It's an Opel Ascona C. Pre- Wauxhall-Opel badge engineering of each other. The closest you would have got in the UK would have been the Cavalier of some description or another. The C iteration was in production from 1981 to 1988. The drummer in our band about 15 years ago had one, but it was a four door...
My uncle had an Opel manta that was of the Ascona family. He’d pull up outside the house and he’d say, “listen to the whistle, that’s the turbo’s” and all us kids be mesmerised and amazed that it was a turbo, when in actual fact I think the alternator was wearing out. Nice relaxing vid Fred.
The Opel Ascona was badged as a Vauxhall Cavalier in the UK and was very successful. They had a great reliability record and they achieved some very high mileage. Also, great video. Thanks.
Really enjoying your trips around Tenerife, I always thought it was just full of tourists so it's really interesting to see the old towns and learn some of the history. Looking forward to the next one 😀
Haven't missed a vid yet Freddie, great idea to relocate to Tenerife, getting more jealous every video as it gets colder here in Ireland, cherish every moment you and Monika spend there great to be young👍🏻👍🏻
Great the Opel Ascona! It was quite a common car on the Dutch roads before it was followed up by the Vectra. My father rented one every now and then when I was a kid. Great memories!
Very good video! Lived in Los Cristianos for a year and we loved to travel up north in the mountains with our car. Lovely to see the "other" stuff in Tenerife in your videos! Keep up the good work man! Hi to Monica :) Good to follow along from cold Sweden!
Always carry a little tool kit in your panniers, Freddie! I'm sure a lot of Triumph riders can tell you what bare essentials you need for your type of bike. Or at least a multi-tool in a belt pouch. You can actually tighten larger hex/allen bolts with the tip of a common multi-tool's needlenose pliers.
Cracking old road & views, good to get off the touristy routes, had the same issue with my mirror once, always carry a spanner since, happy riding Freddie & Monika👍
My Dad had a Vauxhall Cavalier company car like that, (4 door, not coupe) in that colour, but his had an eye-burn orange interior! 80’s chic! Great vid as always!
Opel Ascona coupe. That’s a rare beast nowadays. The four door version was pretty common in the 80s in Austria. They are an extremely rare sight now over here.
Tenerife is a small but such a varied Island, so nice to have you show it too us like this. You're definitely getting soft if you think that is cold lol. Sat here looking out at thick snow falling at the moment. Great videos as always, thanks.
The Ascona , as you may now know, was nothing more than an old European name for the Cavalier. I used to sell them in the late 80’s, or at least try, you couldn’t give those 2 door saloons away - they were never considered “coupe’s “ 😂 !! Loving your work!
Freddie! Always always carry water and a small tool kit! All you need is a small screwdriver or two, couple of spanners, some fuses, gaffer tape and CABLE TIES. Usually comes with one under the seat? Oh and maybe a thermal top each....although I suspect Monika is a little better organised on the heating front! My wife certainly is! Keep up the great work. loving your vlogs and now feel like we need to visit and explore!
Great vlog again, Freddie and Monika. Buena Vista Del Norte looks beautiful. No flies here in a freezing cold Norwich. Garachico has one of those lovely town squares, too. That final bit of winding road reminded me of when my wife and I got lost near Los Silos and we met an ambulance coming up the road! Keep entertaining us on these cold and wet weekends in the U.K.
Hi Freddie back in the day every Vauxhall car had it's Opel (German) equivalent..... they were classic 1980s cars and the models (in ascending order of size) were as follows... Vauxhall Nova/Opel Corsa Vauxhall Astra/Opel Kadett Vauxhall Cavalier/Opel Ascona Vauxhall Carlton/Opel Rekord Vauxhall Viceroy/Opel Commodore Vauxhall Royale/Opel Senator So your Opel Ascona was a rare coupe version of the Vauxhall Cavalier in the UK 🙂👍
As the others have said Freddie that's a late Mk2 Cavalier of a circa 1987 vintage, the equivalent spec in the UK was the SRi which had the same light/reflector array on the back and the sports interior. Again as others have said it only came in 4 and 5 door variants in the UK and was never released as a 2 door except as a cabrio version, though I believe some of the LHD Asconas were built in the UK and exported to Europe. The shape changed to the Mk3 shortly after.
