You have good points about Chevy pickup trucks. It appears I have a totally different 2024 Chevy Silverado than you have with the 6.2L but they both function the same. I took delivery of the 2024 Chevy Silverado RST first edition EV. To start with the seat comfort is very good in the RST, having very thick seats and backs (in front, not so much in rear with mid-gate option) with lots of cushion for long drives (I do not get seat fatigue). Chevy seems to have fixed that issue. The super cruise does have that abrupt cut off on some occasions, but is more dramatic in the RST EV due to one pedal driving being defaulted after the super cruise shuts down. The brake check is less apparent to drivers behind you with the 6.2L. In any case that is an issue. Chevy does not use chrome trim in any RST (LT yes) trim accents, but the piano gloss black that is used has the same effect with glare, besides the Chevy EV cabs are raked forward more for the slipstream effect and the glare is apparent no matter your seat height setting. The heads up display does not have options to flip though as the 6.2L does. However, the DIC and the infotainment displays have extreme flexibility to what is put on the display due to the nature of an EV. The transmission is where the most differences are between the two Chevy trucks. Instant torque through the entire accelerator pedal range is what you get with the RST. That is the number one reason why I chose the RST over the 6.2L. The RST empty curb weight is 9000lb and I can pull zero to sixty in 4 seconds flat with no tire spin. The RST is devastatingly fast. The entire drive-train is whisper quiet. With the RST purchase I am totally saddled with subscription base applications that absolutely cannot be turned off or the truck does not function. I totally agree with you on this gripe. Enjoy your truck, I absolutely am enjoying my truck. The 2024 Chevy truck lineup is a total winner.

Makes sense, I started looking at the diesel but decided not to for a couple different reasons. I've never had a diesel and didn't want to necessarily deal with the DEF also. I guess deterred by the unknown. Like any mechanical item, I've heard there is a lot to deal with when it comes to diesel engines and ensuring they are driven regularly and at a specific mph. And If this newer model uses a plan to use navigation is kind of disappointing 😞
@@monovale442 ah, I"m sure it's a tough call to get one of the newer models. I waited 20 years to buy a brand new truck so I guess I'm not a good reference for upgrading earlier. You will love it if you do.
Over 15hr drive and my a** felt like I was sitting on a rock the whole time. I liked the 2003-2006 seats! I’m at 0.5% front to rear, 5% brow, 35% windshield tint and the glare is still there in different areas. My 2024 cameras will stay on at over 100mph too, on both 24’s lol
Thanks for watching and commenting, yeah the seats I'm not a huge fan of but they could be worse like.a Toyota Tacoma... :). Stay tuned for more.
@@GeoRides114 I went with the iridescent white’24 and have never purchased anything but black…so 6mos later, I’ll have a new black HC again with premium 2 package. I passed on the one with black rims because the aluminum shine just flows better but I definitely love the ‘22 model rims better than the 23-24.
You’re welcome, I’ll check out your upcoming vids
I got the same truck but with the 3.0 diesel. The best I have got on the highway is 29.5
Oh wow, I haven't gotten even close to that. On Friday, check out my new video about my likes where I discuss my fuel mileage on a recent trip. Can't touch your mpg but it's all good. Thanks for watching, commenting and stay tuned!
Your number 1 is the only actual issue. The infotainment system, being Android Auto OS, is the worst modern system UI and UX. It’s slow, sluggish, organized poorly, and sometimes just doesn’t load right.
Yeah, its unfortunate that it is that way. I had some issues early on but since I switched off the quick start function, it's been operating correctly. Slow and sluggish, I 100% agree with. I appreciate you watching and commenting! Stay tuned!
Good points. For this price point, I would have liked to have seen better interior lighting, including ambient.
Agreed, the interior lighting definitely leaves something to be desired.
Does the 6.2 require premium gas?…
@@minusx31 the manual calls for premium gas which I don’t mind using. I know some people don’t use premium but I’m not willing to do that. Not worth it. Thanks for watching, commenting and stay tuned!
