bro it's fking less than 3 dollars and 75 cents if you're going to complain about change that you can find in the street floor then get off of youtube and go get a job
There's healthy for your body, and then theres healthy for your soul. If it tastes good and makes you feel good, it's healthy for the soul. And that is important-
Long John Silvers hit different durin the late 2000s. I remember the certain days gettin out of elementary school and my grandparents gettin it for dinner for me, my mom, and my uncles (we all lived together back then), because it was actually affordable to get a semi-surplus quantity of their product back then, and it used to actually be good, because that was back when it still had good quality. Quite a shame how most locations are gettin shut down because you can basically get their whole menu, which isn’t huge, at buffets.
90s too. The building is still there, but ljs left like 15 years ago. I remember my grandma taking me there. I actually used to crave it. Now it just makes me sad.
yo, same feeling here. i went here with my parents in the mid-late 2000s and just loving their fries, hushpuppies, and chicken planks. being a kid back then eating that shit meant the world. glad I got to experience that.
Agree with most here that Long John Silver's was a different animal in the 80's and 90's. I was happy when my family went there when I was a kid. Can't remember the last time I saw one just driving around these days.
LJS and Captain D's were really good when I had them, but that was like 30 years ago. Fried clams of that type are chewy no matter where you get them, btw.
You are right about the clams , the taste is ok but its rubbery The fish and chicken is great taste but maybe a little oily at times . It beats the heall out of any cornmeal battered fish any day of yhe week !
Im only nostalgic for it because my grandparents used to really love it. I have lots of memories of chilling with my grandparents and eating long john silvers. I remember the best things were the hush puppies.
This place went crazily downhill as I got older but my grandparents would always take me when I was kid and I would always get the fish and fries with hush puppies and I loved it ! Good memories
Wendy’s bacon cheeseburger is $3.99. Opened up the bun and the burger patty was the same size as a White Castle slider. Fast food restaurants are scamming people.
One time at LJS I actually got some of the best chicken I've ever had from a fast food place. So I went there again sometime, remembering my good experience. This time, the chicken was overcooked in the breading, and it had shrunk to half the width of the breading on the outside. So it's honestly a toss up.
Honestly shocked that theyre still in business. Remember eating at a combo LJS/ A&Ws as a kid in the early 00s and it was the middest mid meal i ever had.
LJS ain't that bad in my opinion. You just need to go to a separate location or a&w/LJS (same company) not a combination restaurant like KFC or Taco Bell (2 different companies now) with them as they only do about 30% of their menu, use different ingredients as well as use the the same fryers. Where I live in Tx, Separate and a&w/ljs have so much more to offer and have healthy choices like grilled shrimp and Salmon. More sides to choose from and better tasting overall. 😊
My father, now 94 used to take me to long John Silvers..... It was one of his favorites when I was younger however I enjoyed a and w's chili fritos! However today if I sampled like Sho, I would have elevated blood pressure, diabetes, and clogged carotid artery .....already have these, pre diabetes, ........ A&W 1966-1970 LJS 1971 - 1978!
I've had some good experiences with Long John's. Granted it isn't perfect but I'd say it does the job fairly adequately when you just want some fish and chicken RIGHT this second
we had one joined with an A&W place when i was younger it was good from what i remember and not as pricy as captains Ds they did a run with onion rings with the batter and they were great
I still remember eating at Long John Silvers as a kid with my family. Loved the fish with tartar sauce, but even as a kid i could tell that batter was way too unhealthy lol I also remember my dad ringing the bell near the door every time we left cause he was "satisfied with the meal" 🔔🤣🤣
Not gonna lie. Back in my secondary school days LJS was kinda like my go to meal when my mom was working a double shift and didn't cook for the day. I can't recall its name but it was a two chicken sandwiches for 2.99 sing dollars deal. I would get that after school and it would hold me down for lunch and dinner.
Apparently Anthony Bourdain the famous chef says the worst meal he ever had was Johnny Rockets I don’t know if you’d consider it fast food more like fast casual but I’ve heard Johnny Rockets is way too expensive for what it is I do a video reviewing Johnny Rockets to see if Anthony Bourdain was justified in ranking it the worst restaurant.
The worst thing about Johnny Rockets is that ridiculous show they do where everyone stops working to dance and lip synch at least once while you're there. It's demeaning to the staff and serves absolutely no purpose.
my friends and i would get unreasonably high and get their fish tacos back in the day when people used to at least try a little bit at fast food places
When you catch them on a good day, I think their fried fish is delicious. I usually go to the one in Orlando Florida when I visit there once a month. I always have great experience when I go there as soon as they open. Hot and fresh friedvfish is fire! Oh and don't forget the fried batter in the fish box is delicious also.
Hey Man, When we were in Florida we ate at a place called Checkers. The burgers were good. Have you done a review at Checkers? We dont have it in Canada
I like LJS and even tried the salmon and it was also deelish. I'm signed up for rewards so I rarely pay full price for anything in fact, I couldn' tell you the last time I did. A great way to cut through the greas is too add the Texas Pete hot sauce AND malt vinegar! I like those flavors and even add it to my hush puppies.
I loved their fish back in the day, salty or not, and am kinda bummed the location near me closed several years ago. (There's a combo KFC/LJS about 10 miles away, but it's not well run.) Miss how their restaurant used to look back in the day with ropes, nets, and other decorations.
Bro long John silvers was my go to every time I wanted chicken and fish, it was my childhood and sadly in 2018 they shut it down where I live, I miss it so much man
Genuinely as someone who has always loved LJS, it sucks seeing so much hate towards it. I’m not big on seafood, but their chicken and fries are awesome.
I have a deep love for long John silvers chicken tenders they are so unique because they have that fish batter on them it's just a taste I can't get anywhere else and it's so good if you find a decent one
People rag on Long Johns because it’s popular. Really it’s like any other fast food joint. When well managed and in a decent area; the food is usually alright or good. When it’s poorly managed or in a high crime rate area, it can very quickly turn buns.
I LOVED LJS when I was a kid in the 80s. I don't live near one so I hadn't had it in decades. A few years ago I was in a big city and thought I'd hit them up. It was so salty and greasy I thought for sure I was gonna stroke out. Maybe it was like that when I was a kid? But there's no way I could eat it now.
$3.69 for 3 shrimp is criminal lol
1.23$ for 1 shrimp
bro it's fking less than 3 dollars and 75 cents if you're going to complain about change that you can find in the street floor then get off of youtube and go get a job
What’s sadder is that I thought that was a good deal :,)