Hi Freddie & Monika. Thanks for the enthusiastic vlog, seemed weird there was nobody there ? Glad the temp warmed up a bit when you got there, Keep em coming pls. Best TH-cam content out there .... Lee 🇬🇧
My father was a Opel /Vauxhall dealer here in Finland, so we had a lot of Opel Mantas' Opel Asconas, very good cars, mostly sold with 1.9 ltr, some with 1.6 ltr. Asconas were here popular also in rallies.
Nice work Freddie and Monika that was a Cavalier over here in the UK although the coupe is very rare! I was out on the America last week the temperature was 3 degrees so bike now wrapped up till the spring so keep your rides coming fella
That eerie quietness and lack of people in some small villages and towns at certain times of the day is something I also noticed on my tours of mainland Spain, Italy and Cyprus. They seem to take their siesta time very seriously. Then around 7pm the place suddenly becomes alive with people but by 11pm its a ghost town again.
Hi Freddie, another cracking vlog guys, the Opel Ascona in this video was the UKs mk2 Caviler in many variants. I don’t believe the UK released a two door coupe (maybe a cabriolet) if so for a short period, they did however produce the SRi and SRi130 which were the sport versions and quick in their day. My friends had this version of Caviler along with myself owning MK1 / MK2 Astra GTE’s. Classic Vauxhall of today. Keep-up these fantastic Vlogs.
yep spot on Vauxhall Caviller 3dr , gd cars in there day , remember bk in the day i was asked to be part of the pit team for the Peugeot challenge , 1.9 GTI very quick car in its day .... and i see you/he saw a Renault 5 lol ,
That Opal Ascona looks very similar to the Mk2 Vauxhall Cavalier that my dad owned back in the early 1980’s. 1.6LS model, 90BHP, good for around 110MPH with a long enough run at it. Had some amazing holidays throughout the U.K. in that car with my family.
Just discovered your channel dude. Ace! I’ve booked a week in Feb for a motorbike adventure….. I Will hire a bike for 3-5 days to explore… Keep up the good work…
Another great video, that road was fantastic with great vistas, I keep watching to see when your channel gets sponsored by the Tenerife tourist board. Love your invention of new words, “galeing”, that made me laugh.
Opel Ascona, methinks that was a Vauxhall Caviller in the UK, Collin’s father Jimmy McRea used to rally them with great success in the late 70’s. The Opel Ascona that is.
Hi Freddie, Opel Ascona GT UK General Motors variant was the Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 SR or SRI if fuel injected. I'd guess the Ascona you looked at being circa 1987 or 88 looking at the wheels and trim. All were available in hatch or saloon versions. Big difference between this, the mark 2 and the old mk1's was the newer were front wheel drive. Top motors, had two!
I was on holiday in Tenerife and was talking to a Czech man who lived in S Tenerife but he travelled to N quite often and he told me that July/Aug up there is in fact cooler than Prague.
Lol on your abandoned houses theory, wonder if they are worth it fixer uppers. Those flies were a mystery in spite of the fantastic cleanliness. The scenery so splendid. Yes a multi tool would be handy, so surprised with you 2 gadget people not have that.
