      Exactly Swaggy lol. Had Dooku actually been able to convince Anakin, force lightning from Palpatine would have been the end result. Bottom line, Dooku wasnt leaving that room alive.

      curved hilts were perfect for form II of lightsaber form makashi, which Count dooku performed. It allowed for greater control of the lightsaber and form II was mainly used for lightsaber to lightsaber combat and lacked in blaster deflection, which anakin did quite alot. Thus dooku's lightsaber wouldn't quite work for his fighting style.

    • @Stokkeland23
      @Stokkeland23 8 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      There is no reason.
      It's a plot hole, cause it's a movie.
      If it was real life, he would be screaming Sidious is the Sith and has been using him and pleading for his life all day long like a squealing pig.

    • @Stokkeland23
      @Stokkeland23 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that has already been established and has absolutely nothing to do with what i said.
      The guy who is making the video is making up stuff simply to fill a plot hole.
      You can say why was Vader's fighting style so slow in A New Hope and you can make a video that he was injured, he was older, but again.
      It's just a plot hole, in movies they have plot holes.
      They make mistakes, stop trying to rationalize stuff that is just a mistake.

    What if Dooku revealed Palpatine's identity above Coruscant?
    (Above Coruscant in the CIS command ship Obi-Wan and Anakin reach the Chancellor and Count Dooku enters like in canon).
    Palpatine: "Get help you are no match for him, he is a Sith Lord."
    Obi-Wan: "Chancelor Palpatine, Sith Lords are our specialty."
    (Count Dooku approaches).
    Dooku: "Your swords please. You wouldn't want to make a mess of things in front of the Dark Lord of The Sith."
    Anakin: "Oh don't worry Count we'll make this quick."
    Obi-Wan: "You won't get away this time."
    Dooku: "Who said I was talking about me."
    (Dooku said smirking).
    Dooku: "Kenobi you remember what I told you three years ago. How the Republic is under the control of The Dark Lord of The Sith?"
    Palpatine: "Why believe anything he saying. He cut off your arm Anakin, and tried to kill both of you on many occasions."
    Dooku: "I assure you what I tell you is true. The Dark Lord is sitting right there."
    (Dooku said as he pointed the hilt of his lightsaber at Palpatine).
    (Palpatine's face contorted into one of anger).
    (Anakin and Obi-Wan felt a tension in the room they had not felt before. Dooku did not draw his blade but kept it ready just encase one of the Jedi or his master tried something).
    (Palpatine wanted to kill Dooku right there, but did not want to expose himself).
    (Dooku would then talk about conversations that happened between him and Palpatine in private, and about how Palpatine got the Sandpeople/Tusken Raiders to kill Anakin's mother).
    (Both Jedi, especially Anakin would look in disbelief at Palpatine as Dooku went on. He even told them about how he wanted to use Anakin. It was all starting to make sense. Obi-Wan and Anakin drew their lightsabers not at Dooku, but at Palpatine).
    Obi Wan: "In the name of the Galactic Republic..."
    Anakin: "You are under arrest."
    (Palpatine sent out a wave of Force lightning pushing them back, and then freed himself of his restraints).
    Dooku: "Get up you fools."
    (Dooku told them as he went over to them).
    Dooku: "I didn't spend all this time as a double agent to die here! Besides it will take all of us to defeat him."
    Anakin: "What?"
    Dooku: "I'll explain later if we survive this."
    (They all readied themselves as Palpatine got up, two lightsabers came out of his sleves).
    Palpatine: "It's treason then."
    (Palpatine then leaped at them from across the room red sabers twirling and clashing with Dooku's, Kenobi's, and Skywalker's lightsabers).
    (The fight to decide the fate of the galaxy had begun).
    Any one is welcome to use this for a "what if" or versus set up if you want to. Just give me credit for the idea

      212th Trooper I think Star Wars Theory would like this

    • @johnwatsoniv384
      @johnwatsoniv384 8 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Highly doubtful that Dooku just suddenly is a double agent, and it would really, really hurt the story. More likely he gets the two Jedi to help him kill Palpatine (or die trying) if he's even able to convince them, then has the droids on board plus Grievous help him kill whoever's left. Then the separatists, having essentially chopped off the Republic's head and not having any restraints from Palpatine anymore, would use their numbers to try and overwhelm the Jedi and a now extremely disorganized and disarrayed Republic military. Once that's done he would then force the Republic to accept his peace terms, and perhaps even the threat of that after having killed their leader and exposed him as a Sith would make the Republic give in without anymore fighting. Then with that massive droid army at his disposal, Dooku would most definitely be the most powerful man in the galaxy and at least have kind of fulfilled the Stih grand plan.

