I didn't like Bush too much but dam I really feel for him, losing both his parents and seeing him nearly break out in tears at the funeral. God rest his father's soul and god give strength to Bush and his family.

I always felt that George Bush was the 'cut up' son, the one that didn't quite measure up, at least that was what he felt. And taking the presidency was really important to him so that he could prove to his dad that he could measure up. I really felt sorry for him here.

"Taking the presidency" was so well, extremely said- given what the Supreme Court (that was filled with people his dad literally hand-picked, mind you, and should have obviously recused themselves because of an insanely obvious conflict of interesting) did for him in literally *taking* the presidency away from Al Gore, who received more votes in both the popular and electoral count, and instead handing the election to George W. Bush, the loser on both counts.

I don't care what your beliefs are, or mine (which weren't always great towards the GW administration), this was a historically touching moment and hit home with anyone whose lost a parent or revered loved one. This was simply beautiful in its emotion, and bless the Bush family going forward.

I have lost so many of my people. All my grand parents. My Dad. My Mom. My Sister. Three of four inlaws. And my best friend. I wish I could have eulogized each as well as he did here. Salutes and respect to ALL former and current presidents. I may not always agree, but that job is one of the hardest there is.

I am not gonna say crocodile tears because that’s his father at the end of the day. While Bush is crying here and his emotions are justified, did he ever think how Saddam Hussein would have felt when his two sons Uday and Qusay predeceased him ? Did it ever cross his mind as to how painful a father and mother would feel to lose their children and also their grandson before them ? How would Raghad, Rana and Hala have felt to lose their brothers in such a ghastly manner ? Even assuming Uday and Qusay (I refuse to believe that they were monsters) had committed many atrocities, they should have been produced in a court of law and should have been dealt with legally by the Iraqi people and not by a foreign country. The US should understood that they put a family through extreme trauma.