When you go to Buenavista del Norte next time I recomend you to visit Punta de Teno, but the road is closed to the cars and motorbikes, only public buses are allowed. The bus ticket cost 1€ and it take fiveteen minutes to get there, Punta de Teno is a pristin lovely place. There is a litle beach, a lighthouse and a beautiful wiew of the clif called los Gigantes. That snaky road is not very old, it was made in the early 90's before that it was just a path, most of people use another road to get this area which is trought Garachico, the town where I live
A good spot of Buenavista is the Teno. But since a landslide (2016), the road have a lot of restrictions and you have to take a bus or going only on special scheule. The road is very dangerous dig into the cliff or holding to it by concrete and walls of rocks (really a not to go place for people with fear of heights). Basically is where the "Los gigantes cliffs" end. It's a weird place because suddenly is like you are at the south of the island. There is a lighthouse too but people go there mostly in summer to take sunset pictures. Whould be a great end for the video, but imposible in winter and nowadays, require a really good planification.
For fans of older European vehicles, the Opel Ascona isn’t exactly special per se but there’s more to it than you might think. The third and final generation of the model, produced between 1981 and 1988, helped the German brand with the transition to the 1990s when cars generally became more sophisticated, comfortable, and loaded with tech. The Ascona C was Opel's first effort for a relatively affordable yet large, well-equipped, and practical car driven by its front wheels. While it was never sold in the United States, it had the same bones - GM’s J platform - as the Chevrolet Cavalier CL, Pontiac J2000 LE, Oldsmobile Firenza LX, Buick Skyhawk Limited, and Cadillac Cimarron sold at this side of the big pond. Found this info online so basically the Opel was American based
Hi Freddie and Mon, I love your interesting trips around and about in Tenerife. Mons filming is so good it’s as if she’s not there but that’s a bit sad as she’s a pretty girl…. So more of Mon please mate. 👍. The Opal Ancona is a Vauxhall Cavalier in the UK mate…. Keep up the great vids please.
Thanks Colin! I’m still constantly trying with Monika but she’s shy and often cuts herself out of the videos (and as the edited, she has the final say!😆). BUT… I will get there with her so she appears more🙂
I love waking up to your sunny Tenerife videos. It's cold here in Wales (2C) and Friday night we had 80mph winds! The island looks a great place for a bike tour. It's a long way to go from the UK but Henry Cole did an interview with a company that rented bikes at what I thought was a very reasonable price. My friend had a 205 1.9 Gti, a pocket rocket.
It really is biking heaven! The best value rental on the island that I’ve found so far are from Ink and Ride (€60 a day), but I’ll find Henry Cole’s video and watch tgat🙂 Oh wow- what an incredible car (and investment) to own a 1.9 GTI!👌🏻👌🏻
I did a similar mistake once in the south of italy. It was sunny and warm on the beachside, but freezing cold up on the etna volcano. Stupid me drove up there on a scooter and a t-shirt, haha. Lucky me the volcano had some pretty warm areas so I could defreeze my fingers ;)
What a beautiful place and certainly some of the best roads you've taken us down to date. As for wrong clothing I was once ridiculed for taking an Aaron jumper to a Greek island but was left having the last laugh when we decided to return home using public transport as the ferries travelling across the Aegean sea at night are freezing :)
Freddie to solve your kit dilemma’s try out a EDZ wind proof shirt. Being very thin, They pack away really small but are very effective. Throughly recommended.
next time try to reach the real corner of the island, the road from buenavista to Teno bajo is open (i think from 10:00 to 19:00) very long tunnel, one of the roads where fast and furious was filmed and the sight when you arrive sure you will like
Hi , nice roads , I think the first donkey and it,s owner , had drunk a little to much Vino , when they set off for the coast . Keep an eye out for a Opal Manta coupe , mid 70,s an engineer I worked with had one and they also made a two seater sports car of similar shape . They are as rare has hens teeth now . Another great video , I,ll forgive you for the wonkey mirror , as you have spent so time , cleaning up the apartment for the arrival of Monika ,s mum . Ride safe and enjoy , looking forward to next time .
I love the Mantas- a really valuable (and incredibly rare as you mentioned) classic🙂👌🏻🚗 I’ll use Monika’s mum as my excuse for not properly looking after the bike😆
The abandoned dwellings on the mountainside were interesting. Is there an investment opportunity there? if there is power and water a local builder could renovate and use for eccentic visitors as holiday lets??
