I dedicate this to my relative who severed in the 313th and was killed in action in the Meuse-Argonne offensive he fought proud til his last stand on November 5th, 1918. May be be remembered.

I actually love the 1906, it forces you to be more cautious, and it really got me to focus more on helping my team than killing the enemy which was a major improvement to my playstyle
The Selbstlader 1906 is actually a pretty good weapon. 3-shot kill on any range, decent reload time, high muzzle velocity, low recoil. You need to learn how to handle the 5 bullet capacity. Playing more defensivly at mid range and learn how to fast switch to your sidearm (preferably a revolver or the M1911). In CQC situations I switch to to the Autoloading 08 .25.

David Lippmann I actually use the taschenpistol14 because I only need it to finish someone I only got two shots off of. It's extreme fire rate and unmoving recoil make it a great "lazerbeam" pistol to take someone down quickly.

Nah, unless they make it a 2 shot kill at any range, it will never be used. 5 rounds is just not enough in this game, even when the cavalry weapon 2 shot people, you still could not really push with it.

Its actually a very good gun, a skill cannon some might say. One of my most used. Its all about positioning and strategy
After being forced to use this gun to get its sniper variant, I grew to prefer it to other medic guns. Sure, it doesn't have the ammo capacity, which is really bad. But it forces you to fight differently. A lot more firing from cover shots. It is also great if you run into one guy, and can put 5 bullets in him before he can put 2 in you.

I have to say though, I'm surprised by your harsh judgement. I love the Selbstlader 1906. For open maps, it's my favourite medic weapon. If you want a really useless gun, give the "Autoloading 8 factory" a go. At 100m you can't even hit what you're aiming at because it's so inaccurate and this is made even worse by the crappy muzzle velocity.

Tbh it's now my favourite medic rifle to use, if it's not a close range map where I use the fedorov avtomat optical.

I have been using the 1906 Recently, it is a beast once you get used to it. I play medic aggressively, but with the stebslader I had to play slightly more defensive. Honestly a great gun

I really enjoy using the selbstlader 1906 but it is a very skill heavy weapon, when used in the right hands and play style it is probably the most effective rifle for the medic class

Spoontoast The 1906 shoots far faster, giving it a much more generous TTK. The 1916 shoots almost at an almost sluggish pace in comparison, and the similar mondragon is a middle ground between the two Selbstladers.
After using the 1906 and mondragon I can barely even fathom going back to the 1916 because of how slow it shoots (and I used to love it.)

A lot of the revolvers are better than the Mk. 3, but I can see why. Two words:
Reload time. That's literally what it comes down to. I'd rather have the lower damage of the Mk. 3. At least I can reload fast. But that's just my opinion.

it is because they are the best in one on one engagements statistically speaking. the lack of rounds in their clips is there to not make them op as fuck, they are only usefull once you become good in the game.

If anything I'd argue the Autoloading 8.35 is worse than the 1906, because the damage over range is significantly worse. At least this gun gives you a consistant 3 shot kill, the 8.35 can take upto 4-5 shots at the longest range
DrakePlays 8.35 extended can get ridiculously op at close range with the current ammo and fire rate, and the variant didn't even exist until in the 1920's

You are an strickened Austro-Hungarian cavalry unit who's been parted with his steed, after taking as much as possible from the saddle pouches use your specialised equipment to get yourself back to friendly ground.
Skillcannon Medic
Primary: Autoloading 8.35 Marksman
Side-arm: Auto revolver
Gadget 1: Small medpack
Gadget 2: Syringe
Melee: Hatchet
Grenade: Impact grenade
This doesn't represent anything so I picked the guns that IMO are the best all around. The Autoloading 8.35 has the best DPS of any SLR so that is our pick. The Autoloading will still lose to the Automatico and shotguns at close range and the Auto revolver will beat the Automatico below 10m (if you hit 2 shots). Try to use the Autoloading when fighting on objectives and when the fighting moves to CQC use the Auto revolver. Impact nade can be used to finifh people or start a fight.
I hope you like this loadout, that is if you pick it at all. (Sorry for bad English. Not my first language)
Also, the C96 is a great backup sidearm when using the 1906. Having the 10 rounds is your pistol is a nice counterbalance for your primary.

