Agree, it was a great play by the defender. I think the bigger concern is that UCF decided to be aggressive with that play call, but it other aspects they play very conservative.
Yep, it was a great play by the defender. I think the bigger question is why UCF decided to get more aggressive with the play call in that spot as opposed to running out the clock. If it worked, we would have looked like geniuses, but when it doesn't, this is the result
Ok.....I don't think Nick heard the question right. You asked him about the ball at the 1 and the pick six, but he's talking about the wildcat and stuff. I definitely would not run the wildcat from shotgun at the 1. We've seen times when we run the wildcat and lose a yard or two, so that would mean a safety. Maybe he's talking about kicking the fg or the last drive where we went for it on 4th and 2.
I think he was more giving examples of different things that UCF could have done in that spot as opposed to throwing it. Later on we talked about just letting Dylan sneak forward for a yard and go to halftime. It is also why I asked him about QBs not taking snaps under center, which I think would have made a run easier in that spot given the spot of the ball
Movies that make me cry...dog movies like A Dog's Purpose.
I saw the play again from the pick six. If that defender wasn't there, the ball goes straight into the receiver's hands.

Pace?
The defender said in an interview he was following the motion man and looked up and the ball was there. It was pure luck per his own words.