Good morn sir fred and monica camra woman par excellence and cat fancier love this vid you both nailed it take extra layers next time that town looked lovely it was white over here last night in Lincolnshire ! not atall jealous you lucky peeps 🐈
Nice video Freddie! On Buenavista there is a big restaurant down on the coast right next to the sea, delicious food but mostly fish related. But behind the restaurant there is a golf field also right next to the ocean with a path to walk, with the green golf field on your right and the see on your left. And i always thought that it look a lot like a traditional english countryside walk next to the ocean, i dont know, maybe its just me haha but it gives me british vibes, if you ever go back to Buenavista check it out.
Was the Opel Ascona 2.0 GT the basis for the MKI or MKII Cavalier in the UK? I was tempted to suggest that the car you have seen was sold as a Cavalier SportsHatch, but my recollection for that was that it had a more sloping rear boot and more updated aerodynamics than the one in your vlog. Not sure that this helps, but I suspect that it is a Cavalier of some flavour?
Hi Freddie. Enjoying your videos :) really jealous sitting here in Coventry, zero degrees *** I had a car like that in green with a sloped back. Mines was a Vauxhall Cavalier GLX. Keep up the good work. Love your bike and the freedom it gives you both round the island. Nice to see you go round Fuerta. My fav :)
Thanks Steven!🙂 I’ve heard the weather’s really dropped off back in the UK!😳🥶 I love those old sloped back ones- they’ve aged really well👌🏻 Great shout- Fuerta will be done soon! Are the beaches as mind blowing as they look on google???😳
@@FreddieDobbs yes. Correlao is a nice big town., north of the island... But not far are the sand dunes. They are amazing. Also get a boat trip to lobos. Out of this world. Especially for surfing. Waves are crazy. Would be great for your videos. South of the island. Is a place could Costa calma. Also very nice👍
Ha, I had a 205 when I came back from the States, has a turning circle of a lincoln and the windshield constantly fogged up...not a favourite, those roads man, more falling than riding down those windy tracks, well done, hope the mirror got sorted!!!!
Very rare. The Vauxhall version went out of production very quickly with few customers. Opel offered the Manta at the same time. I had one of these attractive machines. 1.9 engine, purple! The Firenza was more popular. By the way congratulations on your mention/recommendation on TMF's live chat this week. Highly amusing chat/Q&A with Richie Vida, Teapot one and Lamb chop rides . It's over 2 hours but time well spent!
Only ever remember seeing a few of the 2 doors, most where 4 door or 5 door hatch backs in the 1980’s company car boom. I had a 5 door SRi 1800 white with the black strip on bottom of the door also recaro seats 😀😀😀
Comparing with 2 other Canaries island we've been to (not Tenerife - how did we miss that??) Lanzarote and Gran Canaria - both have a similar North/South Divide and the mountain climates tend to be similar with touristy bits in the South of these islands and less explored areas in the N/NW. And there is that temperature gradient which you've noticed on a couple of trips e.g. ascent of Teide. From what I remember of Gran C. the mountains were wet and colder, but compared to out native climate here in Scotland positively warm. It's what I like about your vlogs - not just handlebars and tarmac, but also the hstory and geography of the place and (monika's influence?) the cafe culture, pets (cats, dogs), and a bit of people watching or in the case of NW Tenerife, the absence of people (possibly siesta time?). PS. The Opel Ascona is what we knew as a Vauxhall Cavalier. I had the 2.0i version which was mostly ok apart from a misfire which was sorted and other than that a nice car.
