They can't stand that she was born to be a star and still shining at 74. Lindsey is a musical genius but I don't consider him a star. He is a powerhouse performer in his own right and Christine was too and excellent songwriters...no doubt. But Stevie was the storyteller and image that made Fleetwood Mac shoot to success. However, you couldn't take any member out and still have that kind of band. It needed all 5 members for the magic. Without Stevie, the band would have probably had a couple of hits in the 70s but would have faded out in the early 80s. They wouldn't have been as successful as they were with Stevie. Their album TIME proved that.
Both excellent groups/artists, and if they're doing their jobs properly that is what music can do for us all. They're just the vessels for the art. In my humble opinion, of course
@98michellesanders I speak "Stevie" too. She makes perfect sense to me as well. I can totally relate when she talks about the tiredness, and just "Fading away" because its all too much. My life is exhausting, i can only imagine what the life of a rock star's is like :) Thank God she is strong enough to continue giving us beautiful music
Stevie looks so wilted behind all that beautiful hair and make up...tired...her true emotions shine through ....tough woman with a tough exterior...rock on ancient queen...much
Boy - judging by this interview, don't you want to throw a pity party for her. She about half her age here and she's already saying she's getting old-people aches and pains...but she goes on. Rock on Stevie!
Truth, but as a 52 year old with lots of aches and pains it made me chuckle. How true it is, and it does suck when it doesn't matter how you feel - you still have to do your job and give yourself entirely to it. Very difficult to do, but we must or we die right in the chair or bed we're in if we don't
She should see this with people that do love her and. ..... this interview is a song to itself, thank you Stephanie Lynn Nicks 💕💕💕 Stevie Nicks I love you my friend and my sister and best friend.... love and blessings to you is my prayer to God... just like holding hands with everyone I have ever known.... becoming whole again....
lets face it...if stevie was high and drug problems...that makes her all the more real and very relatable. for those of us who have not had to face such hardships then they may not relate as well for those of us who have. sorry but its the the truth and the reality
She was dealing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome through the 70s and the 80s on top of all the other stuff...give the woman a break! She's an amazing survivor--how many performers can sell out a stadium at age 68? She IS the Queen of Rock n Roll. Period.
Of course she is stoned out of her mind. She had not gone to rehab at all yet . She often speaks about these times in later interviews . Just because someone is a drug addict does not mean they cannot be beautiful. Blondies Deborah Harry was a heroin addict . She was also a stunner. I'm just so glad Stevie lived to write more songs and go on performing live , sharing her wisdom, talent and incredible beauty .
I have loved Stevie and her music from a young age. I had a crush on Stevie even before I had seen her because of her hauntingly beautiful voice and that song was "Blue Light" from the double album soundtrack of the "Heavy Metal" Animated movie. Then I saw a video of her in concert wearing white lace....I was smitten. I've been a fan ever since but have never seen her live except on video.
I always did feel she was able to affect me in special ways with her songs... I didn't ever expect to hear her say such things.. that she wrote for us, and therefore, also for me. Her power to project is so strong, yet she says she is not pushy. And I think she is right, she is not, but her power to project is so strong, so crystalline. Such magic. I'm in tears because... I don't understand why she must come and go like all the beasts of this earth! WELL, you are a crowning miracle then!!!
I love her spirit. Stevie is being so real here. She cares so much about connecting her soul and talents with others and here she is also learning how to remain true to herself in order to have any sense of balance and sanity. I love her spirit here and willingness to fight for what is important. Thank you Stevie for who you are..You help me tremendously. Still going after it today. May God hold you in the palm of His hand
She fights for what’s important?? When has she ever done ANYTHING for ANYONE? She’s arrogant, overpaid and self-centered. There’s sooooo many better people for you to worship. And idolize.
