Love that body and livery. Now you have another awesome story to go with it. It would be nice to see at least one rip around before it’s on display. I’m overall with you that another engine to maintain seems like more work than maintaining batteries.
Nitro cars are easy once you learn how to tune and the only way to learn to tune is to run your car and practice. Eventually the tuning is something you barely have to think about whilst running. Also with modern receiver battery packs, carb return springs and 2.4ghz radios run aways and glitching are very rare. Keeping the clutches running properly is the most important thing with Nitros in my experience.
You crack me up Keith, love the sound effects! 😁 Gutted for you about the postage situation but at least you finally have the beast, what a beauty!!! As you said Nitro can be a pain in the ....! My son bought me a Hong Nor for my Birthday over a year ago and still its not been run properly yet, takes sometime to set them up!!!
I think we know that car will be run. Haha. Nice. A dodgy undertray and runner tires may make you feel a bit better about it. Just don't scratch that body haha
Love the RS Focus, one of the greatest rally and road cars. I used to have nitro Savage trucks 20 years ago now, spent more time trying to get them running and keep them running!
Don't use a lipo you'll cook the servos. 6v nimh or upgrade the servos to 8.4v. Don't ask me how I know 🤣 Remember there's no esc to drop the voltage to the servo.
That's a cool cool cool car, Keith. I'm a Ford guy and i love this livery on the focus. Nitro scares me too. I know how problematic they can be. I have a Kyosho sitting here for almost 25 years and never started it. Japans policy about shipping grease, oil and fuel is ridiculous. It's even worse when it comes to a frikkin motor and fuelcell.... What are they thinking? Anyway. Glad you got it in the end. It's a great addition for your collection. And don't worry. i bet many of us love the unboxings. 😉 It's like watching kids opening up their Christmas presents while you don't know either what is in it... LOL
Buyee refused to ship my Kyosho Skyline with nitro engine. They didn’t even give the option to remove the engine and ship car to me because removing 4 screws was to difficult. Luckily I found a seller that I shipped the car to. I paid him to remove , keep engine and ship the car to me😅
So cool! I have never had a nitro car but watching all the 1/8th scale championships as of late makes me want to invest in one! What a road to get to you! haha
Wow, another incredible buy. Never knew a Nitro XB existed (but XB are very popular in Japan, so there must be a lot of gems there). And what a pain for the shipping 😮😢 Thanks for sharing 😊
Nice buy but what a pain with the shipping. Buyee are holding 2 sets of TRF Dampers that they won’t ship even though they have shipped other and also countless cars with dampers fitted😢
Yep deep as space - you mentioned Kyosho and their vintage Nitro's - deep pockets and nice long arms to reach the cash lol. The 1/10 on-road 2 speed era, around 1996 to about 2006 is an expensive yet awesome time line
Awesome love it I love nitro rcs and I have 4 of theses body’s 1 just like your one and other one is blue and other 2 are unpainted with decal kits and I have some other rare ford body’s and rally body’s. You just got to love them. Nice score though
I'm not sure there is a climate where a nitro engine isn't a pain in the ass from time to time. I've never had a nitro RC tbh, though I think the climate here in Aus is ok for them. Think Phoenix Arizona, but next to the ocean. Nice score.
It is beautiful car and it is cool being a nitro. Sucks that it took so much to get it to you but it has a cool (and expensive) story to go along with it! When you get it on display you need to include a small stack of fake money sitting beside it as a conversation starter LOL!! I got away from the nitro kits as they are too fiddly and always need adjusting every time you run it. I also got sick of the oily mess from them! The are cool to watch but I will stick with the ease of electrics!
Hi Keith, you might notice my name and channel has changed because I got terminated a month ago due to 'community guidelines' and tried several times to get it reinstated but no luck there unfortunately😢 I'm like you when it comes to nitro and im a master technician for my job but getting them to run consistently is impossible with varied climate. I only have one now in my collection and it is my NIB terra crusher, its never been started and is stock apart from a pull start. The airline thing makes me laugh, I had a similar incident recently when I had some regular spanners taken off me at security as they weren't allowed in my hand luggage. How they assume you are going to take the plane apart mid flight with regular spanners I just don't know yet my leatherman with pliers and screwdriver blades is fine!👍🏼
It's a cool car. But for me no nitro. I got into rc cars when I was about 9. We're talking 1977.... My oldest brother had a nitro F1 Stockcar that they race in the UK. More wrenching than running....so I made my mind up real early that nitro wasn't for me. 👍👍
I would love to see that car running!!!
Thanks Dennis. We might try to get it going.