    Cuz he was in shock. He had felt the greatest sure of pride and happiness before facing Anakin but then finding out Sidious crossed him he had no idea what to do. Plus Anakin wouldn't believe him. A similar thing happened in TFA when Kylo Ren couldn't block cheewies bowcaster bolt because he was in shock from killing his father, he couldn't move, until the bolt gave him the adrenaline to do so. Plus Dooku and Anakin together wouldn't be enough to kill Palpatine

      *hmm not sure about that, 1 of the best lightsaber wielders and the chosen 1 filled with rage could be a true challenge 4 him*
      ^Mainly this! Palpy's good but not invincible, he won those onscreen duels against; Mace and Yoda (who survived) cos of circumstances and shock surprise elements backing him up mainly. While a two on one duel between him and Dooku and Anakin working together might be very similar to Sidious duel with Darth Maul and his brother Savage Opress in season 5 of the Clone Wars series. Count Dooku is a more powerful wielder of the force than Maul and slightly more skilled swordsman, while Anakin was always growing in power and skill because of his experiences during the Clone Wars. both of them working together to takedown Sidious not only would be a sight to see but most probably see Sidious being defensive for once.
      And Dooku also casts Sith Lightning, something Darth Sidious himself prefers to rely on. Dooku would bring the years of experience while Anakin would be the skilled young warrior with youth on his side, Sidious would be heavily challenged methinks in that given scenario!

      @ScrubNigel 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Maybe. Maybe not. I'm not sure we have any canon source of how old Palpatine is. I know some stories explained his upbringing and how he met Plaguies, but not sure that's canon.
      In that case - all we know is that he was "extremely old"; that was the description given to McDiarmid by Lucas before playing the role.
      For all we know, he could be a lot older than he looks in The Phantom Menace

    • @Mukation
      @Mukation 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      NjA In any case, Dooku was an old man for a human, he's atleast 50-60 years older than Anakin. The moment he lost the fight he knew he was no longer part of the plan.

    • @sshaw303
      @sshaw303 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Alexander Inget I think Dooku thought he was an equal to Sidious. He had to know he was too old to be an heir. An argument could be made that he was Dark Jedi not Sith, and accepted that his fate was sealed and this was his role.

    Here's a good question do you think palpatine gave Anikan the force visions of padmae dying? I mean that's the reason why he was turning to the dark side am I right or am i right?

  • @RJ_Ehlert
    @RJ_Ehlert 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I really thought it was because Dooku even in that moment was still loyal to Palpatine, because he still fully believed in Palpatine's vision of an Empire that would bring order to the galaxy. Even though he was shocked and hurt by Palpatine's betrayal, if he were to try to undermine Palpatine by telling Anakin, he'd be sabotaging that dream of the Empire that he had worked for.
    This is coupled with the idea that Dooku never fully turned to the dark side of the Force, as he never developed Sith eyes, so he was still capable of a selfless act like staying silent, to let Palatine create the Empire.

    Anakin was still good, he resisted his urge to kill Duku until Sidious got in his head. Later, when Anakin did learn Papaltine was Sidious, he ran to Windu. And that was even after Sidious told Anakin he could save Padme. Had Duku revealed the truth, there is no way Anakin would have sided with Sidious.
    You can see the look in Duku's eyes, his shock was absolutely the reason he didn't think to do reveal Papaltine's identity.

    yo bro-skey.. .. def enjoyed this Vid... . I remember we were all having this convo in the comments on that vid you did a little while back. I'm glad you decided to make a vid to get to the bottom of why shit went down like that on the invisible hand. I particularly was feeling you on the point of Dooku feeling the current change in the Force. that would def make a lot of sense as to Dooku ultimately excepting defeat. plus seeing Anakin fully engulfed in the dark side at that moment of the kill order, it was pretty much a rap for Dooku. plus u can see Anakin wanted to give in to that kill order, Sidious just goating him along until he did it (DO IT!). Lol! thanx for the vid Homie. this def clears up a lot of head scratching from the past few years.. . . R.I.P. Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) We def gonna miss you baby! The Force is with you!