We’re really hoping to get over to GC, Lanzarote and Fuertaventura in Feb (La Gomera next😀). I remember the Cavaliers quite well (very comfy!), but the Coupe body completely threw me😳
@18:27 when you say where is everybody, I'm reminded of The secret life of Walter Middy when everyone has abandoned the town for the Volcanic eruption 😆
great video that Opel Ascona GT cope is way rarer and cooler than the vauxhall cavalier ... well don't really see em any more as rusted away or scraped in uk ... the old Tenerife adventure and history are great Freddie & not only do they abandon classic cars now also houses .. real shame as u & monika could do it up and have a free holiday home . .. maybe wild cat was living in it & Monika missed filming one .. keep up the fab content & be sad when you finally leave ? guess you adventures will start & onwards and up for you both/great to see the subscribe numbers are on the move up
I need to check on the Coupe numbers remaining in the UK (if any!😳). We were wondering if it’d be a good, or dreadful investment to buy one of those old properties… We’ll be very sad when we leave- we’re still not sure where we’re going after this, but we have a shortlist🙂
Hello you 2, I think it is time you bought Monika a sissy bar seat so she doesn’t fall off the back. That’s one thing I have noticed when you 2 ride around the island how litter free it is why can’t the UK be like that, is it education or just can’t be bothered, we still have a lot to learn. Would it be possible to put details of the sound tracks you use as one today reminded me of early Santana? This video is the best one so far as it showed us just how relaxing the island is and definitely the best road so far all the U bends and hills awesome, keep them coming makes a cold windy Sunday morning bearable. Take care.
Really appreciated, thanks Richard🙂 If you click on the written description of each video I include the full song list and also usually the gear for the day. I wonder exactly this- when Monika’s mum first visited the UK, she was amazed at how much litter there was everywhere😳
Freddie does the Triumph not have a basic tool kit with it then ! such a chilled vibe there luv it and such a shame these houses are just left to decay but yes access looks a bit of an issue , but one hell of a view though . when you think about a fly regurgitating or vometing before it eats maybe don't let them sit on yer cake : D cheers both another great one I am still sooo jealous : ) cheers
Good question re the tool kit- it may well have been lost before I bought the bike. I’m sure those houses could be bought for very small amounts (there were a number of plots for sale). Ahhhh I know- I tried to block it out😆🪰 Glad you enjoyed the video🙂
Hi Freddie and Monica... I assume you left Monica's mum behind in the sunshine? I have a little tip for you when riding and its gone cold. Stick a news paper down your jacket and lay it across your chest... Keeps the wind out a treat and they are easy to find when you need one. The car was a Vauxhall Cavalier MK2 I think... Thanks guys for the vlog again... If you want cold then the UK is place... its freezing and the bike an't coming out!!!
We love Tenerife, we love bikes, we love old cars and we love watching you, and the music you pick is perfect! Always top quality blogs x
Thanks so much Jo!🙌🏻
I could not have said it better Jo .
Tenerife outstandingly picturesque island very underrated by tourist media , thanks for the vlog.

Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks Phil!
Watching your videos every sunday morning from the cold Netherlands with a cup of coffee. Takes me away for 20 minutes, great content!
Thank so much and hi over in the Netherlands!🙂
Me encantan vuestros vídeos. Y la música que acompaña no puede ser más bonita. Gracias, thanks.
Watching you while watching 5 inches of snow slowly melt on my back garden! Cold is relative!
Great video Monkia and Freddie. It's 30 years since I was in Tenerife brings back alot of memories thanks.
Great videos , keep them coming Freddie.
Great fun guys. “Oh my God, this is a Coupe” had me chuckling. Well done.
Haven't missed a vid yet Freddie, great idea to relocate to Tenerife, getting more jealous every video as it gets colder here in Ireland, cherish every moment you and Monika spend there great to be young👍🏻👍🏻

And some water 🥵
...and some base layers! Nice little trip there with beautiful scenery and buildings. Thanks.
Hi Freddie, I really enjoy your video's because they are not just motorcycle video's but also give such a nice view on Tenerife. Thanks
Delighted you enjoy them, thanks Jan!
