My dad and I got some 30 35 pound fish.lake was never really calm, but when it was we would jug the sholes. We also did it old school pulling wire 600 plus feet of line out when the big one's hit you no😂😅
I just watched this episode and holy moly guys! The size of those lakers!!! Other than the incredible technology, what were Pete and Angelo using as bait? It looked like some type of weighed tube? What a show.
Another great episode, those lakers are epic! If somebody new to Livescope was looking to outfit their boat, would you say that a gps enabled trolling motor with anchor capability is a hard requirement? I'm not a live sonar user but it seems to me that it is far more useful when the boat is stationary or fishing through the ice. When using the two units are you using the perspective mode for bearing and then the forward mode for depth? Also if someone could only afford one unit would you recommend perspective or forward view?
Mitch is right in that without it, the difficulty just escalated, however it can be done with lots of work from the foot pedal or remote... but you better be good! In this episode's case, we use both modes to specifically target fish. Perspective has a wider range and forward is more focused. Forward mode is the easiest to use and to us, the most accurate way of seeing where you're casting. Hope this helps
Got a question maybe for a podcast. Got a lake that has big lakers like that. Do real well DR bigger spoons. But using FFS and sniping them is not happening. Seeing schools is no problem. 80-110’ fow. Good with the FFS. This lake sees virtually no pressure on lakers. After tones of outings, tubes, hair jigs, jigging spoons, paddle tails, and every bait I can think of and the kitchen sink. All varying retrieves, dropping it past them and burning it, suspend above, play keep away, subtle, Eye level or on bottom. Get the odd fish here and there but it’s rare. Just no commitment at all. Usually get one or two in a spot come up to look at it but nothing. Any ideas or real good tips or tricks to try? I haven’t gone real small, like 2.5-3” on paddletails/soft plastic jerk baits yet. Nor shut down every electronic down. Done it but kept FFS on. Any off the wall stuff to try as well?
@ tried the bigger tubes. But have not tried dragging it like that. I’ll definitely apply the technique to other lures as well and try some cut up Cisco doing the same thing. Appreciate the response! Thank you very much! I am gonna solve this mystery one day..lol.
Sounds like you've pretty much exhausted the entire gamut of Laker tactics! You probably have but if not, have you tried laying a heavy, 4-5" tube on the bottom and essentially dragging it (much like Smallmouth fishing)? For whatever reason, we get some big ones doing that. We feel it's because Lake Trout can be scavengers and will eat dead stuff off of the bottom.
It would be nice to see some ice fishing by you guys instead of summertime fishing 🎣

@@Fishncanada thanks guys!
Hey fellas, another great episode. I've noticed this season you've been fishing out of a new Princecraft. Where did FNC1 go?

Yes spot lock is a must
