As a kid, after school, I went to a friend's house and everyday almost we played the game, slowly and slowy until we finished it. Took a year. Best game I played.
Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back were like first love, feels amazing even after so many years. Unforgettable and top sinister games I have ever played, great sound effects especially footsteps and echoes, masterpiece. If I could I would live in the game right now. Then of course Eye of the beholder series, then Black Crypt and then Crystal Dragon, lately Legend of Grimrock series. Such memories. Wish they make such games more often!
after playing Dungeon Master this was the real Dungeon Master Game. i finished it with only one character. hard and slow but possible. had enough time as a kid :-) one of my favorite RPG of all time.
Dungeon Master was inspired brilliance. Chaos Strikes Back took that formula, amplified it and offered some fiendishly good challenges. Thanks so much for sharing, it's a part of my youth I shall always cherish!
I played Dungeon Master so much, I virtually have the entire map in my head, even years later. But watching this just made my head hurt. All those staircases and pits is just insane. So good to watch it.
I get that too. That only happens when I don't get my flash player updated for the browser; or else that my video card will just conflict on every video to green and stress out vs. the explorer that the flash player is not compatibility with the current web explorer that your using; Don't stay in the green stress too long or your Windows will crash due to a bad video card stress.
I've never seen this opening cutscene before. I had the game on the Atari ST, and I 'guess' it wasn't on that??? Loved this game though. I used to live on Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back. I remember when I was in high school I happened upon Dungeon Master 2 and damn near failed school I played it so much!
Well there's a large longplay player base..Not just one player....And often these games are played over several days...(you know re-recordings etc)...so don't worry ;-)
my favorite game forever ! I strongly suggest to the fan of Chaos Strikes Back to check this game to be released on pc, ios, android, mac, linux: Dungeon Kingdom gameplay tests ! You can support their game on indiegogo: www.indiegogo.com/projects/dungeon-kingdom-sign-of-the-moon/x/8516640 Their main source of inspiration being Chaos Strike Back,Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder serie.
I tried to collect ALL objects I found and exhibiting them in the starting room : food, weapons, armors, magical items... I made a real market. It's nearly hurting me when I see you dropping items.
I have been well in love with these dungeon crawlers, so I'm on quest to find & play them. That's why I'm asking this: Does anybody know any dungeon crawler games on old school consoles like Megadrive, Nes & Snes, Gameboy ect? I would appreasite for every hints & tips. Also thank you for making this video. I really liked it.
What a weak ending for such a long and insidious game. On another note, did you know that you can actually get into that door that says, "Death Row"? I forget exactly how, but you drop down from a pit above it. I believe you have to kill a rock golem without any gear, but he drops something special when he dies. Check it out online if you're interested.
Galimah. What the Fuck are you talking about???? Please explain to us how Chaos Strikes back is a Rip off of what I can only find a Dungeons and Dragons reference, aka your Grimlock??? I see nothing that implys a "Ripoff". Dungeon Master was ABSOLUTELY the first game to establish numerous standards in Computer Games. It Was the Gold Standard.. Are you really that stupid??/????? Please explain how FTL ripped off other computer games!! Come On .. .Tell us all about it!!!! Asshole!!!!
My brain to this day still isn't able to handle the fact that a game from the 1980s ripped off a game from the 2010s. Quite sure looper did a video on this.

I too love d master but not CSB, too much for my poor old brain.
Dungeonmaster und Chaos Stike back waren meine Favoriten. Ich hab sie Jahrelang gespielt. Schade das es Heute keine würdigen Nachfolger gibt.
Dedication to you cubex55 for the upload.
I played the original game from beginning to end. The game has tricks.
Man, that dragon at the beginning was so stressful to watch.... later. "Dragon's Den" oh, ssshh....
I played this a lot back then that I still remembered the magic torch spell
MON FUL IR was my best friend
ah.. the time when the reward for finishing a game was few seconds of animation..
What a game this was! Scared the crap out of me as a kid
The Dragon Den was a thing of horrors! lmao
Me too!
Ten years old and you couldn't have paid me to sit in a dark room and play it!
I remember the stubborn death knights .
Good memory of my elementary school days.

Very good game. The game of my young days...

The cutscene was on the ST version, it was on the utility disk.

Very good job!
Megadrive closest to DM: is "sword of vermilion", "shinning in the darkness"
On snes hmm, arcana, ofcourse EOTB series.,

Original "Dungeon Master" was on SNES. And "Eye of the Beholder" also

This guy has no sense of tactics, no idea how to organize his gear, and no idea how to advance his characters. It is amazing he survives at all.
can't understand a shit sometimes
look like this game ripped of legend of grimlock, and it aint as pretty either... turd
i agree, but the coolest part is how they used a time machine, and fit their whole grimlock ripoff on a 720k floppy disk in 1989
spatulasnout
lol nice one
XD
