An app that limits screen time by making your phone slightly more annoying to use

  • Phone overuse is common in todays society, and current interventions are not effective at helping users decrease screen time. Michigan Engineering researchers are developing an app called 'InteractOut' which works by slightly modifying common phone interactions, like tap and swipe, to gradually ease a user off their phone. It's different than current methods, which either lock users out of an application after a set amount of time or allow them to continue scrolling once the timer runs out.
