    Very nice presentation, thanks for sharing your tips and angles. Honey bee research and observation are very important for many of us. I have a great appreciation for finding more interesting ways to observe the bees. Thanks for sharing. Was the built-in led lighting system of any use to you, or was it just too limited? I wish you all the best, your presentation is outstanding! Thumbs UP.

    As a beekeeper and amateur wildlife photographer I can really appreciate the footage. It's nice to see what is going on inside a hive when you are not disturbing them during extraction. The banana smell is an amazing experience and like Dr. Fassbinder-Orth said, it's not a good time to work the bees when you smell that. Thanks for another great video!

    Wow! That was so cool and insightful. The laowa probe lens is incredible. To capture this footage is remarkable. I love this perspective of shooting. Not sure if it's a new style or not but I'm seeing it for the first time. Thanks for exposing this style of photography.

I like the vibe you have, the content you make and how you explain. Keep it up! So yeah, that's the reason I felt like I had to leave a comment. Oh and this video is really inspiring! Love the concept and can't wait for the finished video!

    I didn't know about the banana smell as a warning for bees! That's so interesting, and now I wonder if bees are around a banana, will they think the smell from it is a warning sign from other bees? I am squeamish when it comes to insects, but these shots are amazing and bees aren't as creepy-looking as some other insects, so I could watch this without getting too squeamish about the closeups haha XD This is so cool!

    That’s a pretty cool episode. I’ve been a beekeeper for about a decade now. Makes me want that Laowa macro lens. I’ve thought about it before.
    I get a kick out of how they apparently got new beekeeping protective gear for filming so everyone doesn’t look completely stained and filthy.

      @@TheWildlifeHomestead Ha. Yep. Beekeeping is loads of “fun” in that getup in baking hot temperatures, under the sun, working for hours lugging boxes full of honey around. I feel bad for the folks who combine that with oppressively high humidity.

    I understand the Laowa Probe Marco lenses are manual focus. Did that cause you any trouble along the way ? I’m planning to purchase a lens for more creative photography of the jewellery I make. Thank you.

    • @TheWildlifeHomestead
      @TheWildlifeHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When it comes to macro, I shoot pretty much all of it manual focus. The depth of field is so narrow that when I'd rely on autofocus (with other lenses), it wouldn't lock on to what I needed. So when using this lens in manual, it wasn't too much trouble. Just made sure to get a few takes of every shot/angle just to be sure one of them would work.

    Nice video as always ! :D
    Though as you said the topic with honey bees is pretty controversial.
    I would like to suggest watching one video about the problem with the honeybees:
    th-cam.com/video/VSYgDssQUtA/w-d-xo.html
    I used to think honeybees are a good idea but tbh. after having watched this video Im not so sure anymore.
    Not a critic just a suggestion for further information, more reasearch or just a different angled viewpoint at this topic.
