Reuniting with the Paris vlogs and the final one is finally here! As you’ve highly requested, here’s a video in which I talk more about money, budgetting and how much I actually spend on an exact day whilst travelling. Keep in mind we’re two people sharing the cost of our accommodation which definitely knocked down the price!
A trip to Paris can be done both way cheaper and more expensive than this. I don’t always spend this much when I travel, by far! It’s just an example from this trip.

I’m American so I went ahead and converted everything to USD so that other Americans can get a better idea of what Katharina’s spending looks like. Another person mentioned that the conversion rate is pretty close, but here’s a section by section breakdown:
Prepaid Expenses
Hotel: $361.72 for 3 nights, or ~$120.58 per night
Flight: $231.07 (~$77.03 per night)
Total for one day: ~$197.61 (this number ends up looking slightly different if you directly convert the total euros to USD since I had to round a few numbers)
Morning Activities and Breakfast
$0 thanks to the location being good for running and the hotel offering free breakfast, but a croissant from a local bakery at a price point of 1.5 euros would be about $1.62.
Museum, Drinks, and Strolls
One way ticket: $2.27
Museum exhibition: free
Iced latte: $5.94
Iced matcha: $6.48
Views: free
Total so far: when converted directly from the 191.1 euros, it comes out to $206.34. When you add my numbers together (including the prepaid expenses for one day, the ticket, and the iced matcha), the total is just a few cents off at $206.36.

I live in San Diego (USA) so I looked up the conversion from Euros to Dollars.
1.00 Euro is 1.08 Dollars so I can "basically " for broad strokes say they are equal. Makes it easy for me to relate.

As I watched this I wondered do you have any money saved in case you can’t work? Or for retirement? Or anything? I know you are young and don’t have many responsibilities (great time to travel) so I was just curious… I don’t mean to sound critical, I don’t think I did at your age… just curious
I work every, single day (more or less) whenever I don’t travel. I elaborated more on this topic in a previous video I posted a while ago on my channel « how I afford to travel ». I’d recommend you go and watch it ! :)
