Many of you are asking about which IV to consider. For IV Data, refer to Nifty Implied Volatility data. These days most brokers provide this info on their terminal. If your broker does not give you this info, then google "Nifty Implied Volatility" chart and you will find many resources. Nifty IV is not same as India VIX.

Video was a good watch..... 3 questions: 1. On what timeframe is the option OI bar chart built, as OI changes on daily basis. 2. Every option strike price has different IV, so how do u get a single figure to plot a graph. 3. Where from can we get previous days IV figures to plot such graphs?

At 18:00 in this video "Open Interest only indicates the Net position in the market. How do we determine whether Buildup in Puts/Calls is Long Position in Puts/Calls or Writing in Puts. " This completely defines the logic of half a dozen other videos on the internet which say, increase in OI at 10500 Put levels means high support, while increase in OI at 11100 CALL levels means high resistance at that level!! I had asked you previously also in another video (and you had replied too), isn't increase in OI at a particular strike price, brought about only when someone writes at that level. When there is no write at a level, how can a long position be created? Lastly, PCR which you talk about is for the whole Option Chain or per strike? I have seen charts with PCR showing per Strike. Thanks a lot for this video. Appreciate it from my heart.
Hi Arvind, if you are just looking at OI and price, your interpretation is correct. When you include pcr and IV, then that's not the case always. You have to find what works for you. If you like looking only at OI and Price, then just stick to it. But if you combine everything, you have to be open to these rules.
Hi. I have the same doubt what Mr. Aravind is asking. Please explain if max oi in call/put is considered as resistance and support. This combination of oi incr.+ iv.incr. + price incr. will be long build up at that call or resistance level which is giving other way conclusion like bullish. Both giving diff perception. Please explain.

awsome video . Nice work . Keep it up . have seen this video multiple times . and was analyzing it too with option chain . I want to discuss something about todays week .. Price structure of the market shows bull breakout after a trading range of 2 months . and IV of CE chain was on the lower side nearing about 10 and 11 .. on the other hand IV of PE was on the higher side i.e near 15 16 range .. Today on friday we see OI increase on CE side while PE side OI decreased . market also was falling today after 5 6 consecutive bull sessions. PCR was initially on the higher side around 1.6 while at close its nearing 1.3 . IV of CE side is nearly at that range only from the start of the series that is 10 to 11 range .. while IV of PE side is in 15 16 range. I am seeing only FEB series option chain of NIFTY. you have mentioned 4 important rules at the end of the video Point 3 or point 4 i should take to analyse . PCR was falling from higher ranges today with what i have observed i have mentioned . Which according to you would be a valid analysis . was it CE long formation or heavy CE writing . ? Throw your insight on this . we could get better understanding then . just a case study.

As per fiis derivatives stat (NSE) today 5 mar 19 below things happened as i got from a net source - fii bought 179 contracts of index future worth 143 crs 3.6k longs contracts added & 3.4k shorts contracts added by fiis and net oi increased by 7.1 k contracts... Kindly if possible tell me how 3.6k long & 3.4 k shorts values come here.. Trying hard to understand but not got any method till now... Very very thanks...

In the example you took at the end of the video, the conclusion was "pcr falling + oi build up at puts decreasing + ivr rising" making it short covering in puts. However, we also saw o.i. increasing at calls. So it could also be interpreted as " pcr falling + build up at calls oi increasing + iv rising" making it a 3rd rule of long formation in calls. Or since price action is bearish, you have resorted to rule no. 6? Raunak, its my humble request to you to help me get over this confusion at the earliest.. But, it can also be taken for 1st two months. As sometimes, third month distorts data some bit. And someday, I'd love to come to Tamil Nadu. Never been there. Thanks once again.

In the ending part where you've shown a bit of upmove from 16th Oct and further pullback is due to short covering in puts, what I could infer was that OI hadn't decreased in 10500, 600, 700 till 11000. Did you consider fut OI too or COI? Because in the red and green bars OI was showing an increase in puts OI and not decrease but you said the OI in pe decreased and resulting into short covering, please correct me here. Thanks a ton for sharing such invaluable knowledge! I really appreciate for all that you do, a lot to learn from you!

