I like that, apart from the video quality, you couldn't say this was 40 years ago.
Yes you can, neither of the 2 pipe bands are around. They got amalgamated into the Highlanders and Royal Scots boarders
SCOTLAND FOREVER 🏴🏴🏴🏴
Up Scotland and its people. 💪🏻 🏴
I wish this was on the REMT program these days instead of a lot of different “stuff”😎
@jacobsgranddaughter
You got that right.
(I'm an American and I completely
concur with your comment).
@@guilty_mulburry5903 I thought it was the acronym for ROYAL EDINBURGH MILITARY TATTOO
Do you have the rest of this tattoo? Could you post it?
Been there one year before 😍
Awesome

When men did it better.
Can anyone tell me who are or what is the Cavern Navaerracht? Not even sure if I even spelt that correctly but I also heard the commentator refer to it in a subsequent Edinburgh military tattoo. An explanation or definition would be welcome, thank you.
It's not "Cavern Navaerracht", its "Cameron of Erracht", the name of a minor noble family of scotland. Their tartan is used by the military, because a member of their family raised the regiment known as the "Cameron Highlanders", which existed all the way to 1961, where they where merged into the "The Queen's Own Highlanders", due to the government deciding to reduce the size of the army.
Hope i could help you :-)
@@konstantinschmitz3209 Clan Cameron is not a minor family. They were the biggest supporters of the Jacobites and had almost 1,000 clansmen when they fought for prince Charles.
@@bronsonleach3573 Yes, Clan Cameron is most certainly not a "minor" family. However, i was, like the announcer in the video, specifically referring to the Camerons of Erracht, a smaller branch family of this larger clan.
@MrIrishcouse
Yeah... leave to that heavy English(??) accent
(or over-pronunciation) to make it hard to understand. lol.

I prefer the laddies than the lassies dancing just my opinion only.
do you know if those guys go naked under those kilts? or do they put on undies to dance? 😂
@@lydiadoyle5219
A few things on this:
There is an old saying for the "tradition"
of soldiers not wearing undies when they
are out conducting field exercises...
which US troops call "going commando"
and UK troops call "going regimental".
As it applies to kilts...
the actual attitude and formal tradition has been to
not wear anything underneath when wearing it,
but I do think that has changed in more recent times
(or at least is more optional) for obvious hygiene reasons
and especially at more formal gatherings like weddings, ect.
as well as at public sporting events where the athletes
or competitors do wear undies for the sake of propriety
and when good manners are otherwise expected.
As a humorous side note....
whenever someone (but especially a woman)
asks what is worn under the kilt, a very common answer
(but particularly by a Scotsman) will be something like:
"Nothing is worn, Ma'am. Everything is in fine working order".
Of course... my personal answer
(especially if it's a guy being a smart-ass or jerk)
would be: "Your mother's lipstick". lol
@@lydiadoyle5219 If they are in the British Army, they have to go Commando!
Traditionaly it is a mens dance but the sport was taken over buy women.
The highlanders are so good at fighting that they can dance in the middle of a battle!
Yep, dance all over their enemies.
