Quick question for you. Is there any drawback to playing a game from an HDD instead of our built-in SSD's? It looks like you put Skyrim into your Gaming drive which appears to be HDD.
Hey man, is it alright if I ask a question? I managed to successfully install Viva New Vegas using MO2. And it worked great, for a time. I accidentally launched the game from Steam instead of MO2 and then everything broke. Any idea how to fix?

Another install, another day following GamerPoets videos. There really is no other channel on TH-cam that guides one through the process like this channel does, and in such a faultless manner. This channel is criminally underappreciated. It deserves ten times the views it has. Please keep it up!

This guys refreshing. He doesnt waffle loads of BS like many users making guides, he just gets on and tells you what you need to know. This is how it should be. Ive only ever used MO2 via wabbajack, ive never tried to manually install mods before into it. But some guy has changed Fallout 4 with a whole load of mods, and for me to experience the same as him im going to have to install them manually into MO2 (though it should really be a wabba list.) Cant say im looking forward to doing it, manually installing stuff is the easiest route to errors and problems, and the sheer volume of manual work alone is a real drag, but at least GamerPoets will make it a lot easier. He's also the best for help guides ive come across..

I'm so glad I found this hidden gem! Nexus Mod Manager recently got abandoned in favor of Vortex, (which I'm not the biggest fan of its interface, tbh.) And like someone with bad memory, NMM is currently *forgetting* my Fallout 4 MCM, and numerous Sim Settlements 2-related mods. Playing FO4 without SS2 to me feels like being at an ice cream shop with no money, (sad AND demoralized.)

I'm having some real issues with bodyslide studio so maybe a tutorial for that next? Also a ton of this was super helpful for suggesting good ways to structure the files
I spent hours trying to mod Fallout 3 earlier this year but gave up when I lost all voice overs and had to store my PC. I was using MO2 but gave up on the project. When I get my own place I'll try again and start here 😊

I recently tried to swap from Vortex to MO2, but the load order overwrite system was just so inferior to my institutionalised Vortex mindset of their awesome auto-system that I went back to Vortex.
But if you are making a series on this, and it addresses and answers the questions on the lightning bolts, identifying and fixing errors/problems, then I will once again leave Vortex for MO2.

Hey GP, what do you do installing MO2 if you get "INI file is read-only...Mod Organizer is attempting to write to "fallout.ini" which is currently set to read-only" then it offers:
>Clear the read only flag,
>allow the write once
>Skip this file?
I’ve got an odd question for you that I can’t seem to find an answer for. I downloaded 2 mods for fallout 4. Apparently I was supposed to delete them through the pip boy before I deleted them through MO2. I unfortunately didn’t know that until I already deleted through MO2. Even on a fresh game they load and have broken my sanctuary with everything flickering. How can I find these files so I can manually delete them?

Nicely done video with clear directions ..... sadly in my case after installation I can't even get the GUI to actually load, almost like windows is preventing it. Whether I load it normally or as an administrator. It doesn't even show up on task manager.
Trying to download game but this window pop out "No category found This Nexus category has not yet been mapped. Do you wish to proceed without setting a category, proceed and disable automatic Nexus mappings, or stop and configure your category mappings?" "Proceed, Disable, Stop & Configure" What do I do?

This is great, the part about the categories.. I went along and did 'do nothing' but on your other vid you have the category list. How do you make them? Specially when following the overwrite video I think I want to be able to sort everything.
There's a drop down above the mods on the left. Option in there to create new separators (or what the name is)