    They would turn Anakin towards the dark side? I think that would indicate red flag. Think about it. I don't recall any of the characters growing up slowly being turned to the dark side during the various cartoons and other stuff. Since there is a rule of two that should have indicated he was being replaced.

    • @johnwatsoniv384
      @johnwatsoniv384 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Keep in mind the Rule of Two didn't necessarily have to stay in effect after the grand plan was completed, and it didn't really have to be followed in the first place. Most Sith apprentices broke it while they worked to overthrow their masters by taking on their own apprentices, and plenty of masters broke it to replace apprentices. Plagueis and Palpatine broke it with Darth Maul, who died at pretty much the same exact time Plagueis did. Those two also were already working Dooku into their plans by that point. I'm guessing Dooku assumed that it was to become some sort of Triumvirate with Palpatine at the top and Dooku and Anakin filling different, but equal roles or something like that. Or Dooku planned to get Palpatine's full teachings then overthrow him. What I think was stupid on Dooku's part was the idea that he could possibly just claim he didn't know what the separatists were doing and get the general public or the senate to ever forgive him and allow him a position within the empire. He should've known, especially given his intelligence and charisma, that as the CIS head of state there was no way he could avoid retribution from the republic for the war. To everyone but Palpatine and eventually Yoda and Obi Wan, he was the driving force behind the whole thing. It was all his fault and he started it in their eyes. He should've known that that gave him no chance.

    Count Dooku must have known that Anakin would not have believed his claim that Palpatine was his Sith master. I also like to think that Dooku was so bitter and disillusioned with the Jedi, he would rather die than allow the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic they served to survive by stopping Darth Sidious.
    It still bugs me that Dooku would go along with Sidious's plot to turn Anakin Skywalker to the dark side as the elder Sith must have known his master and partner sought to replace him with Skywalker. Dooku was just so arrogant and sure of his abilities that he believed there could be no other outcome to the duel than his total victory. Following that, Dooku would have likely killed Anakin instead, forcing Sidious to keep him as his apprentice.

  • @JohnLoeffler78
    @JohnLoeffler78 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This was a great video and ALL great points! I have a simpler and shorter answer... Anakin would not have believed Count Dooku! Palpatine/ Sidiuos was a master of manipulation and cloking the reality of situations. That's how he operated as Senator for so long under the radar of the Jedi. He would have simply told Anakin that Dooku was trying to regain the upper hand in the duel and how he (Palpatine) was too weak and old to possibly be the Dark Lord of the Sith!!

  • @David-And-A-Half
    @David-And-A-Half 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would imagine there's an extreme level of shock. You can see it in Dooku's face. He's trying to figure out what's going on. Dooku knew the master plan, he knew how it was meant to end, and now Palpatine is telling a Jedi, a member of the faction he's obsessed with destroying, to kill him. By the time his head comes off he's still not sure if he's been betrayed or if losing his hands is somehow part of the plan. It actually reminds me a little of Palpatine's death in Return of the Jedi. You've got to remember how far Dooku has gone as part of this plan. At this point there's a layer of disbelief because if he's been betrayed then it was all for nothing. It would be like finding out the girl you sacrificed everything for is cheating on you.

  • @corymccarty8603
    @corymccarty8603 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Something I think you may have missed but touched on in your video about why Dooku didn't have "Sith Eyes" is this. Dooku's whole reason for jpining The Dark Side and joining the Sith. Dooku felt the Republic was faulty... that it needed to be brought under the unifying rule of a powerful leader. He had no desire to be that leader, wasn't so immersed in The DarkSide to gain the Sith Eyes or that unyeilding lust for personal power. It was all just a means to change the galaxy for the better in his mind. Now couple that with the fact that Dooku has been a Jedi Master. Jedi were accustomed to serving a goal, an ideal greater than themselves, and they were certainly not beyond sacrificing themselves for that goal. Old habbits die hard. I therefore conclude that in addition to all that you mentioned in this video, when Dooku found himself on his knees looking up at Anakin and realising his death was at hand and for the first time truly perceiving Sideous's full plan..... he accepted it. He saw that this was the path towards the galaxy gettong the change it needed. That this was the part he was intended to play all along. He accepted this as his role and played his part accepting that his death, that the sacrifice of his life towards that end was necessary. That is where the part of him that was still Jedi Master Dooku allowed himself to be sacrificed for the ideal he believed in.
    Just a thought. I'd be real interested in hearing what you think about it.

