In this TECH TALK JS and Parko discuss the backstory of the Golden Child and how it originated. Whenever conditions suited back in '09, the Golden Child came out, the result was always the same. Joel never lost a heat. It eventually went straight up on the wall at our Kirra factory as a trophy representing the pinnacle of fast, intuitive and powerful surfing.
Child is based on the original file from 2009, but with cutting edge influence from 2024 on the deck roll and rails. It’s ridden approximately 1-2 inches longer than your regular everyday shortboard, and either the same width or 1/8” narrower.

Sick board but wtf Parko still rips so hard it’s inspiring to see how well he still surfs a shortboard. He’s been one of the best surfers on rail for 25+ years and going.

What is Joe’s board dimensions?
Joel is 6’0” (183 cm) / 85 kg (187 lbs), and rides the Golden Child at 6'2” x 19 1/4” x 2 5/8” x 32.4L, stock EasyRider dimensions. More team rider references are on the product page (link above).

7 1/2 minutes without actually saying anything about the details of the board (rails, rocker concave etc). Another board for good waves only

Not much tech talk aside from saying it’s a good board. No plan shape, rockers, bottom contours, standard dims……nothing
