David you did a great job with this build. The lack of detail can make it disappointing to some modeler’s. Thanks for sharing this build with our community. Have a blessed day my friend! 😀👍🏻
For an older build it looks very well. A great Impala. Today you have more options for more detailing, but even an older kit has its own charm. Best wishes, Joachim
A nice addition to show off your developing skills. Disappointments happen in models, remember you are striving to create an illusion of reality. Don't let others failures affect you, your skills more than make up for the lack of detail.
I just got this today.. it had terrible mold lines…. I have seen several examples of this model kit… and you with the side trim and molding did a very good job..
That sure is a good looking build David! It is disappointing with the lack of detail, I had to open up my kit I haven't built yet to make sure. Luckily, mine does have it. Thanks 😎👍
hi David...i can't believe they gave you all the detail parts but not the most important...other than that the model looks great.. i'll be building a '61 impala SS that i drove back in the day... thx 4 sharing.. vinny
ATM with the Dodge RT that came out the new bronco that came out. They have so much potential and yet the finished product just never reaches the goal. Have you ever built the 1960 Apache kit from ATM with the go kart that is an excellent kit..one of the best kits..
Morning my brother, guess who????? Despite the lack of under hood components, it sure does look beautiful David!!!!! This is a perfect example of why so many people dislike AMT kits……. To leave out important parts but to substitute with tools make no sense to me….😔😔😔😔
You did an awesome job with what tgey gave you, David, it looks great! Plus, it's an interesting bit of modeling history and conversation piece (makes me wanna find one, lol), I really like it, brother ✌️😁
Beautiful model.👍👍 I have one from 58, 62 and 67 in my stock to build. Impalas from all eras are great. Strangely, the translation does not work on this video.
Thanks Pierre, I love the full size Chevrolets: Bel Air, Biscayne, Del Ray, Impala and Caprice. Sometimes TH-cam is not consistent with audio translation for all videos.🤔
Me and a buddy of mine, built the Presitge versions of this kit. We both painted them a lighter green metallic, with matching interiors. We of course, used Cragers on them. They looked ok. We were disappointed in molded in lights. Luckily he had a major parts stash, so we had firewalls that were close enough. That came ouy pretty cool. You manged to polish a turd as they say. I havr a 63 here, an a extra set of 64 taillights. So, I think Ill drill out those molded in lights.
@@davidchin350 Yep, just a re boxed Prestige kit. Minus the display and penholder base. Those prestige kits came with cheap bare metal,..and those "tools"
You did a great job David with what you had to work with, I find ertle models to be lacking in quality and detail some times, thanks for sharing your build!
hello David... im so sorry for the late response... i'm in catch up mode... thar pretty messed up not including all the needed parts to complete the engine .... you had mentioned in one of your comments on one of my vid about the '61 impala. driveshaft...i didn't understand what you meant... i like the color on this model.... thx for sharing...vinny
Excellent replication of a ‘63 Impala David! That is a bummer that it’s missing the engine bay components. Was your kit in particular missing those parts or was that just how this particular kit was made?
Nice build of an older AMT kit David. Yeah the AMT '63 Impala has a bit to be desired. Try to find yourself the Revell '63 Impala, it's a much, much nicer kit.
Thanks Skip, I actually do have a Revell 63 & 64 with opening trunks to build. I think later AMT 63 had the additional parts. I believe this was a "Prestige" series kit.
David Chin SMP/AMT Made 2 Versions of 63 Impala SS This Version is 1965 to Present it's Poorer Version of the 2 The Original Was SMP 1963 issue The 409 Motor Was Far Better With Stock & Drag options Hilnorn Intake & 8 injector Stacks. The Body Had 6 Ted Taillight Lenses to Cover Hole opening in The Body & A Aftermarket lighting kit Could Be Added to Have Working Lights. In 64 Exact Same Kit Was Reissued Dane Box Art Except It Had the AMT Logo in place of SMP. In 2019 I bought the Reissue And Was Disappointed to See the Changes Which Had Been Done to the Kit After 64
@@davidchin350 There's A TH-cam Video Showing the Advanced Custom Box Art Original Version & Side By Side of the Later Version. Nice looking build despite the missing parts.
Thanks👍
Chris cool older build brother and I love a cool impala ❤😊
Thanks Shawn, I just wish it included the basic engine compartment parts.
David you did a great job with this build. The lack of detail can make it disappointing to some modeler’s. Thanks for sharing this build with our community. Have a blessed day my friend! 😀👍🏻
Thanks Steven, yes it's between a curbside and a basic detailed kit. 😟
Great looking 63 David
Thanks Jeff, an older build of mine.😊

Thanks Ed, expected a little more from a 1997 kit.😟
Nice and clean , David.👍
Thanks Charlie, an older build of mine.🙂
Really nice Impala David
Thanks Tom, this kit left me wanting a bit more detail.😮
Very nice
Thanks buddy for checking it out.😊

Thanks man, 🙂
That sure is a good looking build David! It is disappointing with the lack of detail, I had to open up my kit I haven't built yet to make sure. Luckily, mine does have it. Thanks 😎👍
Thanks Mike, was your kit same release and box art? Since my instructions did not illustrate those parts, the kit was not supposed to include them.😣
hi David...i can't believe they gave you all the detail parts but not the most important...other than that the model looks great.. i'll be building a '61 impala SS that i drove back in the day... thx 4 sharing.. vinny
Thanks Vinny, I do like my older builds with what the kit supplied. Will your 61 build have an overstressed driveshaft as well?😮
Still looks great without the pieces it’s missing.
Thanks Johnny, kit left me wanting a bit more.
It looks like amt goofed up! they forgot to add the right sprues it looks like a curbside kit, otherwise you did a great job David thumbs up 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thanks, don't think this kit release supposed to have these parts since they were not in the instruction.😖
They did add a part to add to have a curbside kit, which is ridiculous to me when you would add the complete engine.

@@jimmyPureYa have not built the Apache but I do like the included go kart. AMT does make some fine models, this 63 was not one of them.☹️
@@jimmyPureYa Agreed Jimmy, sometimes people don't want to build the engine so they use that engine cap on the bottom.
Love looking at older builds. Very Cool David!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mike, fun build. Will have to get another one eventually.

Thanks Chris, the exclusion of basic parts but additional accessories does not make sense.😟
nice clean build. Great re-visit
Thanks Kurt, I love earlier builds.
Your Impala looks pretty sharp, David 👍 Some of these AMT kits seem to be somewhat simplified 🥺
Thanks Greg, simplified to a degree that they omitted the parts😧
@@davidchin350 That really sucks 🤨
Great job David.
Thanks for checking it out.👍
It still looks great, David!
Thanks Eric, will have to buy another 63 kit.

Love the blue!! Very cool build, shame on the lack if detail, esp under the hood. But still has great look to it
Thanks Chris, wished AMT gave me the basic mechanical parts over the extra accessories.😒
@@davidchin350 I think Revell has one of these. I may be wrong but thought I've seen one
@@carouselofcrazychrisb yes Revell made a 63 Impala SS at one time.🙂

Thanks Jay, although same AMT are good kits this one lacked the bare basics.
Nice job polishing a turd. I think it looks great.
Thanks buddy, glad you like it.
I had a firewall my kit..
Thanks for stopping by, you must have the better release. Mine wasn't even in the instruction sheet so it's not a missing parts tree.😣
May not be the best kit, but you made it look great!
Thanks Chris, will have to pick up another 63 kit for another go at it.🙂
