Juha Jääskä is a beauty. Spent years on the 3rd/4th line in IFK just constantly doing the small things right, winning puck battles and transitioning the game from the defensive zone to the offensive zone. If IFK would spend a shift in their defensive zone Jääskä's line would come out for the face off and the next face-off would be in the offensive zone. Never had the most impressive stats but his points always came in big moments, including play-offs OT winners. Icetime and responsibility increased in the last 3 seasons in Liiga and so did his stats.
Jim Montgomery said the Blues where ready to "rock and roll tonight," and he wasn't lying. The Blues have had a tough time starting on time in a number of games this year, but this certainly wasn't one of those games. Very good start to the homestand.
Kastelic had a big time fafo moment. Absolute bs that Lilleberg got a game for defending himself. Why is somebody rushing to pick a fight with him less than 3 seconds left in a done game.
John Buccigross called the game of the century last night. Andrei Svechnikov turned into Jordan Staal once and Jack Roslovic turned into Jack Drury. There’s a reason why this guy isn’t allowed on television broadcasts.
I did not have a Staal hat trick on my bingo card tonight. There is no way I would have believed he would get a hat trick where one goal was shorthanded and none of the goals were empty nets.
According to Steve Dangle, J. Staal has 0.53 ppg so far. But against the leafs he has 1.4 ppg. So next time, Jordan Staal has to be on your bingo card..
Maybe im crazy... but looked to me like Lilleberg held his stick out to try and prevent getting run, and the bruins left arm coming up pushed the stick into his chin. Before getting knocked out by a rookie swede... lol.
I’ll tell you this much: the East this year is easily the most vicious dog fight in recent memory. Seriously, when was the last time the second wild card spot and last place in the conference were separated by only seven points at the halfway mark of the season? I got a feeling that fight is going to come down to literally the very last game, and the trade deadline is gonna be REAL interesting if that holds true.
So many of the games this year were UPL stealing one for the Sabres. He was fantastic but the rest of the Sabres played hard tonight. another great win. like you said though would be nice to see some consistency.
The joke to the Iowa Wild comment is referencing the fact that the Minnesota Wild had like 80% of its starting roster out on injury or sickness. So a lot of called up players from the Iowa Wild.
The Wild were missing 3 of our 4 top defense, our star scoring forward, plus a few other less relevant players. Plus the stomach bug is going through the team so we had guys vomiting as well. It was rough. (Also, the Iowa Wild is our AHL team.)
Because we have been on our worst stretch of games all season. It’s been a bad, BAD stretch. But hey, it’s good to see Rags and Devs having competitive games.
The Rangers played well but there's still a lack of 5 on 5 scoring. Regardless the PK tonight was pretty damn good from the Rangers- From a devils fan Also daily dose of Hughes turnovers smh.
Because devils suck. I’m a devils fan. This team is going to no where and this play style will never win a cup. Rangers never winning with this team either tho so idk why you being cocky.
Wild are getting completely shelled by injuries. Gotta just try to stay above water with some of these games until they can get their full roster back.
As a Minnesota fan I don't expect they'll ever get the full roster back. When is this team ever healthy? Wouldn't bet that they'd beat the Avs even with the full roster either. Rooting for them, but keeping expectations where they belong: a slow decline to a first round exit and hopefully hit 'em hard next year when the cap issues are mostly gone. Hope I'm wrong about the first round exit.
THG, I’m begging you for the next power rankings to drop the Bruins to 32. This dysfunctional, slow, lazy, underachieving group deserves nothing else other than being number 32 in your board. I also hope Don Sweeney finally gets fired but that might be wishful thinking for now.
All this THG - oh & while you’re on it move Pittsburgh up 19ish spots to #1 after that gutsy Full Team Effort Win against McDavid Leon & Others . that’s points in their last 4 - they haven’t been playing terrible hockey in those 3 straight OT Losses against 2 elite teams & 1 rising unexpected team . Goaltending has been the only issue since end of November(actually all season but I say end of November because that’s when they started becoming an elite high scoring hockey team ) & they finally got a great game from NED - he’s our boy now . imagine they go on a run & finally shut up the unitiated … that would be beautiful .

Avs have been on a roll since trading their old goalies and getting the Woods. Only real reason they lost last game is because they thought it would be ideal for Miner to make his very first start against a last place team. I know some people will quickly say he wasn't the reason they only scored 1pt on the other end, but the truth is that when the team has someone in net that they don't have confidence in yet, they focus too much on trying to cover for them instead of playing their usual game,
Man this loss hurt for my ducks. Felt really bad for Dostall, as this just wasn’t his night. You know when Crosby entered the league 20 years ago I said I think this guy will play 25 seasons. Now, I have been a Crosby hater all the years he has played because I’m a huge Capitals fan Ovechkin fan. Now, I have to admit Crosby and what he is doing is extremely impressive. he looks so the same season after season and his play and effectiveness hasn’t really changed the past decade. Ovechkin is getting older yet still producing, but you see the end is approaching. He is an old hockey player with extreme talent, but he has lost his speed. He still has the creative touch and a hard and accurate shot. that’s it. The end is close. As much as that hurts. Crosby? The guy can play seemingly forever.
Shannon idk how the rangers pulled that win but I’ll take the two points especially if beating the devils is gonna possibly bring the rhythm back Vegas is gonna be their tuffest challenger yet so if they can beat the golden knights they might just be back finally
No sympathy about the injuries from Avs fans. We’ve dealt with an insane amount this season. The truth is that the Wild are fraudulent without kaprizov.
The Refs during the Pens-Oilers game were some of the worst I have seen in a long time. They called 3 super 10 ply penalties against the Pens and the Oilers were allowed to do whatever they wanted. The crowd was giving it the refs louder than I've heard at a Pens home game in years.
Thanks for the video! For Thursday, I went with the Sens, no, Bolts, yes, Devils, no, Stars, yes, Pens, yes, Blue Jackets, yes, Leafs, no, Blues, yes, Wild, no, and Knights, no. Tis but a scratch!

Bruins are missing the playoffs at this rate
On pace for 84 points, impossible to make playoffs with that kind of record
BOS is missing the playoffs. They just aren't good enough...and don't have the talent that FLA and TAM have. It is what it is.
They need a new GM. Signing Lindholm and Zadorov has slowed the offense and defense. Signing Swayman to an 8yr contract was a long term mistake.

Iowa Wild is the ahl team, so either a slip or a joke about the team being swamped with injuries and icing minor leaguers.

The Flyers are rocking 2 AHL goaltenders and 1 KHL champ that has been sat and doesn't have enough games to tell if he, too, belongs in the AHL.