Go again to Icod de los Vinos on 30th November afternoon. Something interesting will be going on. (San Andrés)
Cracking old road & views, good to get off the touristy routes, had the same issue with my mirror once, always carry a spanner since, happy riding Freddie & Monika👍
Thanks Adrian- I’ll be taking a spanner with me from now on!🙂
Love these videos Freddie, keep up the good work!
My Dad had a Vauxhall Cavalier company car like that, (4 door, not coupe) in that colour, but his had an eye-burn orange interior! 80’s chic! Great vid as always!
That sounds like quite a sight- I would genuinely LOVE to see that interior!🤩👌🏻
Dobby gets so excited with all his cars :) Lovely to see. Keep the content coming. Love it. Thanks guys.
Opel Ascona coupe. That’s a rare beast nowadays. The four door version was pretty common in the 80s in Austria. They are an extremely rare sight now over here.
Awesome video and awesome content can’t wait for the next video Thanks Freddie and Monika
Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks Jason!

Great Video as always guys!!
As the other comments it is known as a Vauxhall Cavalier in the UK, but I have never seen a 3 door version!!

And on the clothing front too- Monika always perfectly organised and me not so much😆
Great vlog again, Freddie and Monika. Buena Vista Del Norte looks beautiful. No flies here in a freezing cold Norwich. Garachico has one of those lovely town squares, too. That’s great to know because we’ll visit Garachico soon! I don’t know how some vehicles do it- buses drive up the Masca route somehow!😳
Basically a Vauxhall Cavalier coupe Freddie. Didn't get them in UK! Mid to late 80's and so, so sweet!
Hi Freddie back in the day every Vauxhall car had it's Opel (German) equivalent..... they were classic 1980s cars and the models (in ascending order of size) were as follows...
Vauxhall Nova/Opel Corsa
Vauxhall Astra/Opel Kadett
Vauxhall Cavalier/Opel Ascona
Vauxhall Carlton/Opel Rekord
Vauxhall Viceroy/Opel Commodore
Vauxhall Royale/Opel Senator
So your Opel Ascona was a rare coupe version of the Vauxhall Cavalier in the UK 🙂👍

Thanks for sharing this! What a great sight that’d have been to see them rallying around Finland!😀
Nice work Freddie and Monika that was a Cavalier over here in the UK although the coupe is very rare! I was out on the America last week the temperature was 3 degrees so bike now wrapped up till the spring so keep your rides coming fella
Ahhhhh it was the coupe body that threw me completely!😳
Don’t blame you at all- properly unpleasant biking weather now!😆
Nice video. Buenavista and Los Silos bring back many memories of my childhood. The Opel Ascona is from '86, it is very well preserved. Greetings
That eerie quietness and lack of people in some small villages and towns at certain times of the day is something I also noticed on my tours of mainland Spain, Italy and Cyprus. Loving your videos of the canaries
Love the places wich are a “secret” and not over crowded
Thanks Freddie, Buena Vista del Norte is one town I missed, next time...
Really enjoyed the video again! Keep it up!

I wondered that- and when the motorway connects this part of the island, may it become an ok investment…
Beautiful video pity about the the abondon house s they be still my worth a few Bob I am amazed at the amount of old cars there well done
Monika / Freddie keep up the great blogs!

looks vauxhall cavalier like, love the cars.
That sounds really incredible-
I’ll try and ride over there🙂. Thanks so much for the tip!🙌🏻
Great channel and stylish content Freddie and Monika 👌
BUT… I will get there with her so she appears more🙂
Another great video Freddie, can you please give the Triumph a good and well deserved clean and polish..thanks.
I love to see a dirty bike, it means its getting used. Like to clean also but hate it when see immaculate underused machines
You are right Mick!🙂🏍🧽
@@FreddieDobbs its saving the planet too………a good excuse and no metal destroying salt is there where you are😂
@@volt8684 so true!😆
Opel Askona my dad bought it new in Italy back in 1985 ..UK version would be vauxhall Askona. Brilliant generally 4 door front wheel drive
Bloody cold 🥶 in good o 🇬🇧
I went out yesterday for a cheeky lunch time pint and I nearly turned around and went home, especially when the wind started blowing!