Agree on the seats My '20 Denali 2500 leather seats were super hard. My '20 Silverado 1500 RST cloth seat are just as hard. If they dont change this next near ill be buying another brand. Eyeballing the new Ram. Never owned one but buddies have em and the interior and seats are 100x better.
Nice, I've only owned a Dodge Van and a Neon, both decent cars but didn't have them longer than 4 years or so. I'm sure Ram is a different story in terms of the quality they put into them. We'll see on these seats, a! Thanks for watching, commenting and stay tuned for more!
I would not like the MPG on 6.2L. I got rid of my 6.2 for 3.0 LZO DuraMax and get 35% better fuel milage and pay less for diesel than 93 octane recommended for 6.2
Makes sense, I started looking at the diesel but decided not to for a couple different reasons. I've never had a diesel and didn't want to necessarily deal with the DEF also. I guess deterred by the unknown. Like any mechanical item, I've heard there is a lot to deal with when it comes to diesel engines and ensuring they are driven regularly and at a specific mph. My truck may sit for some time (because of the motorcycle) so I didn't want to deal with that aspect. I appreciate you watching and commenting, ultimately when people buy what works best for them it's all good especially if the manufacturer offers a number of options.
Unfortunately, car maker cost cutting agendas have caused reduced padding for seats. In future, you want a comfortable seat, it will be additional cost.
It's unfortunate. Thanks for watching, commenting and stay tuned!
Theres no trim below the screen on the sierra denali and it makes the screen look bigger..
@@chriss499 now that you mention it, the screen is in a different location. Honestly I preferred it higher like in the Silverado but I wouldn’t put a Denali out of bed for having a lower screen. 😂. Thanks for watching, commenting and stay tuned!
I have a 2023 high country duramax silverado, and just with little more than a year of light use, it is at the dealer more than a month waiting for the hvac coolant flow control valve, and it is useless. No one can tell when the part is going to be available. It is a shame that such a pricey vehicle has no spare parts to get it back in the road.
Man, I feel for you on that. Couldn't imagine having the vehicle just sitting. I do appreciate you watching and commenting, stay tuned for more!!
Man
Everything is a subscription now. I use CarPlay and Maps because I’ve never liked Chevys Navigation.
I agree, very frustrating but I guess we have to get used to this business model until something different comes out. Thanks for watching, commenting and stay tuned for more!
Thanks
You live in Cleveland? Raiders fan? ... that's ok, enjoyed this video.
@@LandParkColby lol. No I live in Virginia, visited Cleveland once (Oatey headquarters). Is that the skyline behind me, Cleveland? Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
@@GeoRides114 For some reason I was thinking Cleveland, the pyramid building sort of reminded me of the R&R hall of fame ... plus the industrial stuff ... oh well ...
@@LandParkColby ah okay, I was outside of the R&R but didn't have a chance to go in although I did make it to the Pro Football Hall of Fame! I'm a huge sports fan!
@@GeoRides114 Being in VA, do you do any commuting on 495 or 95? I drive 495 every day and I really think I'd love Super Cruise for the commute... Love the truck! Enjoy that L87!
@@Knight21030 I do on occasion travel on 495 and 95. Definitely a good system with a few negatives but over all worth having. Do you think you will get the subscription once the 3 years is up? For me it depends on what I’m doing with the truck at the time. Thanks for watching, commenting and stay tuned for more!
i always feel as if i am sitting in a hole. i am 5’9” have to raise seat way up to see over dash
Yeah, I don't quite have that same challenge, I've got some cushion to work with....lol. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more likes about the truck. See how they compare!
Yeah man I am 18 wheeler truck do that
Lower tail gate want lock,muli-tail gate (5:51pm)
Take notes GM !
I agree with the compass thing , tundra does same thing, stupid
I was recently told I could put it below in the gauge cluster but seems to me it could be in the HUD as well. Thanks for watching, and commenting, stay tuned for more!!!
