Johnny thank you so much. I left the GTA before Doors Open Toronto so I never got to see Bay Lower. I would have gone for sure!!! Enjoy it when you do go down there. It's great to see the enthusiasm of the people. Bay Lower has always interested people and I remember hearing about it. Too bad the TTC didn't put an old "Red Rocket" subway train in the station instead of the new ones. That would have been incredible!! Would have stunned people to see how dark those old trains were inside, very low lighting, the cigarette ashtrays in the armrests not to mention the fake red vinyl seating, green flooring and windows that opened!!! Very noisy!!! Once again, thanks for the tour (museum's were super too! Been a long time since I've been to the ROM and only once to Bata after moving more northerly.)

Sadly theres only one pair of the red G series cars left, and those are over at the Halton County Radial Railway museum

I also was there at Lower Bay Station this past Saturday: I was there sitting on the driver's seat of the train. Loved it.

Thank you Johnny for the brief tours of the Bata Shoe Museum and the ROM, very cool exhibits - I enjoyed visiting the ROM last time, though have not been to the shoe museum - will need to check it out one day. Also nice to see some friendly viewers in Lower Bay Station too :) Have a great day!

I find the atrium at the Royal Ontario Museum is one of Toronto's most beautiful spaces - thank you for highlighting it.

Nice tour! I missed lower bay subway station this year. I went to Toronto city Hall and other doors open spots nearby. A fun weekend.

Tomas Bata was Czech and his company was for decades the largest shoe manufacturer in the world. From the 70's until around 2000 its headquarters was in Toronto though it did end up in Switzerland like you said. One of their factories was near Belleville where I live.

Many many moons ago I used to deadhead subway trains through Lower Bay. As I'm sure you know, it's the only way to transfer trains between the YUS & BD lines (Lines 1 & 2) So any trains going between Greenwood Subway Yard and Wilson or Davisville Yards have to pass through Lower Bay.

I wondered about that, many times - good to have it confirmed! Been years of course.

Yup, that’s what the T1 trains did in the mid-2010s when they went from Line 1 to Line 2 with the arrival of the TR trains.

Sounds Like They Changed the door Chime on the Line 2 Trains to match the Line 1 Trains 🚊🔔

Johnny.... A shoe is not a shoe unless it's a Bata Shoe.... A Bata Shoe is held together with super duper glue... A Bata Shoe was first invented not by an ordinary person, but a Mr. Bat-Ta-Da!.... A shoe is a marvelous invention, second only to the Earl of Sandwich... And followed by the Dude who invented the scrumptious food for all growing boys: the Peanut Butter and Jam sandwich... So when out and about be sure to wear comfortable Bata Shoes and be sure to pack a snack... A Peanut Butter and Jam sandwich.... the end... Always in Good Taste.... Subscribe and Be Amazed...

You should do a video on the new Ontario line and where all the new stations are going to be at.

I don't really get what the draw of Lower Bay station is. It looks exactly the same as the Upper Bay station, and usually has just as many people.

I guess Lower Bay isn't all that different from Bay.
