft too compared to the other suits and jackets I tried. Unless you are going to be in the water a lot, the latex neck gaskets of full dry suits are too uncomfortable IMO. I think water ingress on the wrists is much more of an issue anyhow, your head and neck will be above the water line almost entirely if you fall in (hopefully, otherwise you will be drowning!). Only downside is the colors suck (like most Kokatat gear). I got the orange one but the blue is just as bad (no offense!). I put comfort and practicality above how it looks though, I’d highly recommend the Supernova.
This exactly the video I was looking for. I have a 10’ 2 man plastic pontoon boat and just looking for something in case I lose my balance and fall into cold water and need to get back into my boat. The lakes I fish are small and I only go out when conditions are mostly calmish.
That's been my experience. A get a little ingress but nothing approaching a significant risk. I'll trade some dampness for avoiding getting choked by a latex gasket all day.
Great vid! For reference, what size suit is that? I've got a barrel chest, but not super tall, so trying to guess best size. How do the socks work? Looks like you have the bottom cinched up? Thought you were without the socks, but maybe sock are in your shoes? Looking for way to compensate for legs being too long for me :)
Hi Jeremy, I'm about 250 5'10". This Drysuit has feet in it so those are just stuffed into my Astral shoes. If I was going to be in the water for a while I would have some nice socks underneath. Kokatat offers "King" sizing which makes it a little wider and not quite as tall. I just kind of roll up the extra leg length and it works ok for me. We have a XXL in stock now we could ship.
I appreciate your review. I’ve been researching dry and semi dry suits for awhile. Your review helped me out a lot.

You will be fine as long as you are dealing really cold water and big wave.
Is this the Hydrus 2.5 or the Hydrus 3.0?
That is the Hydrus 3.0.
Thanks for doing that so I don't have to!
What’s your build and what size do you have on? I’m thinking about ordering one.
I'm about 230 pounds, 5'10" and I'm wearing an XL.
What's the vest you wearing on top of the suit?
That is the Kokatat Hustle PFD. I am a huge fan. www.oregonpaddlesports.com/hustle-life-vest.html
HAHAHA!!! Cowabunga!
