    I'm surprised that 2 minutes of analysis of the final position never covered Qa4+. It looks like an obvious move that saves your queen and saves the knight. It's still losing by around the same margin, but as a check that solves some of white's immediate problems, I'm surprised it wouldn't be the first move to come to mind.

    6…Ng4 was described by Danny King as the Najdo-Grob in his book on the Sicilian for its similarity to the 1…g5 Grob. I only got to play this three times but got some great results. I like a good, fully operational bishop pair.

    Nice title for the video, Agad. Incidentally, almost 30 years ago I found someone who looked at me the way MVL looks at the Najdorf. Long story short: I proposed, she accepted, and we have been married for 27 years now. From time to time, she still gives me that MVL type of look.

      @@Avus86 Never said it was likely to happen. But MVL is not Fabi. Triciker, and faster on tactics he is. He beat Magnus on his last encounter at SCC, and he beat him last year at the blitz championship. Not gonna act like it was just a fluke.

    It's very easy to know who won the game before it finishes as the beautiful thumbnails always show the winner beforehand. Maybe you can make it a little more hard to guess by including both players and not giving too much info in the thumbnail and caption.

      Apparently black just has a winning position after 1.Ne3, Rxc2 2.Nxd5, Rbxb2 3.Nxf6+, exf6. Engine gives -6.

      @@simonx6767 Yeah white ends up down a couple pawns in a rook endgame and is completely lost. Wondering why Agad didn't cover it though since the fork that results in attacking a rook once the queen is captured seems like a great move.

      If QA4+ black will block with Queen to B5 threatening mate in b2 white will capture black will capture queen and have pressure on b2 and the knight hanging in f5 knight will retreat to e3, black will capture in b2 and have dark square bishop aiming to the whites king so no way to hold that

      I was confused too but after thinking about it more I think the winning line for white after Ne3 is Rxc2 Nxd5, Rxb2 Nxf6+, cxf6 and the position is just lost for white. No matter what you do you're going to end up losing either the a or c pawns or both and the king is trapped on the back rank. I don't see a mate but white would be down at least a couple pawns in a rook endgame with a bad king.

    MVL must be one of the easiest supr GMs in the world to prepare for since he only plays the Sicilian Najdorf against e4 and the Grunfeld against d4. However, it's heroic and admirable for a player to believe in his pet systems as strongly as this

    9:42 rb2 is not check, and white doesn't have to capture the rook, he can play re1, threatening rxe7 check. Probably a draw.
