"Why would you leave the door open when there's demons" Yeah, like that would stop the demons, we all saw Genya's backstory not that long ago. Also, it was really hot so leaving the door open was the best they could do.
The mist pillar did lost his memory from the trauma. Since he able remember his past, it allows him to recover and grow
In Japanese language, "Yuu" and "Mu" are opposite meaning. "Yuu" means "have", and "Mu" means "not have". That's why Yuu-ichiro called Mu-ichiro as no-meaning. But finally Yuu-ichiro said called Mu-ichiro as infinity which means limit "less".
The fact that muichiro has really goes off with this episode hope i see the most dope in the nxt ep.

7:25 well, depending on how you look at it Muichiro did have someone through his teen years, because he’s still a teen. He’s 14 during the swordsmith village arc.
Muichiro is a legend. He will forever be one of my favorite DS characters
his master did tell us audience that he lost his memories in a last few episode
In general, daemon is unknown to society, and Muichiro also lived without knowing the existence of daemon. They just left the door open to avoid the heat in the summer as usual.

How is it even season 4? Season 1 had 24 epsiodes. After that Mugan Train + District entertainment is season 2. Then sword-smith village arc is season 3
So confusing I know 😂 and Mugen Train Arc is consider a mini series not even a season I believe 😂

Being the oldest sibling has absolutely made several kny backstories hit waaaay harder.
The production team for this episode was the same as the production team on season 2 episode 10 & 11 (probably the greatest episodes of DS) so when I saw they were doing this episode I was so ready for Ufotable to pop off

Watching your intro and thinking oh boy you really are for a ride with Muichiro´s backstory this episode.
Muichiro (無一郎) ‘s “mu(無)“ kanji means basically nothing or nil.
“inefficiency(munou) “ writes 無能 in kanji (能 means basically ability)
“ meaningless (muimi )” writes 無意味 in kanji (意味 means meaning)
“Infinity (mugen) “ writes 無限 in kanji and 限 basically means have a limit or as much as possible
All these 3 words made up with 無 ( MU in Muichiro) but it mean differently depends on the kanji or the word after 無.
I’m still learning English so sorry if my English was not correct. But I hope you can enjoy Demon slayer more with this a bit of knowledge.

The 'mu' in Muichiro (無一郎) means 'nothing' or 'not' (無) and it is used to make negative. So it can be the 'mu' in incompetence (munou - 無能) it can be the 'mu' in meaningless (muimi - 無意味) but it is also the 'mu' in limitless (mugen - 無限)

Yushiro could have been saved easily cuz the only reason he died is because of blood lost which from couple of wounds and a half arm and you can just tight/put pressure on his arm and would at least live long enough to go to a doctor but their a little too young to and too scared to think

And sadly leaving the door open or not won't change a thing, we all know normal demons have super human strength which can breakdown a door easily and since the demon knows their wood cutters he already had an idea of attacking them
i completely agree on you with people just hating on what's trendy. Demon slayer hate got real bad recently, and i don't want to generalize but from what i've seen it's mostly One Piece fans lol. I think the infamous recent OP episode was phenomenally done, i just don't see the reason to subscribe to one singular show and talk down on any other show that doesn't meet that golden standard you set for yourself. The title of this episode is a words play. It may be difficult to translate into english and being understandable in subtitles. The real meaning of “Mu” is “nothing” (無）
At 7:51, Yuichiro said “Mu” in Muichiro is nothing useful (“無”能）
”Mu” in Muichiro is nothing important（”無”意義）.
I think translated into “useless” and “meaningless” is understandable to english reader.
And also the real thoughts for Yuichiro, said “Mu” in Muichiro is no limit (“無”限）,mugen in Japanese, infinity in English. Just like Mugen train also been called Infinty train, Mugen castle that been translated into Infinity castle.

I'm not sure how much of demons existing is common knowledge, and how many people doubt it/believe it. Also, I doubt a closed wooden door is an obstacle for a demon, who can slash a kid's arm with one swipe. In a safe small village, people leave doors/windows open on warm nights.

A bit of info on Muichiro's name: In this case, the kanji for 'mu' is 無, which basically means 'there is not' or 'absent'. It's often prefixed to another word or kanji; its effect is much the same as adding '-less' to the end of a noun in English. When Yuichiro is still being cold to his brother, he claims that the 'mu' in his name stands for 'muno' (無能), meaning 'talentless' or 'incapable'. He also uses 'muimi' (無意味), or 'meaningless'. However, as Yuichiro is dying, he confesses that Muichiro's name stands for 'mugen' (無限). This means 'limitless', or 'infinite'.
As for the boys leaving the door open that fateful night, it was probably dreadfully hot, and opening doors and windows was the only way they could sleep comfortably. No air conditioning back then, after all. And although the boys had heard about demons, they probably didn't know much about them, if they even believed in demons. As other commenters have noted, closing the door likely wouldn't have made a difference anyway.