Long John sliver's is one of my favorite restaurants
I’ve never had a good meal at Long John Silvers, so shout out to whoever is working at the kitchen at your location.

Idk why people hate LJS. I always liked them & it's one of the only drive through spots where you can get different seafoods at.
Nice try you paid actor
the one where I live closed down back in 2020 cause they never reopened their lobby after covid 😔
I don't think you should be getting seafood from a drive through in the first place sounds sketchy af
@@wing9131I like the chicken and shrimp
Same season they hate Arby's. They never even tried it.
The LJS in my area is really good. The owner takes good care of his staff.
That’s awesome to hear 🙌
I actually love Long John Silvers unironically
Long John's was a childhood favorite. It's always been awesome to me. Sad to see it dying out.
It's dying out because it's TOO EXPENSIVE.
I've always liked LJS, it was fire back in the nineties! It actually breaks my heart that they're slowly disappearing!

if you are at wendy's you should just get a dave's single thats actually a normal sized burger
Where the fuck are you getting your Wendy's from?
Except you get nuggets, fries, and a drink with it for $4. $5 to include bacon or full size burger and $6 for both. That’s a bargain.

LJS chicken planks dipped in cocktail sauce is pretty bomb. Hushpuppies are tasty af. I always thought their fish and cole slaw was pretty good too.

Lol, damn. I went to Johnny Rockets one time, in Seoul; it was, fine. Nothing special but nothing horrible
Johnny Rockets is fine. It's nothing special, but then again, back when I ate it, it was on a cruise ship, so I might be a little bias.
The worst thing about Johnny Rockets is that ridiculous show they do where everyone stops working to dance and lip synch at least once while you're there. It's demeaning to the staff and serves absolutely no purpose.
Johnny Rockets is not the worst
I remember having it one time, it wasn't horrible but nothing crazy. Most of the food wasn't too bad though, just pretty basic
I love my local Long John Silvers. The batter is addicting and the fish and hushpuppies keep me coming back for more :)
How salty is the food at your Ljs? For some reason I've never had one that was never extremely salty
Back in the day my local LJS had a beer tap, drank there alot
my friends and i would get unreasonably high and get their fish tacos back in the day when people used to at least try a little bit at fast food places
The infamous 'Big Catch' was a crazy situation
See, I knew you wouldn’t hate it! You should’ve tried dipping the food in tartar sauce or cocktail sauce.
The clams are my favorite LOL
The Long John Silvers near me, the fried stuff has an "old/stale oil" taste to it.

For LJS is definitely heavily location based. Had some truly awful Long Johns before. I just stay away from those locations.

I like long John silvers, good memories as a kid
The only thing I crave from long John silver is their Baja fish taco
How do you rate pretty much everything under a 6 for the most part, then overall give it a 6?
i think some sauce wouldve elevated the scores a lot too, their food is good but a bunch of fried food thats dry and meant to be dipped
The one in my town is good when they are hopping if there not busy 😢
The hush puppies were always their best item.
My brother, I'm .5 seconds in and I'm elated, LJS finally getting the shake!
SO SPECIFIC 🗿
You gotta have the fish with the tartar sauce!
This place was amazing back before they closed
This is actually the best fast food chain, though perhaps only Culver’s is better
My family gets it every now and then, but we stick to the chicken, fries, and hushpuppies
Love LJS back in the early 2000s, they items they came out were much more creative & original but during 2010/2015 onwards it went downhill
I trust your judgement bro, keep it up!
If you want batter ask for cracklings, they will give you a box of tiny lightly fried crisps
The malt vinegar was the only reason I ever wanted LJS. I dunno what malt vinegar is but it pops off on that fish
To this day, I never had it.
You thought the hushpuppies were going to be sweet, perhaps you were thinking fritters?
Used to really like it since like 2013 onwards something just felt off or different
Hard to even find this place in SoCal.
An LJS opened in my city a while back, it lasted two months💀
as a kid my brother used to get a family pack of their fish and eat it cold from the fridge over a week
Basically, Long John Silvers is basically fried everything

At this point, Long John Silvers has to be a money laundering front
There’s a long John Silver’s in Westland, Michigan that I’ve never had a bad meal from the fish and chips is delicious
