I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way, my friends have been calling me crazy. People have just been shooting straight through my shields

whenever i play montagne my shield just gets shot through, same thing with knives
Happened to me last night I would show u the match replay it’s nuts I was blitz holding an angle and rook just blasted me with p90 while sheild was up
it got to the point for me where I don't see the point in playing shields anymore if I get just shot trough my shield. it gets even more frustrating when on the other end they get away with stuff that they shouldn't have, but if I were on that end it would've destoyed me completly. it just doesn't make any sense.

Fuze and Blitz feel like their shields are made of plexiglass. Monty however feels like a mobile wall
Monty has heavy desync when turning while having the Shield extended

On my end my shield is fully extended and my team eats spectating me also saw it extended

I thought I was just getting insanely unlucky, because a few weeks ago I could use the Fuze shield and wreck people but now I face people and they manage to headshot me
This has been happening for years, especially with Blitz in previous seasons. When Blitz uses his flash, there's a moment where he pushes his shield forward, or when he is sprinting, bullets go right past his shield. Since they probably copied and pasted Monty's new running animation with Blitz's old one, it's happening to Monty, too.
Gotta agree with this one. Although I get more mobility, I feel more frail using the current shield rework, like bullets just slip through the smallest gap to my feet or some shit even when I'm crouching quickly.

since the rework I've been attempting to main blitz and I must say ping is EXTREMELY important to be successful with them in the new update since the game favours the shooters client view to your own.

They basically can shoot and knife trough the shield when their hand gets glitched trough.
Same for BB shield. You get a headshot before the plexiglass is broken.

I was shot through my shield with Monty and the shield was full extended. Before this season I’ve never got shot through them so much
shields feel so broken rn, like you said keep getting shot through my shield also get knifed and sometimes when i melee them it doesnt work, ik if they knife you and you hit them they both cancel eachother out but when they dont hit bak it still is very buggy.
You can also melee through shields now too, I love how e-sports ready Siege is

I think the glitch is basically that if you click right mouse button it registers as you peeking already, so your hitbox is out and about.
I mean, as long as I've played Siege, this has been a bug. Even back before Operation Health. Shields have never really just worked with 100% reliability, which is crazy to think about given how long Ubisoft has had to work on the issue. I'm assuming it has something to do with netcode or something like that.

I’ve been experiencing issues like this specifically when playing Maestro, I’ll flick away from a player while my cam is closing but somehow they still shoot the core even though the cam is almost already closed and they were in the opposite direction of where the cam was watching.

Apparently shields do block bullets from hitting default cam on Chalet
Its even worse when your Montagne with your shield fully up and you can see the bullets bounce off your shield on the kill cam
I had the same glitch at 18:27 and it was so confusing, I thought I broke my keyboard or something. Good to know it wasn't just me
This isn't new, this has existed for multiple years, probably even since the launch of the game. The issue is that the game creates a separate object for each bullet to determine if the object hits you instead of just using a simple hit-scan. This makes it so that when the shield is moving towards the bullet, it can cause the bullet to just phase through the shield and hit you. It's incredibly frustrating and has been a majority of my deaths as a shield main.
It's definitely gotten worse over the past week
I heard a different reason: the problem is a server-client desync, where the enemy sees you looking sideways, but in you view you are looking straight at him, so he's shoot the "right way" and hits you, but from your view, the bullets phased through the shield.
@@nasfoda_gamerbrbigproducti5375 That has to do with latency and is tied to every users connection. Someone with a better connection is going to see your inputs faster than someone with a slower connection, hence desync. This is an in-engine problem with how certain aspects are designed. What your saying does happen, but another issue is the one I've stated, as I'll rewatch kill-cams where I'm sprinting straight at the person and they get a headshot as they shoot the glass with none of my head exposed.
@@nasfoda_gamerbrbigproducti5375 Both issues exist. However, there isn't necessarily a way to fix desync on their end (or maybe there is, I'm not adept with programming). The issue I stated, though, has several ways it can be fixed, but ubislop just refuses to do anything about it for little-to-no reason

I'm a monty main and I've been yelling about this to my 2 friends while they sit there and tell me "they probably shit your arm or you were showing your head some how" so i started clipping weird deaths and showing them and they don't even have words for it anymore lmao, it's just BS. the slowdown on shooting the shield is enough of a nerf, you don't also need the shield to stop working randomly.
also something that I've noticed is I get headshot after or during a melee like 99% of the time so I feel like like it has to do with the melee action breaking the shield or something.
This happened to me yesterday, where I was playing Monty, and the dude shot right through my sheild while I was facing him. Shield extended, he shot me right in the face. I even played it back cuz i knew I shouldnt have died, and I was right. He aimed at the little face hole, and shot it, and you could see the blood come out of the shield. I figured it must be some kinda glitch on my end, but maybe its just a bug.

I'm pretty sure that aiming at glass and shooting in the same spot is gonna make the glass very breakable.

The melee for the shield is still the old shield hitbox, the animation is changed by the hitbox still is the old one, is when you melee your head is exposed

There is a weird bug with shields right now. When you try to do an action while holding the shield (sprinting, going to melee, extend monty shield, etc), there is a single frame where the shield doesnt exist. Some montys have been hip firing a shot using this issue. Related to the shield rework I think.

This happened to me the other day, got headshot through my shield
Had it happen in a ranked game a couple weeks back as Monty, and my friends were blaming me saying I threw. Clipped it and sent it to them and everyone was saying that the Fenrir hip-fire headshot me through the fucking shield. If you play an Op for the specific reason of gathering intel, playing back, and to be able to not worry about being shot during that process... then it'd kinda be nice to not be shot threw a fuckin bulletproof shield.

I wonder if the shield hit box is a little smaller than the model being displayed. It always seems it was barely plausible for they bullet or melee to have barely missed the shiel but it happens so fast I can never say with certainty.

The same happend to me today when i was doing a challange for fun playing only Shield operators and my team was winning just needed to defuse the Defuser. i was Clash and i had a teammate played as Frost the frost player started defusing so i ran with Clash to protect the frost. Then Ace came and knifed me through my shield but the Frost managed to defuse just in time so we won in the end :D

Half the time if i run a shirld its monty extended or clash. Cant go blitz anymore il just get shot thru my shield. And when i go against a shield i purposely shoot the shield to slow them but get surprised when i kill them

Ubi should delete shields from the game, they always have had issues and whenever they fix a shield bug, another one emerges out of nowhere.
Ive been having a problem where i melee a shield or melee with one and it just doesn't register, and it happens way too often

I think the siege hitreg right now is at an all time horrible. People are being shot through shields, peekers advantage is way too high, and it feels like it’s a 50-50 if your bullets hit or not.
It definitely has to do with how client-sided the gunfire is right now. Siege needs a serious update on its hitreg.

yea i did like 10 games with almost only shield they just don't work even with monty in a game someone did one shot me 3 time with a c4 a front of me with the big shield there is big problem with shield right now edit: u just want to know on his vidéo's/stream i ear really clearly footsteps and when i play i don't even here them just non of them idk why if someone as solution i want to ear it

My theory is that they never updated the hitbox for the shield when running. The old animation had them carry it to the side slightly and it seems like the hitbox still matches that one. I’ve had people shoot my side when running and it doesn’t damage me, as though my shield was there.