I need to make a portal installation just for my GOG games because I need to link the games path to GOG and not STEAM. STEAM Fallout 4 (the files are still in my games drive before the recent update) but on STEAM itself (I had everything to only launch etc to prevent auto-updates) it now says INSTALL. I can still play Fallout 4 in MO2 though.
My issue is that i made a FNV list and i dont know how to save everything in it. I didnt make the instance first
How do i change the graphical settings for Fallout 3 because my draw distance is terribly short

how do i fully remove mo2 and start again i feel like i messed up first time i did it as i didnt see this video till now
@gamerpoets I just recently decided to start playing FO4 again and going through the setup of all my mods. The one mod, which isn't really a mod, is body slide and outfit studio. Now before I quit playing 4 years ago, I had this working just fine with MO2 however now I can't get it to work just right. I have a handful of mods that are clothing and are built to the makers body. Do you have a video on getting this to work? I got FO4edit to work right and I followed the same principle but doesn't seem to work for BS&OS.
BTW, I watched your video on how to stop FO4 from taking the NG update as 90% of my mods will likely break so I will follow that.
@Gamerpoets Disregard, I figured it out. I didn't point MO2 to where it put the exe file. Though a simple video on basic things like this for the modding newcomers?

I always tend to disable form 43 detector given that there are lots of mod(especially outside of the nexus) that are sse compatible but have 43 forums
But yeah this tool is flexible hence its probably the best mod manager if you know what your doing
That's a pretty cool idea. You can change the forms pretty easy in the CK (allbeit time consuming) if you want to just remove the annoyance... but yeah, disabling is a cool idea.

I haven't touched wrye bash in a while but I would like to do some updates with those videos one day. Time constraints dictate a lot of what I create these days. Generally not sure what I'm creating next until I sit down and just start going. I'll see what I can do = )

Does this work with the original version of Skyrim? It's been years since I've played, and I have gigs worth of mods backed up; so I don't want to have to switch to Special Edition right off the bat.

Yes. But you then have to make sure all the like paths in Settings point to the correct locations.
after installing it shows a pop window to create an instance. The options are global and portable. Which should I choose? Thank you in advance

Hey, 100% unrelated, but I'm pretty sure I originally heard about this mod from one of your videos but now I can't find it. I used to have a mod that not only removed some of the items from the system page, but also reordered them, so the Mods option was at the top, then Save, etc. I have a new computer and am trying to set up a new load order but I can't for the life of me remember what that mod was called. Do you (or anyone else here) know what I'm talking about, and what it's called?
Yea, check my website while it's still up. Pretty sure all that stuff is on my UI section. I don't know how updated those mods are so do a bit of checking on the mod pages before using them all.
Hey man! I installed mo2 and for someone reason thru the walkthru, the language switched to chinese, and I can't navigate back to put it back to english. Any tips?

Specify a different file name.
I was searching for answers and so far there is no posts on forums, videos, making this problem solved.
I don't know if this is something with Windows 11 that needs to be changed or?
Not entirely sure, but if it worked before, and doesn't now, it's likely due to the game updating, which would require f4se to need an update
@@gamerpoets Well, apparently the reason behind the problem was pretty funny and stupid, I just didn't extract F4SE files before trying to drop them into F4 folder.
Still, I think the message from Windows wasn't too precise about it and I'm not entirely sure why I miss extracting process. Anyway, thanks for replying to my comments, I'm glad for having you here on TH-cam and I wish to do a lot and stay for long, since your channel is still a bit too small like for this high-end quality of content.

Regarding what you said at 6:16-6:23, how messed up are we talking?
If you are able to keep track of your folders and manually move all your stuff around to be in the correct spots.... not messed up at all :) you may need to reorganize your load order, too

Hey GamerPoets. Do you know a work around to USSEP? Recently the author has taken a very anti-modder stance and has hidden ALL versions of USSEP for any older version of SE or AE making many mods that require it that are meant for those older versions dead in the water. (You can no longer use USSEP on an downgraded game) Unfortunately when asked about older versions he locks/deletes/or bans any commenter asking about older versions and acts hostile towards them.....its a shame since its such an important mod but its locked behind the latest Official Bethesda update. People shouldnt have to abandon their favorite load orders and mods just because the patch supports Bethesda unnecessary updates.

Please make a ZEdit tutorial with how to use it how to clean mods and how to solve conflicts
Zedit is for merging mods. I use xEdit for the other stuff.

@@matteokmp you install it like XEdit, there's a tab for ZMerge. You select the mods you want to merge and run it. Don't bother with the 'clean" option, just clobber 'em. Run the script relinker and make a mod for it.
