As another real boy of only 69 I have an immaculate 88 model that due to illness and circumstances I have not been on in FOUR years, and have been wondering if I would ever ride it again. In the last year both my circumstances and health have greatly improved, so I have been thinking about the Bike again. Normally I drive a big fat Lexus, and a stupidly big (for UK roads) Fleetwood Bounder RV, so am very spoiled, and have been taking the lazy, luxury choice for those years , but your video has inspired me, and the beautiful beast will be coming out again. Safe riding, Real Boy ✌ .
I've had both the 1100 and the 750, which were perfect for me as a shorter rider ,5'7". The 750 was ok but after the 1100 was just under powered. Would own another 1100 if I can find the spare $ and prepared to wait.
Sorry about the late reply! I was locked out of this account for a looong time. Hey glad the video got you stoked. You ever get those Viragos up and running ?
@@ondagowithrero4036 it’s all good, no still collecting dust in the garage and now it’s too cold to get out there lol. Just going to be caving in and going to a local motorcycle shop to get the proper parts for the single carb manifold I have. Tired of trying to make random Amazon parts fit
1000cc is 1 liter , and yes that is spelt correctly . In car terms ( just about everywhere other than the states ) we talk in litres instead of cubic inches. So your 5.6 v8 , is 5.6 litres, 5600 cc. My CRV is a 2.4 liter, Or 2400 cc, 4 cylinder.
Get a R1 if you want more power. These bikes are just good for slow bar hopping. February is a good time to get a good deal on bikes. I have a couple o couple o them, mostly Yamahas. We just call them Metric bikes. 1000cc. Still a good bike though. Stay alert, stay alive bro n Ride! Good luck
There is one for sale near me with 14,000 miles for $900 looks amazing I want to get it because it’s cheap and I don’t have much money but the only thing is all I’ve rode on is dirt bikes and I really think this would be too much power for me to start on any advice?
I don't know I had a shadow 500 power Wasn't bad it got up and went Yamaha never struck me to own Always owned a Honda followed by the Suzuki the Virago is a nice-looking bike it' 2022 when I'm watching this video looking to purchase another bike why pull the baffles out just replace the pipes with a performance pipe sounding loud doesn't make the bike sound good it's just an annoyance buy aftermarket exhaust that will sound louder and have at least a nice sounding pitch to it
ich habe selber eine 1100 Virago , in dem Beitrag wird immer wieder erwähnt ,Die Virago ist ein Fahrad ! Ich habe wenig ahnung von Amerikanisch ,der urhrsprung ist sicher englich . Bitte Erleutere Mich !
On Da Go With ReRo great to hear... today i woke up to minus 10 degrees C..... but like you, i think middle of march, i'm hopefully are on my bike...similar to yours. .
HI, have you taken this bike on any long distance rides ? I learned to ride on an XS250, similar style, but no guts, and on any rides over 100km or so I got a very sore back.
Hey Daryll. Not certain what you meant by "for so long" unless a couple minutes is too long in the middle of March, in Canada at -5 Degree Celsius. Old/Cold bike. I don't think a couple minutes of choke is uncalled for.

@@beardedcatguitarplus9485 I hear that! I hear the single carb set up is nice to have. Best luck!

hehe in Australia we called it ,,the poor mans Harley,,🙂
I'd still take this over a harley though. Most harleys are just noise makers
Beautiful bike

Cool, Freddy NB.
Choke on? Or you adjusted idle super high? Nice tune though, no typical virago popping.
I have an 82 750 virago with 14000 miles on it. It has half the hp as my harley and I ride'em all
You left your choke on buddy
Yeah, idling around 2000
No baffles, was it re-jetted? I have EXACT same bike, color and all.

Indeed. Went all last season with it. Looking forward to another season with it.

Hiya Shane! So far I've found I can ride for at least a couple hours without even really noticing it. Very comfortable.
I have a 1100 1996 all re done it is actually a special and yes better than a price of shit Harley fix or repair daily! Lol
Sounds like you need front brake pads...
why ride with the choke on for so long?

It's also possible, given that it was a new bike to me at the time, that I had forgotten it was on.
upstate ny?
That’s most definitely Canada, speedometer is in Km/h and you can spot a few Tim Horton’s doughnut shops
Indeed it is. Good eye. Sorry about the late reply. I was locked out of this account for a long time.
also, 4 strokes don't have a powerband
Daryll Flaro ? powerband this bike for certain have.. all register..
stock looks so terrible, def go for the bobber look
Iys idleing too high
Yeah I had recently got the bike, and was still a newer rider at the time. Long story short, I left the choke partially on most of the video haha.
I hate spell check! Litre, not liter.
