My old neighbourhood. So many memories, although so much has changed. You need to make a stop at Grossman's Tavern, a block further down on Spadina at some point soon. The grey house across Spadina at 3:53 above was home to the late Bill Banting, son of Sir Frederick Banting in the '70s. Some friends of mine were his housemates.
Good day/evening, Beautiful Johnny Strides & thank you very much for providing a continuing tour during the Open Doors or Doors Open event! Enjoyed the tour of the church & the Daniels building with their impressive architectural structures! That was quite a fantastic lineup of the legendary musicians whom have played at the El Mocambo! Those were the days,..long gone now! Thanks again & hope you had a good rest after the walk! Cheers & keep yourself safe!! 💖💖🦅🦅🦅🦅
Bless Tuesday morning from Montreal QC .. as always beautiful sharing an adventure walk away tour and you nailed it again Jhonny .. million thanks my friend ..
Went to the El Mo in 1988 just by chance. Some unknown local band was playing, then they started a conga line. The Barenaked Ladies. 2001. Was at Mandalay Bay in Vegas to see a concert. The Barenaked Ladies. And again back in June 1988, I was at the Horseshoe Tavern. Friday around 6pm. Some band was playing at the back I never heard of. $5 cover which I did not want to pay. it was The Tragically Hip. ah well...
I was out biking on Sunday and bumped into those honking car guys a couple of times. Once in danforth and another on Dupont. I don’t recognize the flag but I assume somebody’s team won a football (soccer) match. Does anyone know which?
I went down to the Palm Grove I was jumpin' around the room I was wearing my sneakers down And castin' away my gloom - Down By The Henry Moore, Murray McLaughlin
Thanks!
Thanks Dennis!!!

A very interesting walk, this time taking a look inside rather than only passing by. Good job Johnny!
Really enjoyed that thanx Johnny!
thank you for that one. I no longer live in Toronto and never got the chance to see a show there. You have given me a chance to see the Great Mocambo.
This was a great video. That Church was beautiful. Interesting to see inside the Daniels building. Also enjoyed seeing El Mocambo.
Wow. The El Mocambo! I could almost 'feel' the spirits of some of the performers as you made your way through there Johnny.TY
Hi, Johnny. Thank you for yet another good walking video. Nice to see the El Mocambo again. See you in the next one. Yoink!
We did our first live event at the El Mocambo two years ago. Great venue.

Thank you for interesting tour 😊
good morning everyone
Good morning
Wow, grew up in Toronto 1960-2000 and I remember the El Mo as more of a hangout dive bar when I went to UofT. Looks like a museum now.
When are we getting more bike rides?
I made sure to go there when I was in Toronto
When I was a student in Toronto, I used to buy pizza slices at Cora Pizza. I remember Papa Ceo as well, but Cora was always my favourite.
Morning from Taiwan
Oh wow, sorry you had to deal with all those loud horn noises. Must have been pretty irritating. Hopefully you were still able to have a good time. 😊

Marilyn Monroe's performance consisted of her singing her hit song "Happy Birthday" 😄