Personally, I enjoy the 1906. It does require skill to play with and I like to play it as an aggressive medic. I think DICE should implement a marksman variety of it to play defensively and would really benefit the gun

This rifle is great for improving your accuracy and precision, its like a mondragon storm but with only 5 rounds so you're less likely to just spam bullets and actually make sure your rounds are going to hit your target

TipTopDalton1 I'm actually tired of this argument. Like "skill to use" is not a valid argument for a gun being bad. I'll assume you're a highly skilled player so I'll present this to you: if you played two games, one with the RSC and one with the Selbstlader 1906, you will do better with the better weapon. It can't be as effective close range as the M1907 Sweeper, or as effective long range as the Selbstlader 1916 Marksman. You may be able to do well with this gun but OBJECTIVELY it is not competitive.
Acorn473Walkthroughs I literally do the best with the 1906 in every situation. It's my most used weapon. 3 shot at every range, shoots WAY faster than the 1916 and RSC, barely any recoil. It's not that it takes skill to use, it's just the best medic gun lol. If it had 10 rounds people would praise it lmao

Acorn473Walkthroughs I don't find the mag size to be an issue since at least 1/3 of my targets aren't at full health, which means a 1-2 shot kill, then a guaranteed 3 shot kill. Plus if you empty the gun the reload is fast anyway. PLUS if you're proficient with your secondary, it doesn't really matter anyway. I always have the MLE 1903 equipped because it's basically a pocket 1906. No recoil and fast fire rate keeps my follow up shots quick and always on target. If you play to the strengths of both of those guns, you're unstoppable.
I really like how accurate it is as well as the rate of fire. I usually use the mondragon but I wanted something that shot faster while still doing as much damage. The 5 bullets does suck but that's the fun of it, the challenge.

Perhaps a good buff to smoke grenades would be a point system to 'un-spot' your team mates, so like if your medic is spotted with about 5 others, the smoke grenade would counter this by taking the spot off of them and then 25 points for each spotted player 'un-spotted'.
Trench Raider class. (use this before DLC): During World War 1 trench raiders would raid enemy trenches then clear the trench for alies to use for themselves. Most trench raiders would cary a shotgun and a high damage pistol, and nearly every trench raider would take a trench knife.

Chris Kyle aka the American Sniper was a US Navy SEAL sniper from 1999-2009 . Within these years he got 255 confirmed kills and that made him the deadliest sniper in US military history . Unfortunately he died in 2013 .
You must get 255 kills - assist don't count- and don't stop until you do it . Use the flare to spot enemies for you and your squad cause the flare spots enemies in a specific section , pistol for self defence etc. Do you accept the challenge?

I've been using the smoke a lot lately on Conquest/Operations to switch it up. I hope some update lets us get "Smoke Assist" points, since it's more of a defense than attack throwable. Great video as always Level.🤘

I think a good change for the 1906 would be to force the clip reload every time you reload, similar to how the m. 95 always uses the clip reload no matter the remaining rounds that you have. I still like using the weapon cause it gives me a really M1 Garand feel, but otherwise feel the Mondragon is a better overall pick.

yea I wish the "self loader" had at least 10 rounds, thats why my favorite gun is the Mondragon. anyways guys if you have a few minutes to spare check out my super medic 2 video, its pretty funny with some added effects, I get no kills and got first place. Nuka-Nilo I actually prefer to use the Cei Rigotti trench. It is pretty accurate with ADS and barely misses a shot with hip fire. Coupled with 10 rounds and full auto selection it can be pretty good in CQC if you fire first and can land the next two hits
I actually think that one way they could buff the gun that would make a really big impact on it's usefulness would be a reduction to the reload time. Simple as that.

i think the 5 round medic guns promote proper game play for the medic, hanging back and supporting your team and rezing in rushes with your revolver drawn

ln this loadout, you won't ever be using your primary and or secondary, because you will using your club as your primary. The club acts as your baseball bat, the airburst mortar being your pitching machine, the mini grenades being your baseballs, and the ammo box being your bucket of baseballs. I doubt this loadout is very affective, but I thought it would be funny.

The Selbstlader 1906 is the best thing that happened to me. Its accurate and actually teaches you to guide your shots (to a certain extend). The same thing applies for the Autoloading 8 .35. Whereas the other self-loading rifles with extended ammo capacity just pretty much tell you to adapt the "suppress-and-hopefully-hit-the-guy" kind of mindset.
And yes, the moment you put away your syringe, is the moment you lost the war.

for me, its my favorite gun in the game in terms of looks and sound and all that, but its still one of my least used guns. Also I don't think it really matters if it has a slightly different ammo count than the real life version, especially since the real life version had loads of experimental versions and one single version was never mass produced. They change ammo capacity with other guns, like the hellriegal (120 or 130 rounds to 60 in game), so I don't see what stops them from doing it with this

I have an idea for giving point when using smoke grenades. They could make it give points to the owner of the grenade when the smoke blocks a spot attempt or when a spotted teammate removes their spot by running into your smoke.

Just a thought about the smoke grenades. It could unspot your teammates, and give you a 25 "hide bonus" for unspotting your teammates if they walk through it.
I think my favorite attribute with the No.3 revolver is the ease of getting headshots while hip firing. I feel like Clint Eastwood destroying the enemy with an outdated gun.

I got hooked on this gun because of its sound, but then I got good especially the sniper variant.