Feel ya it's -21c and the sun sets around 2pm here in Finland now; About to freakin walk to Tenerife I swear lol.
It really is biking heaven! The best value rental on the island that I’ve found so far are from Ink and Ride (€60 a day), but I’ll find Henry Cole’s video and watch tgat🙂
Oh wow- what an incredible car (and investment) to own a 1.9 GTI!👌🏻👌🏻
@@FreddieDobbs I think it was series 9 before lockdown
I did a similar mistake once in the south of italy. It was sunny and warm on the beachside, but freezing cold up on the etna volcano. Stupid me drove up there on a scooter and a t-shirt, haha. Lucky me the volcano had some pretty warm areas so I could defreeze my fingers ;)
This type of Opel Azcona was quite popular in the 80's the date of first registration of this one it's 1986
Thanks so much Bill!🙂
Opel ascona gt was a vauxhall cavalier Sr in the uk. But we never had a 3 door only 5 door.
Ahhhhhh that explains it! Thank you🙂🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
What a beautiful place and certainly some of the best roads you've taken us down to date.
As for wrong clothing I was once ridiculed for taking an Aaron jumper to a Greek island but was left having the last laugh when we decided to return home using public transport as the ferries travelling across the Aegean sea at night are freezing :)
이 형 목소리 너무 멋있네 크
I loved that. I’d love to be there. Thank you for showing me places which don’t have €1euro pints and fish and chips🙄😍. I really appreciate it.❤️
Hello thx! Love Your videos : )
Great video guys. And it Looks like a vauxhall cavalier
Thanks Malcolm- I think it’s the two door layout that threw me (I don’t know if this era was sold in the UK as a Coupe-?)
Freddie to solve your kit dilemma’s try out a EDZ wind proof shirt. Being very thin, They pack away really small but are very effective. Throughly recommended.
Just googled it- looks great! Thanks David, I’ll get one when back in the UK🙂
next time try to reach the real corner of the island, the road from buenavista to Teno bajo is open (i think from 10:00 to 19:00) very long tunnel, one of the roads where fast and furious was filmed and the sight when you arrive sure you will like
Muchos gracias Guillermo- I’ve saved this!🙂
Hi , nice roads , I think the first donkey and it,s owner , had drunk a little to much Vino , when they set off for the coast .
I love the Mantas- a really valuable (and incredibly rare as you mentioned) classic🙂👌🏻🚗
I’ll use Monika’s mum as my excuse for not properly looking after the bike😆
The abandoned dwellings on the mountainside were interesting. Is there an investment opportunity there? if there is power and water a local builder could renovate and use for eccentic visitors as holiday lets??
Opel Ascona was a Vauxhall Cavalier here in UK Freddie
Thanks Martin🙌🏻🙌🏻
Good morn sir fred and monica camra woman par excellence and cat fancier love this vid you both nailed it take extra layers next time that town looked lovely it was white over here last night in Lincolnshire ! not atall jealous you lucky peeps 🐈
Thanks Leslie! 10 years of biking and I still haven’t learnt to pack extra layers! I’ve heard the snow’s arrived in the UK ALREADY😳🥶
Nice video Freddie! On Buenavista there is a big restaurant down on the coast right next to the sea, delicious food but mostly fish related.
But behind the restaurant there is a golf field also right next to the ocean with a path to walk,
with the green golf field on your right and the see on your left.
And i always thought that it look a lot like a traditional english countryside walk next to the ocean, i dont know, maybe its just me haha but it gives me british vibes, if you ever go back to Buenavista check it out.
Thanks adrian, I’m saving this!🙂
Was the Opel Ascona 2.0 GT the basis for the MKI or MKII Cavalier in the UK? I was tempted to suggest that the car you have seen was sold as a Cavalier SportsHatch, but my recollection for that was that it had a more sloping rear boot and more updated aerodynamics than the one in your vlog. Not sure that this helps, but I suspect that it is a Cavalier of some flavour?
