It's interesting because obviously the voice is sketchy as hell but at the same time it seems like on some level they do genuinely care or are at least fond of Misfortune. Like the bit where they break the 4th wall and ask the player to make sure Misfortune has a good time at Phantasmagoria.
I feel like that's done intentionally so the viewer feels like "Mr. Voice" at least won't lead Misfortune into imminent danger, even if he doesn't have Misfortune's best interests at heart. I believe Mr. Voice also kind of has some level of affection towards Misfortune, though its definitely not a healthy one.
There are five realities: Primeve, Ithersta, Pandora, Senersedee, and Apollo. Primeve, the reality of light, it's the home reality of Valokas, ruled by its king: The Great Valokas. I don't know much about Valokas except the fact that they're creatures of pure light and that they embody the human concept of virtue. They are shown in the other game of the same developer as Little Misfortune. The game is called Fran Bow and is much darker! I recommend playing it! Ithersta, the reality of life. All I can say is everything in that place looks like a fever dream. It also screams magic, and Fran Bow ended up there. Pandora, this is the reality where Earth is from. Senersedee, there's not much known about this. But apparently it's where Benjamin came from and where he leads the lost souls of the tormented children as mentioned in his diary. Apollo, it's basically the underworld. It's ruled by mother Mabuka and his son, Remor. Fran Bow has also been in this reality.