    In the comic of Star wars Eps 3, that came out some days before the movie hit the cinema. When Dooku is on his kne, with 2 lightsabers on each side of his head. Sidious tells Anikan. "Kill him", Dooku looks at Sidious and says "Master?!", before or after Anikan says "It's not the Jedi way", i can't remember. But then Sidious calls out "Do it!", and Dooku dies. So in the comic Dooku revelas that Palpatin is his master. Either the comic took the liberty to write that, to reveal to the reader that Dooku is suprised and that he knows Palpatin is Sidious, either case they made the comics out of reading the script, watching the storyboards and maybe watching an early cut. In that case, the idea that Dooku had forseen his own death in this fight, does not fit or that he was to shocked to say anything. The Comic does not support this videos conclusion on this matter.

    I believe after the events of The Phantom Menace, Palpatine decided at that very moment that Anakin would become his ultimate discipline. But as a boy and teenager, Anakin was not strong enough. Palpatine knew making Anakin Skywalker his apprentice was the end goal. He cleverly waited for Anakin to reach his peak of power to make his move. Basically he allowed the Jedi to do his work for him. Under the tutelage of the Jedi, Anakin quickly became one of the strongest Jedi Knights in all the order. He was also the youngest member of the Order to ever do so. If he had been given the rank of Master, Anakin would have been one of a kind. Many speculated that Master Windu was jealous of the Chosen One. I don't buy it. I firmly believe Mace Windu was extremely cautious of Anakin since he was a boy, bcuz he, like the other Masters of the Order could not foresee Anakin's future. This was a very dangerous situation for the Jedi bcuz, there was literally no one, and i mean no one the Jedi did not foresee or get some hint or clairvoyance of that person's future. Especially if they if were using all their power to do so. When it came to Anakin, the force revealed nothing to the Jedi of his impending future. The Jedi did not walk a path they could not foresee, this was not the Jedi way. Bcuz of this great uncertainty, the Jedi council denied Anakin the right to become a Jedi. Thinking back on it, that was the smartest thing they could have done. Bcuz of two persistent Jedi, the Council reneged on their final decision. They broke their own oath and protocol for a mere boy, who was the Chosen one. As a Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker possessed great gifts and skill with force. The Jedi Council unanimously denied Anakin the rank of Master. They did so, not bcuz of his physical skill, but bcuz of his mentality. Therefore everyone agreed with Master Windu, that includes Master Yoda and Obi-wan. They all felt Anakin was not yet ready. This is shows that there is no personal biasness being placed on Anakin from Master Windu alone. On several occasions, Anakin did not think or reason like a Jedi. He was, as they deemed, too emotional. I believe if Anakin had at least one person in the order who could understand how he felt, and why he felt the way he did, he would not have betrayed the Jedi. Obi-wan Kenobi was Anakin Skywalker's best friend, and even he was constantly saying he did not understand Anakin at all sometimes. It was as if his apprentice was a complete stranger to him. So Anakin's feelings of being an outcast, or outsider didn't come outta thin air. This came from years of being misunderstood. The Jedi forged Anakin into one of their greatest prodigies, yet kept him at a distance bcuz they could not foresee his future. This is what worked to Palatines' advantage. Why? Bcuz Anakin Skywalker never felt at peace with the Jedi, bcuz they always kept him at a distance. Anakin was never at one with his Jedi brethren and family. He was that one odd ball that they never understood and never fit in. Revenge of the Sith was the culmination of all that I just explained. And it's a sad shame.

    I'd also add that dukoo truly believed in the cause of Palpatine. That the Republic had become too corrupt and needed to be remade (at least that was how the idea was pitched to him). And for that cause dukoo allowed himself to become the enemy of his own jedi friends and Republic kinsmen - a truly massive sacrifice when you think about it, albeit misguided.
    but if his believed so strongly in that cause, it's likely he wouldn't even want to reveal Palpatine's identity, because that would for sure undo everything he had sacrificed so much for; his reputation, position, and life.
