I'm happy you make use of some of the stuff you stopped using some time ago (money tree, harvestables, the eggs in the other fridge). Interactions between the Sims are also appreciated! So happy for Chaz and Hazel on their birthdays! Hazel's makeover suits her! It's a shame you don't get her any work gigs anymore :^(

It doesn't even matter what I think of Hazel's makeover (though ftr, I think she looks cute!) What matters is James left CAS feeling proud for once and it's a beautiful thing to see.
I really like hazel's makeover, I'm nervous people are gonna hate on the hair choice but I think it's fun that you paired cottage core style with some exciting edgy hair

I love how James remembers the store doesn't have simple living so he can cook the blue cake freely, then forgetting about it and confused bcs he still own 3 golden eggs despite the 3 cowberry jams in the inventory and cowberry jam don't need golden eggs😂
James should maybe make a fishing pond on the property, it might be fun for the kids :) The kids could also get into crafting, it would keep them busy, give them skills and could eventually earn money x

17:00 You could ask Kim to move in as a roommate. That way she won't lose her job as a grocery owner AND you don't have to control her. I've married her and have her keep her job that way.

I've been playing the Sims 4 for at least 6 years now and I seriously didnt know that you could blow candles on a cake on a Table. All my Sims have always celebrated their Birthdays in the kitchen counters.

I think the reason you lost your water reserve is because everything kept breaking at the same time, broken plumbing objects are a nightmare on off-the-grid lots because of how much water they waste.
You have to pick pets from the filter on the top of the “unlock door for” window. Go to 11:01 in your video and look at the pop up that comes up. Above the sims pics you can see the filters.
I approve of Hazel's makeover! Some new clothes and a nice new hairstyle really do make all the difference sometimes. And damn, that is a good mod -- I might have to pick that up myself, since I do like my painterly Sims to paint their loved ones, and the filter does kind of ruin portraits. . .

*If* you are interested in having Chaz continue the Bonehilda branch of the Bigwallets, but don't necessarily want to deal with romance for him (especially because I'm loving his current storyline), then Lumpinou has a Woohoo Wellness & Pregnancy Overhaul mod that includes a module for Alternative Pregnancies, including allowing sims to choose an outside Surrogate Sim to carry their child. Lumpinou does have it so that surrogacy costs money in game and there isn't a guarantee of conception (kinda like RL), but it does open more options for gameplay. This could even be something Chaz does towards the end of the LP (though there's an option for choosing the surrogate, and if you're interested in it being anyone on particular, remember aging). I'm just putting this out there because I love seeing the Bigwallet family tree continue to branch everywhere, but it's not anything that I'm going to get fussed over if it doesn't happen.

With it being a farm you could do a root cellar in the basement and do shelves of jam and conserve and like huge bags simulating seeds and feed for animals
Get a picnic table with a picnic basket and have them all eat outside it lifts all moods because they are sharing special memories of a picnic. Have the Chas's birthday on the farm. Have a water bucket with balloons and let them have some fun for the day.
I like the makeover but I would love to see Hazel with another outfit that has trousers for the farm! Personally wouldn't pick shorts for walking through muddy fields or being out in the rain/the world's climate since it would get cold fast!

Hazel had the best birthday - sold a masterpiece, created a masterpiece, got a makeover, spent quality time with her family and had cake.
Lowkey, James always does really fitting makeovers for his sims when he actually bothers to spend time in CAS.

I use the group feature to make things look more party like it realistic. So easy to just choose one person and say sit here together or something
