      This is why us consumers have to be really careful about believing online reviews.
      Why wouldn’t an online reviewer wax lyrical (however consciously) about a brand’s products if down the line they might get sent a bike?
      No one who said Decathlons cheaper bikes are crap are ever getting this bike in the post.

      My first road bike is RC520, no complaints. Great entry level bike. Now I have two bikes, Bianchi Oltre as my summer bike and Cannodale synapse as winter bike. If I am gonna spend north of $5000 dollar on a new bike, I will get luxury brand like cervelo/S works/Pinarello/Colnago, not a Decathlon. Maybe direct to consumer brands like Canyon aeroad or Ribble for their value. I don't think this bike is gonna be much better value than those.

      @@rob-c. The skepticism is totally understandable, but I feel it unfair to paint Cade Media in such light. They've been forthright with thier dealings with Decathlon and also I'll have you know that it was Cade media sought out Decathlon and not the other way around. They searched for a decent entry level road bike and Decathlon fit the bill

      @@KevwePatani I’m sure Cade don’t need you defending them anyway, but if you read my comment I didn’t paint them with any brush, rather made a general comment about online reviews.
      The fact that you think they need defending says a lot to me though.

    Love Decathlon! I own an RC500, originally with Sora, but now upgraded to 105 R7000. Sora is awesome for entry level and absolutely loved it. I don’t think right now there’s a better offer from other brands in terms of entry level. Your channel is doing what I think no other YT channel is doing, which is promoting entry level bikes such as Decathlon’s.

    Questions for Decathlon:
    1. PF BB?
    2. Customisable crank lengths, bat width, etc
    3. What additional training are their staff getting for such a high end product?
    PS hope you're well

      I ordered a Van Rysel RCR Force and needed to return it because it was too large. The staff was super nice, but had only little expertise with bikes like this. They even asked me (when I brought it back to the store) how to shift/use the front derailleur, and they were unable to order any spare parts like a derailleur hanger. Perhaps it's just too early and there are early adopter issues / open questions, but the bike itself was awesome. Because my size could not be pre-ordered, I got a pre-fitted discounted Specialized Tarmac SL8 for way more money but a bit more peace of mind.

      I used to work in a Decathlon shop that opened in Belgium right as the pandemic hit. Originally as a salesperson in the bike department, but they noticed I had pertty good hands for wrenching and fixing bikes. Worked there for a year or so. My experience might not have been that of all stores, since it was newly opened here it is: Are staff getting additional training? Yes and no. In theory you could always ring up a 'product specialist' if you have a specific problem and in theory there were loads of trainings for the staff, but in practice I never had a lot of them. Most bikes brought in for repair or servicing were older style (mechanical and rim brake) so I never got around to working and learning to put on a new discbrake set etc. since the ones in the store come in a premade package and almost never came back for a full rebuild.
      I ride the previous model high end bike from Decathlon (VanRysel RCR920 i think?). Loved it but half a year back I noticed a crack in the seatstay and brought it to the shop. I noticed none of the repairshop people I worked with were still there which kind of indicates a lot of inflow and outflow of people working the job so not a lot of consistent deep knowledge on the workfloor. The person handling the cracked frame wasn't sure how to handle the problem so it took a bit of back and forth to resolve the issue.
      Did I trust the mechanics (and myself) I worked alongside to fix and handle your high end bike the right way? Totally.
      But there also were people put in the repairshop for tasks they sure as hell weren't qualified for.
      So my conclusion as having exwperience in the shop would be to take your high end lovely bike to a bikeshop and mechanic you trust. In the Decathlon repairshop you never quite know if you get the super knowledgeable retiree still wrenching some hours in the week or the new guy that saw someone change a wheel on GCN once.

    As someone who just restarted biking last year (4070km) decathlon is amazing. I needed so much stuff and a new bike. Without their offers I would have had a lot more troubling paying for all of this at the same time. This year I'll go hiking and I'll also use the decathlon bikepacking stuff and tent. So far everything I do outdoor is covered by them. Especially useful if you're not sure if you want to invest in more expensive stuff because you might not enjoy something long-term.
    I need a proper roadbike and their tiagra carbon bikes look very interesting.

