I personally have a theory that Cater is supposed to represent a bunch of different characters because of his cloning ability. The list I've been able to come up with so far is: the king of hearts (going along with the ex-dorm leader theory), Lumiere (bc of the groovy art of his dorm uniform card), and Cinderella as the video discussed are the theories popular within the fandom. My own personal theories include the caterpillar from AiW (bc it has Cater in it), Tom Sawyer (from tricking Ace and Deuce into painting the roses like the fence painting), probably not Mufasa but maybe like the green bug in the canyon in the Lion King or something similar (bc he got trampled by the stampede), and finally Princess Anna (because of his hair color and he talks to the paintings around NRC). I totally didn't write this whole long comment. Nope, that was someone else.
huh i was expecting Trey, ace and Deuce to be included with Cater but sebek really caught me off guard i never expected him to be connected to the Crocodile, but I am more curious in jack the most since Leona is twisted from Scar and Ruggie is twisted from Shenzi (of the three hyenas) some speculate that jack is the big bad wolf but with a white-furred spin or some other wolf villain

Don't know if it's official but Jack's wiki page says that he is based on White Fang and his name is the same as the author of the book (that later received a movie adaptation from Disney). I guess it makes sense since he often mentions how he is not used to the hot weather of Savanaclaw because his homeland is cold most of the year. On top of that, him coming from a different story might also explain the different mindset he has compared to the other members of the same dorm.
@@princessmacarons9347 I know it's not Lion King, but there's a theory floating around that Jack is actually based on the wolves that attack Belle when she flees the castle in Beauty and the Beast since apparently a lot of the first years seemed to be based on something that 'attacked' the hero/heroine of the story: Ace and Deuce being card soldiers that came after Alice, Epel being the poison apple in Snow White, and Sebek being considered to be part of Maleficent's magic as he's supposedly Twisted from her lightning... I think it's a pretty solid theory since we already saw Vargas, who we know is Twisted from Gaston, and it helps Jack fit into animated Disney movies that everyone else seems to be Twisted from.
I thought Sebek was an og character, like Jack. Also, if you'd read the Twisted Tales Disney series, the Sleeping Beauty book has Maleficient adopt Aurora after her parents ruin their country. As for Lilia, I've always heard people say Diablo the raven, but to be honest, I'm not 100% how I feel about that assumption. Silver’s motif with the swords and sleeping beauty allusions has been confusing me for a while. Although recently I swore I saw some new merch icon? art image that depicted his symbol alternatively as a spool of thread instead That might surprisingly fit better if it’s a new thing, if he’s the spindle’s thread it would fit both his sleepiness and ties to sleeping beauty without being fully based on her
The spool could also be a general Disomnia thing since spools are heavily associated with the dorm. But also if his symbol DOES change post-chapter 7 like. Big oof for that company that dropped the merch
Did anyone notice that Silver hasn’t meet or interact with Yuu and Grim yet. In the end of chapter 6, when meeting Mickey again, he mentioned he saw someone with Silver hair and unusual eyes. It seems that Yuu and Silver are both connected to Mickey and have the ability to enter the dreamworld , it would be interesting if Silver got a chance meet Mickey, I think in chapter 7, Yuu would be the one to be put in a sleeping curse trappings their mind in the dream world, Silver would have to team up with Mickey to save Yuu from the sleeping curse
I thought that Sebek was a twisted nudge to the 'tooth fairy'. With his dad being a human dentist and his mom's 'bite force' thing? Also what are you're thoughts on Lilia being a possible twisted from the monster from Fantasia's 'Night on Bald Mountain'? He's bat based, and is referenced to be SCARY powerful by his house!
What I find interesting about Silver further more was the fact that he is the one who is hinted to have stepped in Ramshackle dorm while Yuu and the others are in the Underworld. It's not just the fact that Silver went to Ramshackle, but also because while Mickey can't see anything else other than Yuu, even as Yuu called for Grimm and that Grimm couldn't see anything in the mirror, surprisingly, Micky saw a figure with silver hair, which could hint Silver being there. Meanwhile, in the current Halloween event in EN server, Silver states that he was the only one who heard Lillia scream and calling for help. Silver also described that some loud noises were heard but when asking Sebek, he stated that he didn't hear anything
I thought Jack was based on the monkey guy (forgot his name) because they have like, the exact same hair. They’re also both seen as calm or protective. I think there’s some other Disney character that they got the wolf from, or they just thought “monkey” wouldn’t fit their edgy lil anime bois
With Jack, I've seen it theorized him being twisted either from White Fang or the wolves from Beauty and the Beast. While I do believe there's some weight to both (the author of White Fang is even named Jack) I think people really get stuck on the whole wolf aspect and wind up ignoring what we know about Jack. And taking a look at what we do know, I believe he's meant to be twisted from Prince Adam/Beast. His signature spell is transformation and is even called "Unleash the Beast", and his cacti hobby could be an allusion to Beast's obsession over the rose. Something that gives weight to both this theory and the wolves of BatB theory is Jack's favorite food being pear compote. Compote originating from France, where BatB takes place. Jack was also originally going to be human according to old concept art. It's possible his power to transform into a beast wasn't decided on at that point, but it's pretty interesting. Only thing I can think of that could go against him being twisted from Beast is his void magic being darkness instead of light, though Beast is technically the antagonist at the beginning of the film. There might be more that could work with this theory, but this is what I could think of off the top of head. I don't know if others have theorized this given I've only ever seen the White Fang and the BatB wolves theories, but I think there's a lot of weight to this one. It's also possible Jack's an amalgamation of characters rather than being twisted from a singular character, though it would be odd considering no other character is like this.

While I heard some people speculate that he's twisted from White Fang, I find it extremely unlikely. All of the other characters are based on ANIMATED Disney characters, not live action ones. That seems like an extremely obscure thing to base a character on. The novel takes place in the Yukon in Canada, not in Germany or France, so I don't see the connection there in that sense as well. Plus, if he was twisted from the wolves from Beauty and the Beast, it would give him and Vil an interesting connection, making them like a reverse Beauty and the Beast. (Vil being more of a "beauty" looks wise, but sharing more traits with Adam personality wise and Jack seeming more intimidating, but being loyal and sweet once you get to know him.)
the thing about sebek is that one of maleficent’s goons in the og animated film is actually a crocodile! diasomnia’s guest room plushie you can buy on sam’s shop has one of the guards in them - which mean the design team knew of them. there’s also a bat, or at least a creature similar to a bat, that we can deduce was what lilia was twisted from! it’d make sense since they are maleficent’s guards in the movie; in fact, they’re the ones who are assigned to look for aurora for 16 years, but they keep looking for a baby even as the years go by - which coincides with canon information that lilia is bad at finding things and couldn’t find silver when he got lost and actually only got him after sebek’s parents took him back to the cottage. it’d be safe to assume that malleus’ knights would be twisted from maleficent’s “knights”. if you search “maleficent’s henchmen” you’ll see a screenshot where you can clearly see them!
if we go back to the relationship between sebek’s family line and briar valley’s royalty - it’s said that sebek’s fae grandfather was in the war, so it could be a family tradition for them to serve the draconia’s - which could further tie in to the connection between the crocodile henchman and sebek!
Sivek comes from a merging on the reptile-like goons from Maleficent's army as well the eerie greenish magic of her when alluring Aurora into the spell as an hypnotic-powered Will-O-Wisp.
