India has such naturally beautiful actresses yet so many Bollywood actresses died so young. Shridevi died in her 50s but that's still young in my opinion.

A very famous tidbit about her which my grandfather used to tell us about is that she was so famous that a guard at a theatre saw her feet and recognised her. She had covered herself with a black veil to avoid being recognised. That was the amount of craze people had for her. Just thought this would be interesting..

Karine always picks the all-time Indian legends. Madhubala was so beautiful and very talented. She held her own in drama but I like her in comedy with the expressions and comic timing. Also, what a beautiful laugh.
I find the older legends had this charm about them. Even if you don’t understand the language to well, the talent and excitement radiates through the screen. She was one of my favorites 😍

Madhubala has been immortalised on screen in ‘Mughal-e-Azam’. I loved her in ‘Mohe Panghat Pe’. I just wish she had a longer life and could enjoy her success.

Idk why this was particularly sad to me because Karine has talked about people with some really depressing stories but this one was so so sad to me. That she died so young and people wanted her dead for just being herself. Life can be so unfair people who don't bother nobody or just try to make the world a better place just because seem to always get so much hate/ be misunderstood.
What a man cant have, he will hate and will try to destroy. She was a decent woman and in this time these guys were grabbing you at such partys and interviews and a actress was under pressure to sleep with the movie director and the producer, etc. She didnt wanted to deal with dirty guys and thats why they hated her.

How brave of the Indian men to expand the industry from theatre to film. To showcase and hire the women from their own group wasn't that hard. Many doting father's wanted their daughters to know the value of money To have interesting conversation to find parity with your husband not just talking about house and babies . However in that domain many powerful men would pursue you and she'd have to adhere to their strict guidelines on how to conduct herself. Even with their own religions and expelling the colonialist it seems some behaviour crossed the codes of honour