    Hi Cade! Great to see this bike in action! I'm a huge Decathlon fan that I almost have decathlon everything but the bike -- mostly because I got my bike before I discovered the merits of Decathlon... This is the only bike that got me interested after so many years. It's just I am so tired of all those marketing bullshitting company's lies, you name it, like Trek and Specialized especially. As per their say every year their bike just got faster for 5%, then why the hell 10 years later we are not all cruising at 20mph for less than 200 watts??? And those Italian stuff, being expensive, just for the sake of being expensive... It's not that their stuff is not good, it's just that I don't like their altitude and hate to be bullied by such "marketing" approach. Decathlon is at least, honest and humble, even with their now pro tour super bike (at least for now). All in all, I do have two questions that I hope you can relay to Decathlon: 1. Will the cockpit (handlebar and integrated stem) be the same for the retail version??? especially the non-pro version??? I heard that the non-pro version will be a normal one, I don't think that's the right move, the price difference is relatively small that doesn't justify the "downgrade" to round tube. Fans won't fuss too much about the extra stiffness or the 40g or so weight difference, but would mostly appreciate the same "whole package pro experience", and that front end might be much more important psychologically than you guys might expect. (scientifically I know it doesn't matter that much, but consider anyone who would like to spend this much on a bike, they are for the VIBE -- they have come this far, they would love to have it right, especially the look, otherwise why not just go for the RC520?). 2. This bike is expensive, and local shop said there won't be any stock in house, this model would be sold mostly through online channel (I'm in China, maybe in France you'll have that privilege). That means ironically for this super bike, it lost the biggest strength of Decathlon -- the store in the real world. That means for this bike we won't be able to actually see it before buy it, not to say a "test ride". Again BTW this is another ridiculous thing in the bike world, if you pay $10000 for a car, you'll definitely be more than welcomes to have a test drive for any of the model, but for a bike, nah... Back to this bike. Before this super bike, one of the best part of Decathlon is they are the few bike shops that you can actually do a test ride before you buy anything, even if it's just inside of their store for a quick spin. This is important because FIT is the most important thing for any experienced rider, and the geometry is so different and so subtle that it is beyond tables and numbers. A quickest spin would reveal some geometry problem in seconds while numbers won't. I know this is a super bike, but I like it to keep "Decathlon", if to stock the real thing in the store is too much a cost, we understand it, but would it be suitable to provide some aluminium replicas so that people can actually test and feel the geometry and the size???? Or it could be something like a simplified Retul system that you can just setup to different geometries so that people can at least try the geometry... We know it will be tricky to return a super bike only after you found out it's not the correct size when that bike arrives home... For whatever reason this becomes a long rant, if you ever read this, pls relay these two points to Decathlon. I'm a huge fan and really want to see them doing great. Thanks! Your stuff is great, keep at it!

    I owned several Decathlon bikes and always liked the price:performance. Just want them to make a budget respecting bike with hydraulic discs and endurance geometry. That’s the bike almost all average joes want and need and for some reason whenever they have made something that looked like it might be it they made so few that it was forever out of stock in an instant. Something that’s just dependable with maybe the 10 speed hydraulic tiagra group set or 105 in the £1000-£2000 bracket.

      I refused to ride Decathlon bikes since then. I kinda like how they boosted frame warranty to lifetime now, it gives me confidece that they made them stronger.

    Interested to hear how you get on with the saddle. I also have one and have found it to be very comfortable for riding in a standard position, and have done day rides up to 220miles on it. However I don’t think it really suits getting low on the bike. If I ride in a low aero position or on TT extensions for any solid length of time I do find problems with perineum pressure that I don’t get with my normal SLR Boost saddles. Basically I don’t think the pressure relief channel extends far enough forward to suit an agressive position. As pointed out in your video the very nose of the saddle is quite hard and I do feel the pressure from it when getting low, as a result I do tend to set it more nose down than other saddle I ride.

    Decathlon allowed me to return to cycling four years ago(with help from the Bike to Work Scheme) when i bought the mighty Triban RC500. I loved that bike so much that i was a bit let down at first by the Canyon Endurace AL7 rb i upgraded to a year and a half ago. It was inly when i changed the tyres out from the stock 25mm to 28mm Conti GP5000s, that i got that same cruising feeling i got from the RC500.
    Really regret trading it in 😥

      @xuchenglin6256 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LOL... You should spend that on a better wheel, change to the same AL but more expensive marketing bike is a waste of money unfortunately... BTW tyre makes most of the difference between bikes, especially if you look at the stock ones. Just check the official specs on the websites. Tyre only cost tiny, but from $$$ to $$$$ to $$$$$, tyre went from 60 TPI to 120 TPI to 300 TPI. Actually that's the most of the "wow super bike feels imediately faster" feeling comes from. Ironically a $$$ bike but with super tyre, would still be in the $$$ price range, but a lot faster bike, but why the brands just won't do such reasonable thing, why???? This is the biggest secret of the bike industry IMO.

    The bike looks sick! I am surprised that for a 5' 10" rider, the frame size needs to be XS and required the seat mount to be put into its shorter reach position with an already short reach and drop handlebars. I wonder what the average rider height would be for their bigger frame sizes.

    I now have four Fizik saddles on my bikes, after an 18 month flirtation with Selle Italia that resulted in a wear pattern from stitching raising a couple of nappy patches on my bib shorts. At 200 quid a pair for Assos bib shorts, I'm not keen to see them wear thin in six months' time, so I've gone back to Fizik because they have always worked for me, and their TT saddle takes a bracket that discretely and securely lets you hold two CO2 canisters screwed into the bracket and out of the wind.

      Same, I was expecting a medium or large at 5.10, what does an XL fit?

    • @irfuel
      @irfuel 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@producersRus 5.10 on a race bike is either S or M (framesize 52 or 54) I would say. Then again, "XS", "S" ... doesn't say anything. You need to know frame size and effective top tube length. I'm 5.9 and fit both a 52 and 54, but it depends on the top tube. Might need a shorter stem on the M. A smaller frame in height is easier to solve (put saddle higher) than a frame that's too long (having to mess around with stems, and worst case having a really short one that changes the handling of the bike).