Stevie Rocks~ I wish I appreciated my era (80's kid) more... she is one of a kind like no other, ever. I love the young Stevie, so beautiful and deep as an ocean. I so should have rocked her look when I was teen if I knew better. And sorry, but all cool peeps did coke.. It was fun.
Everyone has to mention.."she's high on cocaine". Who the fuck cares other than those of us who are happy she survived it.You all only even know this because she has been blatantly honest with the public for a long time. She never had to be. I spent the entire fucking decade of the 90's coked out and drinking whiskey ect ect.. How do you know this? Because I just told you. And so did Stevie..let it go folks. It never really shadowed her talent. I'm happy she has accomplished so much in spite of herself.
Who cares?? You’re WRONG!!! F’n WRONG. When I was in high school I worked and worked to afford to get tickets to Fleetwood Mac. My friends and I were SO excited and the tickets were super expensive. Well, Nicks comes staggering out, came to the mic, fell to her knees and had to be dragged offstage by roadies and stage hands and she screamed out profanity after profanity. She never came back. We weren’t offered a refund or a do-over and no apology from Nicks. So YEAH! It fuckin matters! What tf is wrong with you!?
i love how when he describes his meaning of "bella donna" hes like i tried my best; then she says "i can see that that"... but your wrong, LOL shes so funny.
The reason Stevie Nicks seems so different as well as captivating to most people is because she is an INFJ in the Myers-Briggs personality system. INFJs are the most rare of all the types. I believe only 1% of the population are INFJs. INFJ stands for Introvert, Intuitor (meaning she's extremely intuitive), Feeler (meaning she makes decisions based on her feelings and values rather than cold logic like us Thinkers who are on the other end of the decision-making spectrum) and Judger (meaning she is likes structure and to get things accomplished and make decisions quickly most of the time as opposed to Perceivers who are mostly open-ended in their approach to the world and less productive). It's the combination of her high-level intuition, introversion and feeling that makes her so unique, creative, eccentric and special. Intuitors in general are uncommon, only making up about 25% of the population while the other 75% are instead Sensors (taking in info mostly via their physical world rather than using intuition like the intuitors). So we intuitors are usually viewed as somewhat weird. I am an INTJ so I get that from people as well. Anyway, back to Stevie. INFJs tend to be the most adored of all the 16 personality types due to their intelligence, creativity, warmth, charm and charisma, strong values and passion. My Mom was an INFJ and my first girlfriend who I fell in love with was also an INFJ, so I know them well. Fascinating types!

hey you haters, everybody deals with personal demons in life. I have loved her since1975 and Buckingham Nicks. She has remained my personal poet, every song she has written holds a personal meaning for me. Rock on Stevie, you are my girl!
She is magical, just wonderful! It is incredible to see Stevie get so passionate about her work. Nothing she writes is insipid or pointless; everything on record is important, to her or someone, somewhere - and she knows it.
I'll never stop loving you my queen take me with you I sang you all my life you are my life rock on forever and ever you beautiful witch my queen I love you and was with all the way I'll follow you anywhere anytime my queen
7:50 The honesty and sincerity regarding reason for Bella Donna here is obvious. Trying to battle her own demons while helping others find answers to their own personal issues. Love Stevie. Takes so much to give all your spirit. God Bless Stevie.
thank you thnk you thank you!!! for posting this. she looks great but she was way on pills and booze (as i've heard B 4 , Stevie never smoked pot, she thought it would ruin her voice). Now, H, i'm not sure if she shot up. "Bella Donna" had so many great songs on it!! Stevie!! I love U!! i have worshipped U since I heard "Sara" on the radio in 1979, asking who is that. I love that song! A friend said to me, she's in Fleetwood Mac.
She gets your attention and holds it forever! She is enigmatic, charismatic and utterly and completely fascinating. A very, very talented woman/Goddess.
Actually Shane, in an interview she complained that she had bought alot of black clothes and how people thought she was into the occult and wrote her things that scared her so she stopped wearing them and how unfair that was. Check your facts.
