  • Finally had a chance to chase Gold again after 2 weekends of just fishing. Decided to check out Tuena Creek after the 2010 floods ripped through the area. This video shows where and how to look for gold and also shows gold panning technique.

    Love your videos, I've watched a lot of them, but why did you sell your Whites TDI

      Thanks for watching Peter. We still have the TDI and will never sell it. We mostly use it for relic hunting these days as Liz got a very good deal on the SDC.

    I'm glad you got a little colour at Tuena....did you dig the high level washes for the coarser gold ...??? or did you dig the creek for the flood gold...??? sure to catch up with you there as we head up that way quite often...good luck and cheers ..Wal.

    Glad to see you have a great attitude. Suggest you go to your local library and research gold deposits in your area. Head for the nearest with a gold pan and dig on the bedrock bars which cross the stream. Don't dig on big gravel beds, your first and best gold will be sitting on top of the bedrock....Sorry for the late reply. Just found out how to reply properly to comments. Best of luck and keep the dream alive.

    a lot of what i have watched has helped me when i have been out
    and the zig zag paten on the (build a high banker that works) vid
    the bread crate works a treat.

    @topster57....Sorry to disappoint you...but we don't let much get back into the river for the fossickers behind us. Years ago, we use to double pan to see how much flour gold we miss but found that, virtually zero goes over the pan using this technique and using the garrett super sluice pan.

    Thanks for watching Robert, we only do it for recreation, but you could do quite well if you took it up full time. The only down factor is that "Luck" plays a big role in what you find...all the best, Wal.

    Do you need a NSW gold mine license to dig gold?

    • @WalnLiz
      @WalnLiz  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tez88....No Tez....but you need permission to be on private property from the farmers If you are prospecting on their land. You also can’t prospect in National Parks.

      Thanks for watching Fred. We spend a lot of time watching Bering Sea Gold over here in Australia and find the prospecting for gold in that region very fascinating. All the very best of luck when you're in Nome this summer. Cheers, Wal

    You need to have Wal get you a small generator and shop vac. In that heat, moving as much dirt as possible with minimal effort seems logical. I feel you would have a higher recovery rate. 🤔

    We're in a lucky country, where it's very difficult and against the law to carry weapons. We've been doing this all our life in the remotest parts of our country and have never encountered any form of unfriendly behavior. In fact most people you meet are chasing the same gemstones as we do and more often than not become long term friends.