Many of you are asking about which IV to consider. For IV Data, refer to Nifty Implied Volatility data. These days most brokers provide this info on their terminal.
If your broker does not give you this info, then google "Nifty Implied Volatility" chart and you will find many resources.
Nifty IV is not same as India VIX.

1. On what timeframe is the option OI bar chart built, as OI changes on daily basis.
2. Every option strike price has different IV, so how do u get a single figure to plot a graph.
3. Where from can we get previous days IV figures to plot such graphs?

2. That's through option pricing model. This data is available with broker these days. Who is your broker?
3. You will have to manually keep a record. Hence, I said its tedious.

This completely defines the logic of half a dozen other videos on the internet which say, increase in OI at 10500 Put levels means high support, while increase in OI at 11100 CALL levels means high resistance at that level!!
I had asked you previously also in another video (and you had replied too), isn't increase in OI at a particular strike price, brought about only when someone writes at that level. When there is no write at a level, how can a long position be created?
Lastly, PCR which you talk about is for the whole Option Chain or per strike? I have seen charts with PCR showing per Strike.

Hi Arvind, if you are just looking at OI and price, your interpretation is correct. When you include pcr and IV, then that's not the case always.
You have to find what works for you. If you like looking only at OI and Price, then just stick to it. But if you combine everything, you have to be open to these rules.

Hi. I have the same doubt what Mr. Aravind is asking. Please explain if max oi in call/put is considered as resistance and support. This combination of oi incr.+ iv.incr. + price incr. will be long build up at that call or resistance level which is giving other way conclusion like bullish. Both giving diff perception. Please explain.

awsome video . Nice work . Keep it up . have seen this video multiple times . and was analyzing it too with option chain .
I want to discuss something about todays week .. Price structure of the market shows bull breakout after a trading range of 2 months . and IV of CE chain was on the lower side nearing about 10 and 11 .. on the other hand IV of PE was on the higher side i.e near 15 16 range .. Today on friday we see OI increase on CE side while PE side OI decreased . market also was falling today after 5 6 consecutive bull sessions. PCR was initially on the higher side around 1.6 while at close its nearing 1.3 . IV of CE side is nearly at that range only from the start of the series that is 10 to 11 range .. while IV of PE side is in 15 16 range. I am seeing only FEB series option chain of NIFTY.

Point 3 or point 4 i should take to analyse . PCR was falling from higher ranges today with what i have observed i have mentioned . Which according to you would be a valid analysis . was it CE long formation or heavy CE writing . ? Throw your insight on this . we could get better understanding then . just a case study.

As per fiis derivatives stat (NSE) today 5 mar 19 below things happened as i got from a net source - fii bought 179 contracts of index future worth 143 crs 3.6k longs contracts added & 3.4k shorts contracts added by fiis and net oi increased by 7.1 k contracts... Kindly if possible tell me how 3.6k long & 3.4 k shorts values come here.. Trying hard to understand but not got any method till now... Very very thanks...

Watching this gold again.. But will you please clear my one doubt? In the example you took at the end of the video, the conclusion was "pcr falling + oi build up at puts decreasing + ivr rising" making it short covering in puts.
However, we also saw o.i. increasing at calls. So it could also be interpreted as " pcr falling + build up at calls oi increasing + iv rising" making it a 3rd rule of long formation in calls.
Or since price action is bearish, you have resorted to rule no. 6?
Raunak, its my humble request to you to help me get over this confusion at the earliest..

Implied Volatility chart is not VIX. This is taken from Option chain and is of ATM Options.
PCR is for 3 months. But, it can also be taken for 1st two months. As sometimes, third month distorts data some bit.
And someday, I'd love to come to Tamil Nadu. Never been there.

Are you looking for each strike. Oi +iv+pcr or combined. You are from which state. Your english is excellent and sounds like a south Indian.
You can look for ATM IV, PCR across2 monthd and OI at specific strike prices for all series. This would be a good combination.

In the ending part where you've shown a bit of upmove from 16th Oct and further pullback is due to short covering in puts, what I could infer was that OI hadn't decreased in 10500, 600, 700 till 11000. Did you consider fut OI too or COI? Because in the red and green bars OI was showing an increase in puts OI and not decrease but you said the OI in pe decreased and resulting into short covering, please correct me here.
