There's a TH-camr name Official Jaguar Gator 9 who did a video on Pat Summerall and John Madden broadcasting a Division 3 college football game during the strike in 1982.
Thing is as time passes it won’t matter. All past champions during shortened seasons are only remembered for one thing. Winning the championship that year. The 1987 Redskins, 1999 Spurs, 2012 Heat, 1981 Dodgers, ect. are examples.
@@FootballLoreOfficial "they got nothing from this one" Have you watched your own video? Also you: "It actually set the stage for the 1987 strike just five years later." LOL
Wait a minute, when I read the teams, I had to check cause I remembered it way differently. The Bills went to the playoffs the two seasons prior, but only 3 times of the last 15 seasons before 1982. They were bad before. The Broncos went to the playoffs from 77-79 but those are their only playoff appearances. Awful before, and without the strike would not have Elway. The Niners won a SB in 1981 but have not been in the playoffs the 8 seasons before. They won 3 more SBs in the next 7 seasons. The strike certainly did not destroy their franchise. The Rams have been in the playoffs in the late 70s and 80s regularly and they have made the playoffs in 6 of the next 7 seasons after the strike. Not much of an effect either. You were right about the Eagles, they missed the playoffs for 5 consecutive seasons after the strike, after making 4 straight before.
When the Washington (name redacted) regular players came back for a home game against the New York Jets in 1987 they started off slow and the fans, who had come to love the replacement players and their grit and determination, started chanting, "WE WANT THE SCABS!" The replacement players were working-class guys not unlike them who took the opportunity they were given because they knew it would never happen again. Working-class people may love football but they don't like it when millionaire NFL players go on strike acting like they are coal miners trying to get something above starvation wages.
we messed up, the 49ers had just won the Super Bowl not the Raiders. 00:05 Sorry!

Your comment, "they got nothing from this one." One way or the other you seem to be lying.
I think the 1982 strike destroyed the bills, broncos, eagles, 49ers and rams, because these teams often made the playoffs during this era.
I believe so too, good insight.
