Honestly speaking, its not easy to survive as solo dance artist in kpop world. Taemin & Sunmi proved otherwise. A lot of idol can survive for being apart of group, but solo is a whole different story. Because you'll need a good balance between singing alone and dancing. Great job Taemin! Noona is sooooo proud of you :)

This song ALWAYS gets me. Sometimes is better to keep the doors to your reality/lifestyle/soul closed for some people. Opening your door means you are exposing yourself. This interpretative dance puts so much more emotion to the song, it actually makes you stop breathing. Taemin is a king, indeed. Walking art.
I'm glad someone has finally expressed their understanding of the song and that it actually fits mine. T is very retrospective in choosing /writing his lyrics and that's one of his major qualities for me. His dancing / voice is of lesser importance to me, maybe because I'm tired of MV being sexually explicit and his stage performances, as excellent as they may be, are on the verge of inappropriate.

So apart from the insanely beautiful artistry that is Taemin, this song always gets me too. I've actually used it as strength when feeling pressured by a sense of obligation and guilt that are not mine to bear. You can never close the door couldn't be more accurate no matter the situation.

I just celebrated my 61st Birthday and my ultimate wish (before I leave this world) is to see Taemin perform live. I would sell everything I own to get a seat front row center stage! If I ever had the chance to meet him...OMG.... I don't know if I would survive it! My heart would stop, I'd likely forget to breathe... The gift of spending 10 minutes with Taemin would be the best 10 minutes of my entire life! Sigh if I could only be 30 again and beautiful. I was gifted a trip to Japan ( I am from the States) included in the Trip were tickets for my friends and I to see Taemin's show live ( I am a huge SHINee fan) when I tell you that he SLAYED this song in person, it would be an understatement. It was so beautiful that more than a few people had tears in their eyes. This song is simply beautiful and there are no words to describe how incredibly talented this man is... he def is built to be on the stage...

It's like Taemin becomes one with the beat when the beat hits him. It's so beautiful and satisfying to watch. I haven't seen much dancers having such great sense of musicality. This just shows how intelligent he is in his field. He knows how when and how to make every single move. He is so sophisticated with his artistry. And I really really admire artists like him. On top of that. Taemin is such a beautiful human being with a beautiful personality that makes me fall in love with him.
I love how he isn't performing a title song here. Not everyone can do that in an award show, because it might not receive much reaction. But then again, SHINee, as a group and as soloists, always have great B-tracks.

I love this performance so much, I keep coming back to it every time...I feel like the dance and lyrics connect so well, i interpret it as taemin representing a person who's afraid of opening up to people close to him, literally not wanting any ''strings attached'' , because once he tells them every dark part of himself they can never go back to the way they used to be, because they might think differently of him. So he tells them not to open that door, and pushes everyone away, cutting them off but eventually is left alone, free to walk, but trapped in the prison of loneliness he unknowingly has build for himself
I can't find the correct words to express how Taemin's presence simply is ethereal. Even if you may not like his music/style, you CANNOT deny that this man's ability to own the stage is captivating! I grew up predominately listening to western music and witnessing some of the most legendary artists live such as MJ, Prince, JT, Beyoncé, U2, Rolling Stones, Celine Dion, etc. As an avid concert-goer, I thrive on finding artists that will be worth every penny of my investment. Its never just the baseline talent like singing, dancing, instrument playing, technical specs...its the presence, detailing, the message, and the emotion that I seek for. I've been to many shows for a wide range of Korean artists starting back during 1st generation era. I still avidly go if and when there's a chance. Of all the artist out there from then till now, I've been blessed to see some of the most legendary....yet I must confess that Taemin takes the THRONE as one of the greatest in the last 20 years. I can't explain why still, i just know that every time he's performing...it's a wild journey and I'm in for a THRILLING ride!

So DOOR is actually one of his majestic and spectacular performances that he did in his first solo concert in Budokan, Japan. So, for non Shawol I hope you prepared yourself to watch his DOOR performances.
Actually When I heard that he's going to perform DOOR I was questioning myself how on Earth that he gonna performed this stage because MAMA is publicly broadcast and maybe, perfectly topless is not allowed (in my opinion). Then he came and performed DOOR the way he performed it back in his first solo concert. Me, myself and my non Shawol friends were shooketh that actually Mnet allows this full great performance. Shoutout to Mnet for giving this king of dance a recognition to him to the non Shawols out there.

mzbettyboopz The song is originally entitled Door. This is actually his japanese song from his recent japanese album called Flame of Love. This is korean version of it. If you search for the song, they will be a tonnes of his live performance like this! He's been killing his Shawols since then.
