  • Many times when we talk about electrical installations, electronics or instrumentation, we use the concepts of resistance, inductive or capacitive reactance and impedance. So for example we talk about the grounding resistance, the input impedance of an instrument, the impedance of the ground loop, or for example the reactance of a luminaire. In this video we are going to see in a simple way what these concepts represent, as well as the differences between them.
The video shows these concepts graphically and with simulations, for this I have used various simulations available on the internet, of which I provide the links to give credit for them. Thanks to these simulations it is possible to understand much better aspects such as the circulation of the current through the electrons, the lags between voltages and currents in each of the passive components, the charge and discharge of a capacitor, the appearance of a magnetic field. in the coils and an electric field in the capacitors, etc. Likewise, the use of phasor diagrams instead of complex numbers makes the understanding of the vector sum of the voltages in these components very intuitive, facilitating the explanation of the concept of impedance.
