there is no such option as " Text me a code" on my paypal account. I even added my phone number. I had to do it with an authenticator app and its spooky scary. what if I lose my authenticator app data, its game over for me. I really want to enable it through text code instead of some third party authenticator app.

SO true! Paypal is kinda sucks! I have wasted so much time and efforts to try to figure this out! The customer service won't help much as well (no one can be reached)!