Yeah....I didn't get the whole "Rambling On" comment EITHER! Just an honest Stevie telling what IT IS. On drugs or not? WTFCares! EVERYONE damn near, was on somethin back then. MY microphone hittin the floor............ "
Ironic that the song featured most in this interview isn't one of her songs. Tom Petty wrote "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around". Still love Stevie though.
@@penname40 E X A C T L Y !!! She just never made anything out of her life! I totally see where you’re coming from. I had a friend criticizing her for that one time. The friend Who is talking about how disastrous of a life Stevie had, btw Worked as a housekeeper for a local motel. Go figure.
But then that scared feeling went away because Stevie was so far gone with her addiction that Jimmy Iovine literally walked out before her third album Rock Alittle was even completed...
5:00 By the end of the 1970's, Stevie and Fleetwood Mac were fully GACKED OUT OF THEIR MINDS ON COKE (Bella Donna -"the drug that can kill you...thin face...alone in a motel room..). At this time, she was this brilliant artist who's music wasn't being respected. So she said 'fuck this' and went solo and blew Fleetwood Mac away. By the time Bella Donna came out, Fleetwood Mac had peaked and never rose further than the absolute masterpieces of music they created in the 1970's. Not slamming them. It's just a fact. The band's music holds up and has become more incredible to listen to over the decades... But Bella Donna is one of the greatest solo albums in Rock and Roll. As fans, we can only imagine what the band must've thought the first time they each heard the album. She offered nearly ALL OF IT to them and, according to this interview, they blew her off. This is a story of female empowerment in a the male dominated ROCK GOD world of a dying era.... 6:05 But, it's 1981, so the story of chemical dependency can only be told in metaphor..... BELLA DONNA ! 😎✌😉
I appreciate your comment but I think “blew her off” is a bit inaccurate. You can’t blame the band for not recording all the songs that made it onto Bella Donna. There were three primary singer/songwriters in the band and there was only room for so many songs on the albums and they each had more songs than could fit (which is one reason Tusk became a double-album). Overall the band made good decisions about which of her songs to include.
Yes I went to the fleetwood mac concert april 17th 2009 in Cleveland ohio my home town she sounds soo good. Almost as good as rumors. But, what do you mean she was in pain like we all are? I dont understand that comment lol.
Well the album was made. And they became a couple. I think anyone can see that Stevie is high and not just tired during this interview. But she says really great things about her own work and also about touring. I love her regardless. It isn't for nothing she is the real Queen of Rock. She is really special. She continues to do her music. And that she wrote a lot of her best songs so early is something to admire.
Hey she makes perfect sense to me - I guess I speak Stevie - LOL I just love her and I know exactly what she is talking about especially when she speaks about Jimmy Iovine - whom I also love - he set her straight - at least straight enough to do a couple of albums, until he left her right before Rock A Little came out & that is when she checked into Betty Ford - she talks as though she may be a little spoiled, like nobody has ever said NO to her & maybe people should have - I can relate to her!
at her best from 1979 to 1983 her voice was beautiful and she was HOT altough she was in the 70's to probly hotter but i dont know i just like those years ?
Lots...but i'm sure they all did their share back then. I remember cocaine was considered no more dangerous than a "pick me up" back in the seventies. Times sure have changed...

think elvis .... think lorreta lynn.. think of all those bands in the 70's that pumped out hit after hit in such a short time.. god bless
*_She's Lit!_*
hey you haters, everybody deals with personal demons in life. I have loved her since1975 and Buckingham Nicks. She has remained my personal poet, every song she has written holds a personal meaning for me. Rock on Stevie, you are my girl!
crushing talent and beauty those eyes tho
@EveDonovan: I agree! She is magic to me. Pure magic. The songs created by her, have enchanted me enough to make me realize she is a true Goddess.
LOL, 3:17 cracks me up! No doubt about it Nick's really is an undeniable talent! Loved her with Mac and as a solo artist too!
