How does Two-Factor Authentication - 2FA work?

We often hear that if a website supports two-factor authentication, it is worth to enable it for our account. That’s what security people use to say. But how does it work? Why does it increase the security of our account so much? Today's episode is all about it.

If you don't have your backup codes, but you have the QR Code you can still recover your account in the 2FA app.

This is the most confusing thing I’ve ever dealt with . How the fuck does it work. It doesn’t make any sence. The code keeps changing every time I open the app.

Let’s say you and I want to share a password but it changes based on date. Let’s say we both agree to start with 10 and add the number date it is currently.
For example day one we’ll both have 11 day two we’ll now have 13 day three we’ll both have 17 as long as we’re both keeping track of the date and not forgetting to do it, we’ll always share the same number. Computers do it but with much more complicated randomness to make it impossible to figure out.