I was thinking exactly this. If this coupe model was sold in the UK, it was ridiculously rare!😳
Hi Freddie. Enjoying your videos :)
really jealous sitting here in Coventry, zero degrees ***
I had a car like that in green with a sloped back. Mines was a Vauxhall Cavalier GLX. Keep up the good work. Love your bike and the freedom it gives you both round the island. Nice to see you go round Fuerta. My fav :)
Thanks Steven!🙂
I’ve heard the weather’s really dropped off back in the UK!😳🥶
I love those old sloped back ones- they’ve aged really well👌🏻
Great shout- Fuerta will be done soon!
@@abeltriumph5057 All saved to my list- thank you Steven!:)
Ha, I had a 205 when I came back from the States, has a turning circle of a lincoln and the windshield constantly fogged up...not a favourite, those roads man, more falling than riding down those windy tracks, well done, hope the mirror got sorted!!!!
I LOVE the 205s- the GTI was a dream car of mine👌🏻. You’re right- rolling rather than riding down😆
Thats an Opel Ascona (C) GT/Sport from 1987/88. Indeed a rare sight in continental Europe these days...
Has anyone ever owned one of this model Opel Ascona Coupe / Vauxhall Cavalier Coupe??
I want to fond out how rare this coupe version is…
Let me know!🙂
The only Mk2 cavalier offered in 2 door was the 1.8 convertible in the UK, we never got the coupe. I've never seen one either 😳
I had the MK1 Vauxhall Cavalier coupe, loved it, the Opel Ascona in your Vid is the MK2
Only ever remember seeing a few of the 2 doors, most where 4 door or 5 door hatch backs in the 1980’s company car boom. I had a 5 door SRi 1800 white with the black strip on bottom of the door also recaro seats 😀😀😀
We had a XX4/90….. don’t know if that’s remotely useful. It was a lovely car, around 1976.
Hi buddy
What panniers are you using on the Bonne? I’m on the market for some for my Akita and like the look of yours.
Was it siesta time? Maybe that was why it was so quiet?
I think it was 4pm (ish), so possibly… but we’ve visited twice now and both times completely dead
great video that Opel Ascona GT cope is way rarer and cooler than the vauxhall cavalier ... well don't really see em any more as rusted away or scraped in uk ... the old Tenerife adventure and history are great Freddie & not only do they abandon classic cars now also houses .. real shame as u & monika could do it up and have a free holiday home . .. maybe wild cat was living in it & Monika missed filming one .. keep up the fab content & be sad when you finally leave ? guess you adventures will start & onwards and up for you both/great to see the subscribe numbers are on the move up
I need to check on the Coupe numbers remaining in the UK (if any!😳).
We were wondering if it’d be a good, or dreadful investment to buy one of those old properties…
We’ll be very sad when we leave- we’re still not sure where we’re going after this, but we have a shortlist🙂
Maybe a typo in the title Freddie, Buenavista is North West Tenerife and not North East. Great vlog again
Thanks- I’ll edit this mow (just a typo!)😆
Hello you 2,
I think it is time you bought Monika a sissy bar seat so she doesn’t fall off the back. Take care.
Really appreciated, thanks Richard🙂
If you click on the written description of each video I include the full song list and also usually the gear for the day.
Ahhhh I know- I tried to block it out😆🪰
Glad you enjoyed the video🙂
Some of the sub-titles that appear (not just on your videos) are hilarious!! 😂🇬🇧🏍
Ahhhhhh I bet!! Someone once asked me why I was talking about “a woman’s panties”?!?🤣🤣🤣
This is a brilliantly simple trick- I will remember this!🙂📰
Ahhhh I’ve gone soft after two months in Tenerife!😆🥶
Where did you have the Nice breakfirst?
Did you go to the lighthouse?