Wowwww, you need to seek help.
well said, shane nicks. peace. : )
7:50 The honesty and sincerity regarding reason for Bella Donna here is obvious. Trying to battle her own demons while helping others find answers to their own personal issues. Love Stevie. Takes so much to give all your spirit. God Bless Stevie.
Honest, classy, lovely, magical woman.
thank you thnk you thank you!!! for posting this. she looks great but she was way on pills and booze (as i've heard B 4 , Stevie never smoked pot, she thought it would ruin her voice).
What a beautiful, captivating woman....
❤🎉😊
She gets your attention and holds it forever! She is enigmatic, charismatic and utterly and completely fascinating. A very, very talented woman/Goddess.
The thing is they are NOT songs. Lindsey made them into songs. They are poems.
Ce n'est pas parce que Stevie Nicks ne joue pas d'un instrument sur scène qu'elle ne sait pas écrire des chansons., ce sont bien ses chansons
Not true
Lindsay helped make her simple progressions she wrote her songs to into a record. She IS a songwriter as well as a poet.
I know, right?? Why do people think she writes the music to her words?
She does NOT.
Jimmy Iovine seems like a remarkable person. Gaga is working with him now. I can see a lot of similarities between theb2 women. True musicianship.
Thanks, this is good! And yeah, there are some real similarities...
+MrSchemltz LoL people have been saying that since 2008, & she's still winning awards & breaking records 😂
OoMASEoO all controlled by the “industry “ now. It’s all the same shit musicians winning for the last 10 years. They’re not artists 🤣
S. is a 'White Witch"....shw knows exactly what Belladonna means to her .
Luv ya S.
J.
beautiful, yes. Totally of her face, yes.
Don't think Stevie is on drugs here... this is just the way she is! Incredibly honest, sincere, and lovable.
Actually Shane, in an interview she complained that she had bought alot of black clothes and how people thought she was into the occult and wrote her things that scared her so she stopped wearing them and how unfair that was. Check your facts.
She's FKN amazing
Yeah....I didn't get the whole "Rambling On" comment EITHER! Just an honest Stevie telling what IT IS. On drugs or not? WTFCares! EVERYONE damn near, was on somethin back then. MY microphone hittin the floor............
"
Ironic that the song featured most in this interview isn't one of her songs. Tom Petty wrote "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around". Still love Stevie though.
midnight cat queen?
I like everything about Stevie Nicks, I grew up with her!! Love her!!
I can’t relate to the complaining of a multi millionaire rock star…but wow…..she loves Tom Petty. I can certainly relate to that.
Such a shame she went so deep into drugs.
Gypsy Treasures yeah, it really kept her from being successful or living a full life.
@@penname40 E X A C T L Y !!! She just never made anything out of her life! I totally see where you’re coming from. I had a friend criticizing her for that one time. The friend Who is talking about how disastrous of a life Stevie had, btw Worked as a housekeeper for a local motel. Go figure.
But then that scared feeling went away because Stevie was so far gone with her addiction that Jimmy Iovine literally walked out before her third album Rock Alittle was even completed...
shes wasted on here i was with her in 77 in her dressing room i can tell who am i to cast stones thou shes the best
mark zimmerman No you weren't.
I dont understand that comment lol.
what he said to her was basically she stop getting stoned out of her mind to make the record or else
I'll never stop loving you my queen
daaaaaaamn stevie-
rock on gold dust woman.
at her best from 1979 to 1983 her voice was beautiful and she was HOT altough she was in the 70's to probly hotter but i dont know i just like those years ?
omg she was so beautiful!
Lots...but i'm sure they all did their share back then. I remember cocaine was considered no more dangerous than a "pick me up" back in the seventies. Times sure have changed...
Stevie i love you sooo much but your not good for lonely people >_< still love ya!
bless her heart. she just looks very tired