Oh yeah very nice indeed 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks buddy

Great info. I was going to put a bec in although it doesn’t really need to be lipo. Lol
I didn’t know Tamiya made any nitro cars. I’ve only ever seen a couple nitro trucks. Cool find but wow on the shipping
They did a few nitro onroad and 1 buggy outside the TRF 800 series rigs. Very limited for them.
Definitely a cool rig Keith! Definitely looks like a good part of it is TT01 parts!
It does resemble it a lot.
That's a cool cool cool car, Keith. I'm a Ford guy and i love this livery on the focus.

Japan policy, kids running the country.
Love the unboxing videos Keith and you saved me the grief - almost bought a TR15T on buyee!
Yes,
Be careful with nitro in Japan. Huge pain
Sa weet little ripper man!
Tiny little nitro... Too cool!
Thanks
That is awesome Keith!
Thanks
I love nitro's. Love the body. I've had several. Never a Tamiya. Just have extra glow plugs. Life saver.
That’s what I hear.
Glow plugs and a couple glow plug heaters on hand.

Really!
Blackship worked in the end although it was an expensive learning curve.
Making the brap brap noises was the next best thing to running it, thanks for the entertainment! 😄
lol,
I couldn’t help kyself

Losi 8th scale nitro buggy is on sale at amain 299 down from 460. 😉

Opinion. 10th seems boring when the 8th race is over lol

Thanks.
It was the XB nitro I have seen.
Beautiful car! Good information on buying nitro from out of country. I have a few nitro that are now shelf queens.
Nice!
Easier to maintain shelfers lol
Great kit! I have this on a TT01. I love it. It's a great looking car! You should run it!
Thanks George
Cool looking car I’m from the north east a nitro could be a problem in my area they are fun drive though drives my neighbors crazy lol
Mine barely tolerate my equipment. Can’t imagine a high pitch motor. Lol
So glad it finally arrived 😂. Awesome car.
Thanks Jason
Congratz to your first nitro, it´s a real beauty.
Thank you
Keep doing the unboxing videos, they're great.
Thanks

What a pain. Crazy part is, they know our history and it means nothing.
Awesome nitro the RS is 😍😍
Thanks
Nitro for me is why I RC, vintage nitro 2 speeds, they are awesome!
Yah,
A rabbit hole I see myself going down in the future. Lol

Not sure mine would either.

I dry even temp climate is best as once it is tuned, it just runs.
I primarily race nitro, it’s easy. But I have been dealing with nitro engines for around 40 years, so I have some experience.
A lot of experience. Lol
I am going to start playing with them. Something about the sound and smell just makes it sooo good.
@@rcicons4915 Pick up a Traxxas nitro something, that will help with learning. They make it to where you can’t get them crazy out of wack.
To much fun.
I got the Mad bison but waiting on weather to try to run it.
Nice!
I have looked at a few as well as the nitro crusher. Maybe someday.
Happy Chinese New Year , From this Aussie in China!
Thanks buddy
Awesome find now that you have stepped into the rabbit hole you should check out the Tamiya tr15t love the channel 👍
I will add a 15t in the future for sure. Love that truck

That would be a sight. Probably wouldn’t even get a door half off in 8 hours.
Congrats on your first nitro, waiting to see more added now lol. Cool car👍🏻
Good thing it says Propecia on the side...That shipping kerfuffle could make you lose your hair.
I am loosing my hair. Lol
Careful Keith nitro is highly addictive buddy😄
lol
It is all addictive!
It’s amazing
Thanks
I too am not a fan of nitro, friends had em back in the day they never ran right still a tidy buy for the shelf
Thanks Chris

If you decide to get it running it will be nice to see it do a lap or two of the rc icons track

😎👍
Don't go down the nitro hole, 😢
Lol
I'm in the same boat. I sent you an email, hopefully if you have time please check it out. Right now have the buggy at Blackship warehouse.
Why nitro? Hope to hear from you soon.
rare, noise, smell, power
@@lrmbvv doesn't interest me don't like the noise. 1/1 yeah love cars in general.
Hate to say it but the tamiya nitros are terrible I pulled the motor an swapped it for a os 15
